Soap's really should avoid action scenes like fights and car chases, they do not have the budget to hire competent stunt people or fight choreographers. The Phelan scene was a prime example. 'Man With Scary Eyes' takes a two handed swing at Phelan with a heavy crowbar, yet Phelan escapes with minor wound and a little blood on his shirt sleeve, instead of a broken arm, he did even seem to be in any pain afterwards. He then fends 'Man With Scary Eyes' off with his leg who would have hit Phelan across the shin with his crowbar breaking his leg before Phelan could say a word. In those circumstances once he went down on the ground, he would never have got up, certainly not unaided. Presumably Vinny sent him to kill Phelan not just hurt him, as he could still take revenge on Vinny's mum if still alive. - Very poorly written scene.

I must admit i did cry when Seb was begging them to keep the twins together. The rest was dreadful as usual. Surely the care home would have noticed that a little old lady was missing!

The Seb scenes were the only good part of the episode. The actor playing Seb is very good. When is this phelan rubbish going to end? In reality Vinnie would knock seven shades of **** out of Phelan.

Can somebody tell me is Steve, Dev and Tim meant to be funny? and Am I meant to care about the factory and Aidan? I did think Adam was amusing, the cat that got the cream, for now anyway.

Now then, some questions.....

1. Is Nicola still working? She spends so much time at Eileen's now that perhaps not. However, if she is still working, she cannot just accept Phelan sacking Seb for no apparent reason. She's his case worker and needs to be involved in any decision about his apprenticeship. Also she should have been involved when Social Services went round to his house.
2. Talking of Seb, I don't know what the law is on this so perhaps someone can tell me, but the Social Worker who came round said that Seb wasn't legally old enough to take care of the twins. He is 16 and could be legally married with his own children, so why is he not old enough to look after his brother and sister? I understand that Social Services might be conscerned because of the dysfunctionality of the family, but that's not what was said.
3. What is happening about Underworld? Have the police given up investigating? Are the insurance company not paying out? Is it just to be left derelict with no roof? Is nothing being done about it?
4. When will this dire Phelan story come to an end? How has he turned into the Manchester equivalent of the Krays all by himself?

Thanks for your pedantic stance on this. There are a lot of questions that as a soap mimicking real life, do need answering.

Who rang social services on Seb's family, was it Pat or Faye?

He must employ a lot of sub contractors as most of the time he is in the cafe or Bistro earwigging on other folk's conversations so he can manipulate certain situations .. so that is why he is as clean as a whistle :ninja::moonie:

He was ridiculous unless he thought he could look after them 24/7

Sebs anger towards anna was totally unacceptable and unfair. Didn't he realise that the emergency services probably automatically reported it /or hospital obviously? After all the help Anna gave and then get that thrown on your face?! Nice. Not.

No, probably not because I would not necessarily think of them as reporting it when I am upset and scared .. and only 16 years old ....

A good comment.
BUT, don't forget that although he's only 16, when the scriptwriters decree it, he can be a lot more mature in his regard to looking after the twins. As per a lot of things that happen it's down to the writers' whims for each particular situation that arises.

Personally I feel Corro has lost the plot regarding being an entertaining soap with some cracking good humour. For the past few years it has become obsessed with murders, kidnapping, fires, over-the-top accidents.

Perhaps it's a reflection on society today that people aren't interested in soaps telling the story of everyday life? Maybe the writers are afraid if there isn't something out of the ordinary happening, they might lose viewers. I think I must just be getting too old.

I remember someone saying about Midsomer Murders and the fact that if it was real life there would be no inhabitants left in any of the villages, given there's a murder every episode. It's almost getting to be the same scenario with Corro.

Everyday life exactly! It would be refreshing to see someone just cooking a meal in the house for a change! Don't understand how everyone seem to afford to eat and drink out all the time...

Has the gym been sold now? Now Sean works at the Medical Centre it runs smoothly and Moira spends her time in the Rovers now after starting to date Steve :p

I thought the double episodes tonight were absolutely awful! Such dark scenes of murder. Should really not be on so early in the evening, and it's not supposed to be some murder drama!!! :angry:

I don't mind the dark scenes, i quite like them.

What i didn't like was Andy "coming back from the dead" then after months of Andy being the basement to only be killed off!?

Why? It's stupid and a waste of a potentially good storyline where they could have explored the mental abuse he has suffered.

As you say, it's not supposed to be a murder drama, but now it is.

Corro is really going downhill, other soap forums are saying just the same. There have been comments about viewers giving up on it, as it's not a soap any more. I like it for the humour, but don't see how it can have that along with all this kidnapping and murder rubbish. That what's it's fast becoming - rubbish.

I didn't watch last night..So Andy was killed??! Why?
Have the writers gone mad?! That would have made a great Christmas storyline, to get Andy back home. Why on Earth did they bother locking him in the cellar then for weeks..Is he really dead now ?
What I really would have hoped is that they had made some sort of modern slavery storyline out of this..

Unless Phelan had a dream but he dumped him and Vinny in the sea!

Kate Oates needs to be careful not to over egg the pud, if she is not careful will alienate her core audience. Some of those scenes at 8:30 were not suitable for CS and although well acted was not "Corrie."

She needs to remember this is CS and not ED. She said recently in a Radio Times interview in terms of Royals ED was like Prince Harry and CS was like Prince William. Well CS last night was neither Harry or Will's more like we were going back in time to James the first.
