oh naughty lee stealing charity collection
Im all sorts of confused.
Lee had an out, but he back tracked, at this point in time all he owes is 3 grand, where is he going to get the deposit from now ? Also where was Johnny?
oh it was Julias theme music for Maz before the full EE theme kicked in at the end.. ive tried to explain this EE leaving tradition of characters theme thing to the land lady but she hasnt grasped it yet.. I will keep trying.
I love it when EastEnders remembers its past and gets it right. The Masood scenes were very moving especially with Kush and Mas. As always Diane Parish was bang on the money and I thought the scenes with Jane were also good. Kamil just stole the end scene in the black cab. As for Lee, it is almost too painful to watch now.
I did wonder if it's going to be a boy that looks like Denny and it being related to Jay's drug dealer.
But anyway: Lee's an idiot. Stealing from his family - first the bracelet and now the charity money. Has he counted it to know there's enough money?
Cost of housing is a really useful topic to highlight but I don't think there's anything good at the end of this one for Lee as a character.
There were some lovely scenes with Mas and various though.
He said something like:
Be happy. You of all people deserve to be happy.
I nearly had hysterics laughing at that bit. And she said someone needs to keep Ian out of trouble.
Yes their role in the cover up of Lucy's death is all but smoothed over, the plaster is set, the paint is going on and soon a picture will be hung on it.
does shirley ever discover buster was giving his fish to kathy
He's depressed and not thinking straight. His self-esteem is zero so he believes that he's not good enough for Whitney. He's therefore acting out of character to try and prove to himself he can make her happy. He'd never steal (especially from his mum) if he was well.
so no one in pub saw lee take charity pot and now he has it upstairs
I must admit I did miss my Friday installment of EastEnders. :crying:
Line of the night goes to Donna: "if he gets any more yellow he will turn into a minion." :rotfl:
Steve McFadden is really playing this well, they have made him look ill. The scenes with Billy and Phil were good.
The audition scenes with( Casandra) Geraldine were very Corrie which is not a compliment. Its bad enough having amateur hour in Coronation Street without it being hammed up in EastEnders. It does not suit the show.
For me the whole epp was amateurish, contrived and wooden, well apart from Billy and Phils scenes.
Story line wise, Lee isnt a strong enough actor to convey the hole he is in, how he has a deluded wife who cant understand that it isnt sex that is the problem, its just a symptom of depression. The deep chasem Lee cant see any way out of. Then he has a brother who knows he is lying about money yet hasnt stepped in at any point to help other than cause more stress with his threats of outing his loan details pre the wedding.
The panto thing is just ridiculous, but worth it to see Pikey again. "dont tell him your name Pike"
Have to agree about Pike. Great to see him again and without his scarf.
The opening part of the episode was too Hollyoaks for me. It doesn't suit EastEnders. The music was a little too loud also drowning out some of the dialogue. The episode did feel a little odd to be fair.
I thought the music was ok at the start, but way too much through the episode.
Lucky Dot if its age related macular degeneration, they can treat that now.. although if it turns out to be wet she needs treatment now.
Took me two months to get an appointment with a specialist but then I have inherited macular degeneration which is un treatable atm.
Lee just needs to report this bullying in the work place, it maybe make him unpopular with the management but they would be scared to sack him if thats made formal, The company has a duty of care for its employees.
Surprised Lee has not given him a slap. I too would hope reporting the bullying would resolve the issue , but I don't think that particular departmental manager is bothered, even to the point of being part of the problem. Lee certainly needs to talk to someone . I've never worked in a call centre ,the pressure must be extreme , in Lee's state of mind could push him over the edge, must be getting close.:(
yes army lee and bit of jack the lad lee would have
you would need the gift of the gab selling in a call centre
whitney is also a major head wrecker for lee
That is down to Lee though .. should have been honest from the start ...
I managed a large call centre for a well known telephone company, but we dealt with incoming business callers, thats quite fun if you know your stuff. The staff were highly trained and although taught to up sell and always be closing there were no targets to earn your wage it was set regulated pay. \the staff were just slightly lower paid that a first line manager.
Then they started new part of the centre cold calling, they were payed considerable less, given basic training and given a script to follow, they would all start the job full of get em enthusiasms and burn out very quickly and normaly before even their trial period ended so the company would recruit more. Now thats the worst kind of call centre and I was happy that end didnt have anything to do with me although I was offered a promotion to run it, the lady that did take it on couldnt reach her targets and was sideways moved to a project which is the step before you leave as thats the end of your career.
Also the poor saps in the out going call centre where persuaded not to join the union, bad bad move.
I have sympathy for both Whitney and Lee. They're both victims of Lee's depression. Whitney appears to be being pushy, but she believes she's pushing in a direction Lee is more than happy to travel. Lee should have been honest about his feelings, but it's incredibly difficult to do that when suffering mental illness, especially if you have all kinds of expectations from loved ones weighing you down. It's especially difficult for young men like Lee who believe feeling depressed is a weakness and that they can snap themselves out of it.
If I was going to blame anyone for not noticing his deterioration and for piling on the pressure it'd be Mick and Linda. They've known Lee for 24 years and and have much more life experience than Whitney. However, I think it's all too easy to apportion blame when you're on the outside looking in and can see the bigger picture.
I'm embarrased to admit that I've been in a position where I didn't notice the signs in someone close to me despite being a lifelong sufferer myself. :o
i find it hard to muster any care for lee and whitney either way maybe that's why i am finding the show dull and uninteresting currently as no storyline drawing me in
Ah but thats the whole problem with mental illness, its not like a broken arm or leg, its hidden and even when its diagnosed some coves pops along and says "oh pull yourself together", blah blah blah. Mood swings in sufferers can really con on lookers, one moment they can be laughing along with the fun but then in the loo crying their heart out unseen.
Lee is backing himself deeper into a hole, he cant see himself getting out of it, the only person who has an inkling how to save him is Johnny, but all he has done so far is drive Lee deeper into the pit of despair.
Its a good story line and depressing as it may be its on the money so far.
jack selling roxy house how???
I am really liking Derek. I wish he was returning full time. It was a bit odd having carols playing out late in the evening and it's 28th November?
I enjoyed the Dot Scenes, I also liked the Ronnie/Roxy/Jack scenes. I do feel sorry for Roxy. Pleased Tina has morals and told Kathy about trifle head Babe.
I didnt hear whiny Kathy thank Tina and it is the employers place to train their staff, it gets me so cross when someone tells you you should of known that its common sense, I mean I didnt know you cant lean a dusty monitor with glugs of good soapy water and a sponge. Anyway I bet Ian sacks her because dimbo Kath tells it wrong.
I suppose if Roxy isnt paying towards the mortgage its fair comment to say lets sell up then, personaly I would get in lodgers to pay it. I lump sum in back earns virtually nowt and is eaten up quickly by renting.
Roxy said she wanted to keep the house to leave Amy if something ever happened, now why would she say that is she clairvoyant does she know the future :p :searchme:
