It's hard, if not impossible to have any sympathy for Max when you think in the crap he put other people through. Karma has a way of biting back.

I like how Corrie remember their history, with Todd not going to Oxford, I had forgotten about that.
Bit annoying having a double drip of asylum seekers (Todd and Chesney)
We are all aware of just how much our country is expected to be hospitable, but at the moment storylines
Maybe a story of one of the streets family going to a food bank, or sitting with no heating on, mat have more relevance😫😫😫

We are all aware of just how much our country is expected to be hospitable, but at the moment storylines need to look at how working people are struggling, without handouts.

No, it doesn't offend me. Sorry, if I left that impression. I was just curious if you also used it while talking to people or whether or not you only used it in written speech. I watch a lot of things from the UK but only notice it in articles, comments, etc., not when people speak. So that is why I asked.
While and whilst both have the same meaning, but you cannot always use whilst in place of while. We chatted for a while - correct. We chatted for a whist - incorrect.
While and whilst, both describe the time that something else is happening. While tends to be used to describe something that is happening at the same time at something else. Whilst used in contrast. Example: I watched TV while I waited for my taxi (cab), whilst my sister played games on her phone. Whilst may be considered old fashioned by some people. Just to complicate things further when can be used instead of while. The phone rang while/when I was up a ladder. Whereas can sometimes also be used instead of whilst.
My brain is hurting so I will stop here.
I say 'whilst' and so does my daughter . Pretentious ??? Really? I certainly would be offended if someone said I was pretentious or using a word was pretentious . It rather suggests Hyacinth Bouquet .
And what about saying unbeknownst instead of Unbeknown?. Is that pretentious?!
Pretentious? Moi?
Thanks for all the replies (I've had more replies to this question than any about Corrie).
When talking to Adam, why did Daisy refer to Daniel as his nephew and why didn't Daniel correct her ?
What was wrong with Carla not feeling well, did I miss why?
Or is she going to be I'll or pregnant
Just seems weird to show it, coz people never really get ill in the street.
Summer is not a good choice for being pregnant, too young, eating disorder, or being diabetic too!
I think Carla would be a good storyline, could be a new beginning for her and Peter
She probably has a brain tumour, coz soaps always copy each other, and it's happening now on Eastenders.
I love the Platt scenes they are the first family of Corrie and imo the first family of soap.
