That would be far too simple.

He could have said Aggie was a nurse, a health professional, and that is why he spoke to her. Sally would have been annoyed, but then Sally gets annoyed about almost anything. But it would have been better than just confiding to someone in the pub like Peter. It was obvious weeks ago that this is what was going to happen. My main gripe about the scene was both Aggie and Tim said a lot but really explained nothing. It was a silly story used to fill space.
The strange thing is that Sally was not suspicious when Tim kept singing " Wake up, Aggie, I think I got somethin' to say to you"
We all knew Max was not going to be behind Maria's trolling. Sam did make me howl when he said to Leanne about not being academic.
Since they increased^ the number of episodes the show has gone downhill. They should be brave enough to go back to three or four episodes a week, then we could less silly, unrealistic gangster stories, and no more nonsense about Sally and Tim's bedroom antics. My choice would be for two thirty minute episodes on Monday and Wednesday with one hour on a Friday.
What is it about with Corri and children having disjointed families.
Poor Sam lost his mother.
Summer has 3 gay men as guardians, non of whom is a parent
Max and Lily with a very confusing set of guardians
Jack does have his Dad but again a different "mother" person
Lewis, only his mother ,no father
Dylan again another confused set up, his Gay Dad with numerous boyfriends in and out
Fiz daughter with a "step father" (when hes not shacking up with latest love interest)
And of course his daughter whose mother is "God knows where"jail I think
Apart from the "invisible" quads is there any actual real life families together as a unit on Corri.
And dont mention the Baileys, as we have now got rid of the footballer
Which leaves his brother bringing up his child and again no mother
Time got a grip and realised that there are real family units that consist of biological parents living as nice families.
Urggggghhhhh corri is annoying me
Ruby's mother has now died, no longer in jail. I suppose Tracy has had her adoptive dad around her all the time even if he was not always living with her mum. Aadi and Asha have had Dev around all the time, mum sadly died. But you are right, Dad, Mum and children all living under one roof does not seem possible on Coronation street.
Nick and Leanne seem to be making the situation with Sam wanting to visit Harvey more difficult that it needs to be. They should sit Sam down, and try to explain to him why Harvey shot his mother. Harvey was a dangerous escaped criminal, who was on the run when he broke into the flat, and shot Natasha when she came home and disturbed him, thinking she was Leanne. There is a slight danger that Sam could lay some blame on Leanne, but I think Sam is bright enough to see that it was not her fault. They should tell him that is very unlikely that Harvey would offer him a reasonable explanation, or tell him the truth, as lying is what criminals do to allay the blame.
I think Sam will go and visit Harvey and ask him why he became very naughty and that if he had played chess when he was little, he may have turned out better. Sam will offer to visit him each week and teach him to play chess. Harvey will be so filled with remorse that he will go back to his cell and hang himself and Abbie and her baby will come out of hiding and will be seen on the street again, and Haley's coat will suddenly be found behind the back of a chair in Roy's Rolls and Maxine Peacock will ask Audrey can she have her old job back.
It's a rule in Coronation Street that no-one ever actually explains anything. Mostly they just stand there without saying anything while someone is ranting on having got it all wrong. Then comes the break up and divorce (or murder) and all the dysfunctional families mentioned above, when a simple explanation may have saved everything.
At times it is like Sam is the Parent and Nick the child. Nick is constantly avoiding fully engaging with Sam, and takes the easy way out in difficult situations. I think there are times when a parent has to be firm and say that a child has to wait until they are older before they can make certain decisions.
Oh no, don't think I can bear it!!
Seems we are to have more of this insipid young woman, Summer😢
So she is pregnant and no doubt a whole load of "I can't keep it" and her dreadful whining all over again.
Please send her away to a far-off land to bring up her baby and take the 3 Guardians with her.
We can have spin-off called "3 men and a baby + immature teenager"
🤣🤣
Sally made Rosie take an morning-after pill, not sure if this has been done before or since, Leanne had an abortion, I am sure, Tina McIntyre aborted David Platt's baby, Sinead aborted Daniel's baby and I am sure there might have been others I cannot think of at the moment. Seems contraception and the morning-after pill after unexpected intimate encounters are not an option.
Thanks all for your replies. I guess I hadn't noticed those examples. Here in the US it is barely mentioned. Erica Kane on the soap All My Children had one back in 1973 but weirdly enough around 30 years (?) later, it was changed to not an abortion but a real child had been born, but Erica didn't know? 🙄 Here is a short synopsis of that:
"It was 2005 when the head writer, Megan McTavish rewrote the story to have Dr. Greg Madden (Ian Buchanan) transplanting the aborted fetus into his own infertile wife. They raised Erica?s child and when Josh Madden, originally played by Scott Kinworthy, came to town, it was eventually revealed to be the child Erica thought she had aborted."
It's barely even discussed here.
So Bernie has plenty of witnesses who saw her in the cafe during the morning when the jewellery shop owner would have seen Fern. It seems quite easy to me for Bernie to prove her alibi. If only Craigie was on the job.
send innocent bernie to prison like innocent stu, karma pot kettle black taste of own medicine etc.,
No shotgun blasts into the ceiling - No hammers smashing glass cases - Must be the quietest, most non violent "Jwellery Heist" ever. But why did Fern feel the need to pull her hoodie up before she started robbing. After all she had been cleaning all morning with her hood down.
To be truthful I am confused by the whole business. On Monday's episode she arrived at the shop and the owner/manager left her cleaning, when he seemed to go home. On Wednesday he arrived when she was cleaning and said "good morning". Did she spend the night there, or did she open up before he arrived, if so did he give her the keys and alarm codes - to someone he had just met the previous evening. Did he not think it suspicious that she seemed to spend the whole time cleaning one bit of counter.
What sort of jewellers was it that had no other staff, did not lock the display cases, unless this was because it did not have any customers. Even though Bernie and Fern look similar, I am sure in close up they be able to see the difference. I don't think PC Tinkers special powers of investigation will be needed to solve this crime.
Corrie really is finding it difficult to come up with good believable story lines. Must have been putting all their efforts into getting Summer pregnant.
Where are they going with this asylum seeker story, the way Chesney was going on about it, it sounds like he will be taking some in. At least he has the room in his house.
So because Chesney couldn't get Ryan on the phone, it means Bernie must be lying and guilty. Eh?
I also fail to understand the point Bernie was making that she had been stitched up by Fern because she made her stay in all afternoon and therefore had no alibi. But she (Fern) was seen in the shop in the morning by the owner when Bernie was working in the cafe.
This story is complete garbage.
I find Summer to be an unlikeable character. She is supposed to be really clever but he lacks common sense. It's a bit of a trait in soaps that clever people lack common sense.
I have never liked this summer, the original Summer was not very likeable, I found her arrogant and aloof, but could not see her getting pregnant. Problem when they recast characters, is it not just that they get a new head, but a new personality too. Same thing happened with Max. It seems that when they decide to take a character in a new direction they have to recast in order to do so. I would prefer they make the extra effort needed to write stories for the actors they already have.
