That's great news Siobhan :) A high carb diet sounds great as I love pasta, crumpets, cereals and bread.

I want to try this Shiv how do I log in and get the training and recipies in English.
Yeah me too.. it's all in German haha
How is the diet going Siobhan?
I'm back to 13st (not that you could tell), but when I was exercing regularly went down to almost 11st.
lost another 1/2 kilo this week... so it is going well.. I am getting past my zone (I haven't been below 10 stone since I had Ben) but I am bang on that now...
Kath and Kirsty, unfortunately it is not available in English.. I am lucky I have a German partner... My sister who had never lost weight on ANY diet has lost 5lb in over 4 weeks.. she is delighted with it...
Thank you for posting this,Siobhan, will have a go at this too, but I find it all a little confusing at the moment. Will ask a German colleague to help out with bits I am not sure about. Hopefully, it will work for me the way it has for you.
My 12 week program is nearly up and I have gone from 67.5 kilo to 61kg.. I am totally amazed at the results.. I am going to keep going as I would like to get down to 57kg and I now know it is an achievable result!! On the same site is a maintainence plan which I will follow after I hit my target (expect to hit in on the 23rd November).
Have managed to register now and have realised why I have not lost any weight so far .. too many carbs. I usually have porridge and milk for breakfast which means I am crossing off most of my carbs allowance for the day  Not very happy about 1 hour exercise every day :( :p
That's were i think I'm going wrong. I have ceral in the morning and usually a sandwich or pasta/salad for lunch. I have tried swaping white bread for brown, but how much carbs should I be eating a day or week.
You would need the plan (which is in German). You get 17 triangles per day for carbs and 12 circles for fat. Then it is a bit like WeightWatchers, you have a food plan telling you how many triangles or circles the particular food has. Example: A portion of Special K Black Berry (30g) has 3 triangles and 1 circle, you then need to add one more triangle for 1 glass (200g) of skimmed or semi-skimmed milk and one triangle and 2 circles for full fat milk. Throughout the day you mark off everything you eat and drink and Siobhan has proven that it works very well. :)
to maintain weight you should be eating around 240gr of Carbs per day but you should also be eaten 70gr of fat.. If you don't eat both of them that's when weight is gained..
As Perdy says, on this diet you eat half your allocation of carbs and fats per day but you can eat as much protein and fiber as you wish (read the back of packages for number of carbs).. For example, you can eat egg whites (not the yoke) and chicken (minus skin) and you don't cross of any symbols on this diet.. all protein..
240g of carbs a day? That's shocking. I love my carbs.
Whats the recommended calorie count per day for females please?
2000 calories for women, 2500 for men.
I'll need to dig out my Scottish Slimmer's book to find out how many carbs I'm eating thanks girls.
There is a chip/burger van literally parked right outside our flats late at night. This is not good.
My weight loss resoltion = go to exeter uni :p
 but you havent seen where we are, there are so many hills apparently I will end up with whats called exeter thighs :p
We are right at the bottom of the hill and then its hills all the way round and in campus, one pair of jeans is already starting to be a bit loose
I'm jsuts ticking to good old Slimming Worl.. lost 6lbs :) 1 more 1lb to my half stone mark! I feel great... but not great enough! Doesn't help that I keep picking at rubbish in College because we're always on breaks to late for actual food.
Isnt Alli the same as Xenical?
Just to give you all an update.. it is now week 17 and I have lost a total of 10kg.. I have gone from 10 st 11lb down to 9st 2lb.. only 2 lb left to get to my perfect weight.. Clothes that didn't fit me at the start of this are now too big on me.. I feel happier and more comfortable with my body... I am so glad I have done this.. it works and the results are brilliant. (must do a before and after shot :rotfl: )
Well done, Siobhan, you will do the other 2 lb as well. :cheer:
It is not a healthy way to lose weight and it is also not a way to keep your weight down permanently.
But you are suppose to eat fat on a daily basis... most food contain some fat so you will be pooping all the time then.. It reminds me of some diet pills I was on before, I had to quit after 3 days cause I was in and out of the bathroom all day and then suffered from cramps
Well I'm starting a keep-fit/weight loss regime with one of the Health and fitness students. It's part of their course. They were looking for volunteers so I signed up. I have a lovely 16 year old boy named Joshua who has to design a fitness programme for me andI have to stick to it for 6 weeks to begin with. Bless his little heart he's not got a hope in hell shifting the fat of my belly and ass. I've not had my fitness test yet. Trin if you hear sirens over the next few days you'll know it's the ambulance for me. I'll let you know how I get on. My target is to loose 2 stone.
Well done Sibohan thats amazing!!!... I'm struggling to hit 1/2 stone! I',m playing with the same 1lb and now after going to London... I'm just going to feel liek I'm starting all over again tomorrow when they tell me I've put 1/2 stone back on!!
Oohh good luck Kath, you can do it! :)
Also, isn't it bad to cut things out of your diet completely? I thought little bits of everything was needed to keep healthy... just to not go overboard?
You are right, Kirsty, to lose weight and keep it off you need a balanced diet of everything, fat, carbs and protein. And of course the dreaded word (for me, anyway :)): exercise :(
Perdy.. you can be amazed what a little exercise can be... I am only starting doing proper exercise (2 dance classes a week) prior to that I was losing weight just be eating right and walking.. get off the bus a stop earlier, park your car a bit further from the shops etc... very simple things. I got a pedometer and it started with 6000 steps a day and towards the end was up to 10,000 steps... I don't do much at work (chained to my desk mostly) but just have the pedometer I was aware I should walk more
I do most of what you suggest, apart from getting off the bus earlier .. I live in a littile village and need the car to get to work, else I would never make it on time, because the bus service is rare. I have a nordic walker exercise machine at home and use it at times, just not as often as I should. I am awake at between 4 and 5 in the morning (OH is a snorer :crying: ) and get home from work at 5 pm, then doing tea/washing/ironing... too tired to exercise. Belly dancing once a week, have brought the music cd to work to see if I can motivate myself to practice in my lunch break :)
Park your car in the furthest car park space, use stairs instead of lifts, get up and walk around the office.. little things.. I don't have much time for exercise either and I would never have the motivation to go to a gym or work at home...
Well Done Siobhan
I Must Start One I Going To Try Slender Range Anyone Had Any Sucess With This?
Its time for me to get fit again. Last time I got down to 11st 7lbs. Target is the same this time
I'll weight myself later to see how much I have to lose. I reckon a couple of stone
I really need to cut down before christmas.
this is the period i hate :(
Same! although i have been dieting since going back to college and have dropped a dress size - and that's only in 6 weeks. Just been eating less and more healthily and walking a lot more. Defo time for a big change in the new year though!
well done with the dropping a dress size!
I hate my size.
I'm too big. I'm struggling to keep my weight even.
