He already was an idiot. She shouldn't have accepted his proposal after the book fiasco though.

Why would the spanner touching the radiator valve cause what looked to be an electrical short circuit?
Even if the pipe was 'live' Ed wasn't touching anything else so he wouldn't have got a shock, he was also wearing boots possibly with rubber soles and the floor was carpeted, there would be nowhere for the current to flow.
I figured. That's how my apartment is heated. I live in a building that was built in 1915 & the landlord is too cheap to convert the apartments to electric heating. The only downside is, he controls the heat. It's usually off between April & October & when it's on it only comes on twice a day. Except for this last winter, I called the city & told them that my apartment was hovering around 57 degrees (13 celsius) & they must have really given him a hard time because the heat was on all day up until the end of May.
So, then unless he had his finger in an electrical socket, it's unlikely it was the wrench touching the valve that shocked him?
He controls the heat, I wouldn't have thought that was even bloody legal.
This whole Maria story. While I don't think she deserves what's happening to her, the way she is talking down to people doesn't help her image. When the guy from the bin workers talked to her, her attitude of "Get away from me, dont talk to me" sure doesnt give her a very positive light as if she's too 'good' to talk to the mere peasants. I really hope they wrap this story up and her half baked political career soon.

Unfortunately in the US, it is very legal. But there are minimum temperatures that must be maintained. I am lucky though because my landlord isn't a total creep, just cheap!
At one time the electrics were earthed to the copper pipes of the plumbing system . I think this was done in case a live wire came in contact with a copper pipe the charge would go to ground. I am not sure of the science behind this but it is no longer done, or legal to do so. In the cellar in my house there is a metal rod driven into the ground and the electrics are earthed to this. So presumably somehow the pipe had become live because they were installed before the regulations were changed.

Ed's boots would not necessarily have made it safe to come in contact with electricity, normal footware is not "electrical safe" many boots and shoes do not have pure rubber soles, it is often a composite material. Ed was squatting down so possibly one knee was touching the floor. Not sure that carpet would protect him, and anyway, they were there to fix a leak so the floor was probably damp.
is paul investing with ronnie also?
I do not think Ronnie is out to scam them but does he have the money to pay for all the materials for that development??? And if he cannot pay Ed and Paul, how are they supposed to pay their bills without doing other jobs and the development at night time or weekends only?
I did have to laugh at the idea that three houses made a village. Also, what was this site again? If formerly something like a shop or hotel you'd need planning permission for a change of use unless that has already retroactively been done.
The whole communal garden discussion seemed a shady way to squeeze an extra house in.
Debbie is supposed to be a smart business woman, yet she offered Ed some compensation without consulting a lawyer. A lawyer would surely have told her not to admit liability without discussing the legal implications.
Why is it that in Coronation Street, whenever anyone makes an appointment to see someone, whether it's the doctor, getting married, a relationship counsellor or whoever, they always - always - manage to get a last minute cancellation?
The thing is that it was all contrived for the storyline and never was believable for me. I wish scriptwriters would leave couples be happy as not every relationship has to go through a breakdown to make drama, I hope that Ty and Fiz will now be in a stable relationship with the ususal arguments and falling out but sticking together, the next Jack and Vera.
Ty's Alina tattoo problem is easily solved, just have something else tattooed over it, to hide it.
Has Gary put Maria's tracker in with the money?
How did Dylan get into the school football team of a school he doesn't go to?
phil could do much better than fiz with demonic hope
Audrey was right about Platt. He has always been an obnoxious git.
The trained international bodyguard loses yet another fight.
I thought they had called the police themselves and gave statements to what happened, (not shown on tv) Kelly's prints would be on the crowbar and I don't think she would have lied, she had no alternative but to whack him over the head.
I would have preferred Gary to have finished him off as that is the only way to put a full stop to it.
Aaron, the new foreman at the garage, putting Ty and Kevin back in their boxes.
phil could just walk into a private therapy session, he should just walk away from fiz, stop being an idiot
