I must admit I was a bit bored with tonight's episode, it seemed along 27 minutes. ( I don't think EastEnders works sandwiched in between the two Corrie's)
Aaron Sidwell stepped up to the mark tonight, the scenes with steven and Jane were very good, but I can't bare Lesley Jane taking the moral high ground after what she did with Lucy's body. The scenes with Ben and Denny were good as were the scenes with Kathy and Ben.
It's a bit frustrating the Kim vs Dot story.
Kim clearly dropped her phone was trying to get that when she ran into Dot. Whilst not having a driving licence to be unaccompanied.
Writing it that Dot's not able to see just wipes any blame from Kim which is wrong.
Dealing with the issue of Dot not being 100% fit to drive should have been kept separate from Kijm's driving lesson saga.
It's a valuable thing to get people discussing - when are you too old to drive. You have to self-declare and often the loss of independence is felt that it's the beginnning of the end for old people, especially those in rural areas.
I'm still quite horrified at the idea of Dot needing a car let alone driving. They're in London. Which has buses and tube that run at much greater regularity than anywhere else in the country. Dot works across the square from where she lives. She's always popping in to the minimart for things and there's a great veg stall there too. Why does she need a car?
Does Ian and Jane not speak to Peter anymore?
That young son of Carmel with the bun is a huge douchebag (I feel so hip and cool using that word :p) Rebecca deserves better
Lovely scenes with Dot and Patrick. Good to see EastEnders making the most of their older cast.
I wonder if they are setting the storyline up for Peter's return? I wouldn't trust Steven as far as I could throw him. I am surprise at Jane sticking up for Steven. We all know why Peter won't come back Jane, because of you protecting your Psycho son, who killed his sister. Who can blame Peter. The Beale's are rotten to the core. I don't think even SOC will be able to repair the damage left by DTC. They are repugnant.
Was it acknowledged that Peter stopped talking to Ian and Jane and cut off contact over Bobby?
It would have made sense for Lauren to have returned with Louis as she and Peter clashed over Max getting blamed but her return was a failure as she too sided with Bobby
And we to believe Stephen that Peter is now an alcoholic in New Zealand
I enjoyed Kim in tonights episode, I did find her amusing the way she left the car virtually in the middle of the road. Stacey is just simply amazing. I love all the scenes in Pat's house. I can just picture Pat looking down on them all, smiling and saying to Stacey " you are doing a good job girl."
The Lee scenes are quite sad to watch, I wonder how Danny Boy is going to leave the show? and does Linda leave soon afterwards?
I find it quite strange that I've grown to like Lee for the first time. I've been indifferent to him before now and wasn't at all sad when I heard he was leaving. Better writing recently has made him much more relatable and I now wish he was staying (not least for Whitney's sake - who's also much more likeable nowadays).
I have read an interesting post on EastEnders on another site by a great poster who sums things up perfectly on the soap audience of today and imo they are bang on the money.
I am paraphrasing but basically there's a generation of the soap audience who have been programmed to see shocks, twists, stunts and sensationalism as the norm and they can't comprehend normal storytelling. In fact I would add they wouldn't know a character led story line if they fell over it. This would be funny if it wasn't true.
That's very true, some soaps seem to churn out the shocks these days. I prefer storylines with substance, it's what got me hooked on EastEnders in the first place and why I keep watching.
I just happened to google Coronation Street a few weeks ago and the description that came up was that it was a program about ordinary folk. Well these days, the soaps are full of murderers, rapists, kidnappers, blackmailers etc that they can no longer be classed as bei ordinary.
I'm really glad of this back to basic approach EastEnders is taking at the moment.
Watching the scene with Whitney and Lee is like watching a car crash happening in slow motion. Very sad.
I liked Sharon's new look without makeup. The Carters are so much more bearable and "normal." Liked the stag scenes and some nice interaction between the characters.
whit didn't invite babe tina sylvie or shirley to her hen
I like how they are building the Dot storyline slowly.
phil has been using sharon's tan :p
jiggle jiggle claudette

It was quite a shock seeing Phil in the hospital tonight. Not sure what his thoughts were with the will. Poor Ben.
Very sad about Dot. Love the friendship between Dot and Patrick. Good atmosphere in the Vic. Did any one else think Shirley's Halloween costume was scary? :D
I thought Sharon was very pushy and greedy insisting her and Denny are in Phil's will
The Dot storyline is heart breaking :(
Could Stacey or Belinda ask Kat for help with the salon
It's not just about the money though. Being cut out of someone's will is a complete rejection and I imagine very hurtful. I think she was right to make sure herself and Denny wouldn't be out on the street penniless if Phil dies. Also, him leaving everything to a fourteen year old - and even cutting out his son - is such a ridiculous thing to do that I think they'd have a good chance of getting it overturned after his death anyway.
It really is, especially since June Brown is sadly losing her sight in real life. :( I wonder if the storyline was her idea?
It's heartwarming that Patrick is taking care of her.
I wonder if the Carter wedding is actually going to go ahead?
So Claudette was finally put in her place. Randolph Walker was excellent. Loved Whitneys put down to Abi. So is Linda going to leave to look after Elaine? Can't be long before Kellie goes on maternity. Danny Dyer is winding me up again, with his cockney rap. I half expect Dick Van Dyke to pop round the corner. It seems so out of place even in Walford.
Claudette and Vincent's gangster accents are so funny, terrible but funny in the wrong sort of way. Won't be sorry to see the back of Claudette.
Im sorry to hear that, but alas any smoker is at risk as smoking increases the risk of age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy and Dry Eye Syndrome. I was born with macular degeneration and wouldnt wish it on anyone.
Lee seems to be just looking for a way out of marrying the girl, it was he who got the STD in the first place for goodness sake and where dose he work?
last night i was expecting phil to tell kathy bug off to her fishy fella buster and for busty claudy to tell vincent he was eric son
has lee really got a job?

I missed Mondays but caught last nights. So why has he changed his will? And was ben previously included in it?
Is Sharon and Phil divorced so she and Denny should not be in Phil's will?
I think Phil said something also about Louise carrying on the Mitchell name etc., as she could have children where Ben wouldn't as he was gay, I think still deep down Phil cannot accept Ben's sexuality choice
I'm not sure if Phil and Sharon are actually divorced but she's living with him, supporting him, running his affairs and being treated as his wife. Non-married partners can be included in wills too. :p
I thought it was Sharon who suggested he'd cut Ben out because he was gay. Phil denied it and I believed him. It'd be ridiculous anyway since Ben already has a child (as Phil pointed out) and being gay doesn't prevent him having more. Also, why not leave anything to Lexi? The whole will thing was completely nonsensical. :wall:
I saw a suggestion on another site that perhaps Ben had been left out of Phil's will in an attempt to push him away so he wouldn't risk his life by donating his liver. I think that'd make some sense, but it doesn't explain the lunacy of the rest of the will...
eastenders lately just dont know how to satisfyingly end a sensational storyline or even conclude a normal storyline
the dot storyline is the best written at the moment
i think stacey's mental health storyline was done well
it is nice every now and then to have a shock twist which is incorporated into a running storyline but not for no reason
kathy's return, no arrests for beales over lying and others for lucy's murder all bad decisions :thumbsdow
Was that the original Tiffany? I read that it was but landlady dosent believe me .
Lee is sucking the life from the show, just fess up and stop letting Johnny ruin your wedding day...
Phil didnt get paid much that epp if it was down to words spoken. But that shrink would of been paid loads if he was employed at a prison, he took no prisoners and obviously knew Ben had killed in his past.
Yep your right, it is her. She's just all grown up.
