True a professional could be a better idea to go with Karen I think is just great she can dance and I would listen to what she had to say
One of the ex-dancers like Karen or Camilla would be good at least they would have a knowledge of the dances and steps. If fine bringing in Aleshia to boost viewing figures but if she doesn't know what she is talking about she is going to look a complete joke.
Is it definite that Arlene is going to be replaced or is it all rumors?
IF it is true that Arlene is leaving and IF it is true that Alesha is coming on board, I WON'T be watching anymore.
I'm sorry but I can't stand her and watching her gush, week in week out, and that blimming laugh of hers (no offence to her, sorry etc) but I wouldn't be able to watch. My eldest son said the same and a couple of others I've spoken to aswell. We already have Bruno as the flamboyant one - we don't need Alesha. At least Arlene has true choreography experience and tbh, her and Craig, whilst sometimes harsh, are the only honest judges on the panel!!
According to DS, she's scheduled to be promoting The Alesha Show during October and November anyway, which if true, would make it impossible for her to do SCD.
I was dead surprised to read about Arlene being replaced on Strictly Come Dancing. I couldn’t see the need for the show to have such a dramatic change. The panel of judges with Len, Craig and Bruno worked very well for the past few years and I have always loved Arlene’s opinion as she is someone that knows her craft very well.
If this rumour is true - I hope that it isn’t - I will not be watching the new show. The only way it will work for me is if they replaced Arlene with someone like Karen Hardy. Someone who will know what their talking about then for someone who has just learnt to ballroom dance in a crash course over 10 weeks :(
Is there any need for Arlene to be replaced?
I hope that these stories are just rumours and I look forward to reading a statement from the BBC and Arlene quashing these rumours. Alesha seems like a nice girl but she needs to stop living off her win from Strictly Come Dancing. This happened 2 years ago, in my eyes it’s time to move on, she needs to try to have a career away from this as it’s coming across like she can’t do anything except gloat about her win from Strictly.
I don't see how the beeb replacing Arlene with Alesha will make the show more popular, last year it won a TV award at the NTA beating the X-factor and other reality shows, which proves viewers are happy with the format and judges.
Alesha gets on my t*ts as she did everyweek when she was a contestant on SCD but if she was to be an assest to the show then I would tolerate her but I just get the impression she is just desparate to be on every tv she show for her own benefit and not to boost viewing figures.
i think that if Arlene has gone its not automatic that she'll be replaced with Alesha, the press just make stuff up. remember how they said she'd be replacing Tess on maternity leave and Tess has already had her baby!
Karen would rock as a judge. and whilst Arlene has served the show well i do think that if any one judge had to go it was her- her comments were TERRIBLE last series! she just seems more keen on giving a topical reference or saying something with aliteration rather than real advice.
Karen could be good as judge but is taking part this year?
Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman has revealed that he is recovering from an operation to remove a cancerous tumour from his prostate gland.
The 65-year-old, who was diagnosed with the disease in March, told the Mail On Sunday that he had decided to delay the surgery until he had finished filming the US version of Strictly.
"I could have said 'sorry' and not done the show, but the doctors felt I wasn’t riddled with it and it wasn’t so far advanced that it was a life-or-death scenario," he said.
"I have had the surgery now. Everything is gorgeously good. I will be back in September for sure... You're a bit sore for a while and you can't play golf, which is the biggest blow at the moment. But I will be able to in a month's time or so, I can't wait."
Goodman went on to say that he had kept the diagnosis secret from his BBC colleagues, explaining: "People generally think 'bloody hell'. With all the hoo-ha about Strictly coming up, I thought, 'Just my luck, they won’t want that old fart on it, the cancer-riddled, bed-ridden old so-and–so'."
He added that "men, probably more than women, tend to ignore their health" and that it is important to get checked up every year so that "they can catch it early and you have a good chance".
Hope he recovers soon
STRICTLY Come Dancing champion Camilla Dallerup is to wed her ex-Hollyoaks star boyfriend Kevin Sacre.
The pair got engaged two weeks ago on a weekend in Capri, Italy.
The ballroom professional is now busy planning the dream wedding she missed when she was ditched by fiance Brendan Cole in 2004.
Fellow Strictly star Brendan dropped her after falling for partner Natasha Kaplinsky on the BBC1 hit.
Danish-born Camilla, 35, was overjoyed when Kevin proposed - despite the actor making a hash of the big moment on a rocky shore.
Kev, 31, who played Jake in the C4 soap, admitted: "I fumbled around for the ring.
"I tried to say something profound about there being beautiful rocks and here's another - luckily she didn't hear that."
Camilla, who won Strictly last year partnering Holby City's Tom Chambers, laughed: "It was quite possibly one of the worst proposals - but for us it was perfect."
They will wed next July. Camilla told Hello! magazine: "I'd like a beach wedding. We go to so many elegant parties so I want to be more relaxed."
Congratulations to them :cheer:
hurrah for Camilia.
good to know Len is ok too, i think he's really raised the importance of getting these things checked out asap.
Congratulations to Camilia and Kevin and a speedy recovery to Len glad to here he is doing well SCD wouldn't be the same without the old goat.
BRUCE Forsyth has agreed a 25 per cent pay cut to present the next series of Strictly Come Dancing, The Sun can reveal.

I take it he will still earn enough not to have to go to the local soup kitchen.
SEXY singer Alesha Dixon WILL replace Arlene Phillips as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, just as TV Biz predicted.
BBC chiefs are finalising the small print on her contract and the deal could be announced today.
A source said: "It's great news. We're just ironing out the finer points - most importantly how much she will be paid."
We revealed how bosses turfed out Arlene, 66, to inject some younger glamour into the panel.
Former Mis-Teeq singer Alesha, 30, won the BBC1 dancing series in 2007.

Alesha Dixon and Darcey Bussell have been confirmed as judges for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
BBC One controller Jay Hunt revealed the appointments this morning, following a month of speculation surrounding the show's replacement for 66-year-old Arlene Phillips.
Dixon, who won the competition in 2007, is a full-time panel member, while Bussell will appear as a guest judge at the end of the series. The professional dancer will also have a role on this year's spinoff show It Takes Two, it has been confirmed.
"As a former Strictly champion, Alesha knows exactly what it takes to win," said Hunt. "Her eye for great performance and her charisma and charm make Alesha a great addition to the judging panel.
"Darcey has impeccable credentials as a dancer and, as a guest judge, she will bring an exciting new dimension to the last few weeks of the Strictly competition."
Speaking about her return to the show, Dixon said: "I'm honoured and excited to be joining the judging panel. I've always felt like part of the Strictly family and really believe in the show."
Bussell added: "It is a real pleasure to have been invited to join Strictly Come Dancing. It is a fantastic show and I'm looking forward to getting to know the dancers and being part of the excitement."

Former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips has signed up as a presenter on The One Show.
Phillips, 66, will team up with regular hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley as the show's Strictly Come Dancing expert. Strictly will run for 14 weeks during the autumn.
Earlier today, it was confirmed that Phillips is leaving the reality series. Alesha Dixon and Darcey Bussell have replaced her on the panel.
"Arlene played a vital role in making Strictly a hit and I would like to thank her for all her work on the show," said BBC One controller Jay Hunt.
"I am delighted she is now forging a new relationship with BBC One by joining the highly-successful One Show team."
Speaking about her move, Phillips said: "I am delighted to be part of The One Show. I will miss Strictly. It has been a big part of my life for six years."
One Show presenters Bleakley and Dom Littlewood have appeared as contestants on Strictly in previous years.

How to spoil my viewing pleasure, having her on one of my favourite unmissable programmes!!!!
I'm in two minds whether to bother watching now or not - sorry but that woman just irritates me to the hilt!
From Wiki:
Phillips is internationally renowned as a choreographer and director of West End and Broadway musicals, but has many other professional credits.
In her mid-teens, Phillips moved to London where she has lived ever since. Strongly influenced by American Modern Jazz dance which was just becoming popular in London at that time, she began developing her own style of Jazz dance and began teaching her style of dance extensively in a number of prominent London dance studios, including Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden. She quickly established herself as a successful teacher and choreographer.
Internationally, Phillips is most noted as a jazz and musical theatre choreographer, having worked on some of the biggest selling musicals in West End and Broadway theatre and a number of successful films. Most notably, Phillips is a multiple Olivier Award winner and Tony Award award nominee.
For the past five years, she has been a judge on the BBC1 show, "Strictly Come Dancing" and is commenting on the acts in Eurovision: Your Country Needs You for the BBC in 2009. In 2008, she created, produced and choreographed a new British television serial called "Britannia High".

In Britain, Phillips first became a household name as the director and choreographer of Hot Gossip, a British dance troup which she formed in 1974 using students she was teaching at the time. Hot Gossip spent two years performing in a London night club where Phillips and her manager developed the group's dance act.
I remember her from Hot Gossip
Well ( inserty hmph smiley here* i dont want a real world judge!! i want a judge I can see knows what she talks about, not someone to sit there looking pretty......we have bruno for that
As much as arlene got on my nerves as least she knew what she was talking about
I don't mind Darcy as the new judge I'd rather have her one everyweek that flaming Aleshia she really gets on my nevers.
Bet she gets the sack within the first month for being totally clueless, yeah she won SCD two years ago but that doesn't qualify her to be a judge. It takes years to learn all the steps for the dances and how they should be performed.
According to Wiki, she is a trained street dancer so not totally clueless.
OMG it happened my worse nightmare - Alesha being a judge!
I will have to see the first show to see if she can be a polished presenter instead of laughing all the time and sounding like a foghorn!
Give the girl a chance, you might all be pleasantly surprised. :)
Sorry Perdy, but she did my head in during the SCD series when she won, and when she was singing and then chatting at the New Years Eve celebrations 08/09, she irritated the heck out of me.
Hubby even said she'll start doing all of the singing during the intervals too now she's going to be a regular. I know there are some out there who like her, but unfortunately, I don't.
Fair enough, I didn't watch the series so can't really comment. I have just seen a few interviews with her and she came across quite nice. Obviously she could be totally different on the judging panel. At first I thought you were talking about Arlene Phillips spoiling your favourite unmissable programme :D :o
lol I love Arlene. I think at least she has some expertise in the field to be able to make some of the comments she does, although sometimes I find her a bit OTT on the nastiness.
Fiona Phillips has criticised the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing revamp, claiming that Alesha Dixon is not qualified to be a judge.
The former GMTV host, who took part in the show's 2005 series, admitted that she felt disappointed when the plans for this year's run were confirmed this week.
On Thursday, BBC bosses announced that choreographer Arlene Phillips had been axed from the programme in favour of former Strictly champion Dixon and professional dancer Darcey Bussell.
Writing in her column for The Mirror, the TV presenter asked: "Since when was Alesha Dixon a choreographer? And who, outside the chattering class pastures of the broadsheets and the Royal Ballet, cares about Darcey Bussell?"
She continued: "Arlene Phillips, on the other hand, was an essential part of the winning Strictly Come Dancing formula - her caustic comments cutting through the ice of a wintry Saturday night, willing you to throw your takeaway at the TV screen as she lay into a well-meant but hopeless celebrity dancer."
Fiona added that the former panel member is "a decent person" and acted like "a caring mother figure" once the cameras stopped rolling for the BBC One show.
Strictly Come Dancing returns in the autumn.

What makes her such an expert? She really seems to miss the limelight since quitting GMTV
I never thought I would ever feel this way but Fiona is right!
SOAP star Reece Dinsdale is in talks to star in Strictly Come Dancing.
Reece, 49, has quit as Coronation Street prescription drugs addict Joe McIntyre despite being offered a massive pay rise to stay, because he feared being typecast.
A source told TV Biz: "Reece has loved Corrie but he wants to move on - and he reckons Strictly is the perfect move."
Actors have done well in the past. Holby City hunk Tom Chambers won last year and ex-EastEnder Jill Halfpenny took the crown in 2004.
The source added: "Reece wouldn't do just any reality show. Strictly is really respected."

Fiona would probably know as she was a contestant on SCD so she may of seen what happened on the show after the cameras stopped rolling
Maybe the beeb will do a u turn with all the crap they have been given about replacing Arlene with Aleesha and decide to keep Arlene instead.
Yeah but look at Britains got talent they signed up Kelly Brooke and they decided it was the wrong decision. If Aleesha has signed a contract she won't be getting paid half of what Arlene was and they could offer her a pay off as compensation. It would be better to do that then risks loosing viewers.
So are you building up my hopes that Alesha could be sacked like Kelly Brook was? :)
I am hoping that the beeb listen to the licence payers for a change. I don't see why they are getting rid of Arlene her comments to the contestants were no worse than Craig SCD wouldn't have been voted best reality show at last years NTA awards if the viewers didn't like the format or judges on the show. If the beeb want a change of judge then fine replace Arlene with someone who knows what they are talking about. A member of the public who has watched every series of SCD will know more about the dances and steps than Alesha does. What they are doing is sexism and discrimination why don't they replace Len or Bruno with a hot young male with fresh air between his ears because that is what they are doing to Arlene.
