A DATE has been set for the second Sex and the City film.
The eagerly-anticipated sequel will hit the big screen on May 28 next year.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon from the hit TV show have all signed up for the next instalment, as has writer Michael Patrick King.
Those behind the franchise are hoping for a repeat of the success of the first movie which grossed $415 million worldwide.
Filming for the follow-up is due to begin in the summer.
It’s rumoured that some of the filming will take place in London, with Big (Chris Noth) having to move to the UK for work – and then having an affair while he’s living away from Carrie (SJP).
But it’s thought that soon after their split Carrie will discover she’s pregnant.
Rumors are swirling that the big-screen Sex and the City sequel will revolve around a major bump in Carrie and Big's romance. That would set the stage nicely for an encore by Aidan, the woodworker who could never quite nail down carefree Carrie.
John Corbett, who currently calls Toni Collette wife on Showtime's United States of Tara, says that should he be needed for more Sex, he's game. "If something came my way, I'd jump on it," Aidan's portrayer tells Access Hollywood.
But since his character last was seen Bjorning around another woman's baby, Corbett suspects that "Aidan's come and gone.... I think it's really more about the girls and Carrie and Big now, so I don't think there's a place for him in there."
Indeed, there's always room for Carrie's one true love. There is talk, though, that Chris Noth is holding out for Big bucks to participate in the follow-up to last summer's blockbuster. As the actor tells the New York Daily News, "I can't imagine Sex and the City without Mr. Big!"
We'll always have that shower scene, but apparently that's it: Gilles Marini says he's most likely not going to be part of the Sex and the City sequel.
"It would be such an honor to come back, but I know for a fact that I'm not going to be in the next Sex and the City — or there's a 99 percent chance I'm not going to be part of it, I should say," Marini tells TVGuide.com.
Though I'm sure, if pressed, many fans could think of at least one reason for Marini to return, the Dancing with the Stars runner-up says that, plot-wise, it wouldn't make sense for his character, the hunky, West Coast-based Dante, to make a reappearance.
"In the first movie, Dante helped Samantha realize maybe she's not ready to be married and whatnot. But now she's back in New York, so is the guy going to go to New York and all of a sudden they're going to meet?" he says. "I believe it'd be great if I could come back, but it won't make much sense and it's pretty much a story between the four girls. I don't know if I'd say yes or no, but there's a big chance I'm not doing it."
But bigger and better things are on the horizon for the Frenchman. He's currently in talks for a "very big movie" and just inked a recurring role on Brothers & Sisters as Rachel Griffiths' character's new love interest. "As we speak, the writers are writing it. I believe she's coming back from a trip with a new guy and I'm the new guy. I'm so excited," he says. "It's a big arc. What a dream! It's really all thanks to Dancing with the Stars."
As for Dancing, Marini still wound up with a trophy on his mantle, thanks to his 10-year-old son, Georges, who crafted a huge star with the message "Daddy, you are the best. With all my love. Ten Eleven Ten. So proud, Georges." (The 11 refers to judge Len Goodman saying he wanted to give Marini that score.)
"The sentences are each on one line, so if you read the first letter from every sentence, it spells DWTS," Marini says. "I didn't even see that [at first]! I looked like an ass! But how beautiful is that? I have two trophies: one from my son and the 2008 Bravo A-List Award for Best Rear of the Year. My butt is taking me so far!"
That looks like a good date! :D
Victoria Beckham has started taking acting lessons after landing a cameo role in the new Sex And The City movie, according to a report.
The 35-year-old singer is believed to have been approached to play a fashionista in the new film when shooting begins next month.
Posh has previously revealed that she was offered a part in the first movie - but turned it down because filming clashed with rehearsals for the Spice Girls reunion tour.
A source told The Mail On Sunday: "She really wanted to be in the last movie but wasn't able to take part because of her commitments with the Spice Girls. This time she's keen to take part."
Beckham has already tried her hand at acting in the past. As well as appearing in the Spice World movie in 1997, she has filmed a guest appearance in Ugly Betty and recorded a voice role for SpongeBob SquarePants.

Katie Price is hoping to land a role in the new Sex and the City movie.
The glamour queen, 31 – who has spent thousands of pounds on acting classes in the US – has even been tested for the part.
She said: “I recently went to LA where I was doing my acting lessons for Sex and the City Part 2. They want a big-breasted English glamour girl and I have had the audition.”
Katie, better known as Jordan, also accused husband Peter Andre of using their split to plug his album, on which he sings of his break-up torment.
She told Galaxy FM radio station: “It doesn’t make sense that while he was with me he recorded horrible songs like that.”

WANNABE actress Jordan has failed to land her dream role in the Sex And The City movie sequel. She is too old
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...-audition.html
Why in the world would they want Jordan in this film? Wouldn't that be scrapping the barrel?
 thats a bit harsh, too old
She may not be too old in her actual age but she looks older then her years with the perma-tan which is a shame as I used to like her
in that article it says the role is for an irish nanny, a doubt she would be able to put on a convincing irish accent anyway!
Irish accent? Jordan? Are you trying to kill me with laughter today? :)
All she wants is to be in the spotlight 24/7, well we're not interested Jordan.
I can't see what all the hype is over her impending divorce.
People get married and divorced all the time - what makes her so different?
I think it is because it is so unexpected, it was for me, anyway. I know she was always bad-mouthing him in their shows but I thought it was deliberate to make the show more entertaining.
Your funny do think she was showing him ' tough love' in the show to make it more entertaining? :) I think she was being that way because she didn't respect him and always wanted to make sure he knew 'his place'
well thats good news, i might actually watch it then lol

Katie Holmes has been tipped for a role in the next Sex And The City movie - playing a feisty businesswoman in the upcoming sequel.
Film bosses are currently putting together a follow-up to the hit 2008 picture, which was based on the longrunning U.S. TV show.
Shooting is expected to get underway later this year and Holmes is rumoured to be in negotiations to join the cast - as a rival to Kim Cattrall's maneating character Samantha.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "The character they want her to play is a really ballsy, high-powered company executive who tangles with Samantha."
The film is slated for a May 2010 release.
Katie Holmes? Really? I will have to see it to believe it
Kim Cattrall's character tries to get pregnant in the new 'Sex and the City' movie.
The actress - who plays sex-obsessed PR guru Samantha Jones in the hit film and TV series - was spotted carrying her script for the highly-anticipated film which revealed her alter-ego is using testosterone hormones, which are sometimes taken to help women conceive.
In one scene between Samantha and her assistant Meghan, the blonde maneater knocks over a container of hormones and orders Meghan to go and get some more.
Samantha tells her: "I'm going to need you to go on a testosterone run."
Meghan replies: "I'll do it first thing tomorrow."
However, Samantha is not impressed and informs her: "I'll call the pharmacy and tell them you are on your way."
Testosterone is taken by both men and women if they have fertility problems.
As well as pregnancy rumours, Samantha's ex-boyfriend Smith Jerrod - played by Jason Lewis - is to make a return after she dumped him at the end of the last movie.
The new 'Sex and the City' film will be released next May.
I hope Smith is in the new film!
I don't fancy him at all I just think him and Samantha should be together as they had been through so much
English actor Max Ryan has been tapped as a potential love interest for Kim Cattrall in the new Sex And The City movie, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Death Race star has reportedly been cast as a European architect named Rikard who wil cross paths with Samantha Jones (Cattrall).
His previous credits include the horror film Three, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen and the Polish movie Skorumpowani.
Production on Sex And The City 2 began earlier this month in New York.

Kim Cattrall has reportedly revealed minor details from the upcoming Sex And The City movie after she inadvertently flashed a script page at photographers.
The actress, who plays Samantha Jones in the series, was snapped on the set of the film in New York clutching a page of dialogue for one of her scenes.
According to reports, the script revealed that Samantha's ex-boyfriend Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis) could be making an appearance, at least on the telephone.
One page of the document, enlarged by several websites, features a character called Meghan who informs Samantha that her former love is "on the phone".
The scene is also believed to feature a sequence where Samantha smashes a bottle of hormone pills and instructs Meghan to do a "testosterone run" and replace them.
Production on the highly-anticipated movie began in New York last week, with Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs) and Chris Noth (Mr Big) also spotted filming.

How old is Samantha supposed to be?
So basically the movie is doing flashbacks, could be interesting to see how they first became friends, because that is what the scenes look like.
Apparantly Miley Cyrus is supposed to be involved, aswell as Posh, not keen on either if I am entirely honest.
I remembered her celebrating her birthday but she was always so cloak and dagger about her age
Do you think Carrie will be pregnant in this film?
