Britney names new arrival
Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline clearly love the initials they gave their first son, Sean Preston, so much that they have used them again for their second child. According to reports the proud parents have named the new arrival Sutton Pierce.
Their little bundle of joy arrived last Tuesday at a Los Angeles hospital, just two days before his big brother turned one. They now not only share their initials but nearly the same birthday.
The new mum, who posed naked for fashion magazine Harpers Bazaar during her pregnancy, has yet to comment on the birth of her newborn, no doubt enjoying time with her family.
September isn't just a big month for Sean and Sutton. Britney, 24, and her 28-year-old rapper husband celebrate their two-year wedding anniversary on Monday.
Chris Tarrants 10 year affair!
CHRIS Tarrant's friends last night told how he turned to mistress Fiona McKechnie for comfort during his troubled marriage.
The TV favourite, 59, began his fling with glamorous Fiona, 50 - herself in a long-term relationship - just five years after tying the knot with wife Ingrid.
One of his pals confirmed: "They've been having an on-off affair for about 10 years.
"There has been a sexual element to their relationship, but more importantly, Fiona has given Chris emotional support through some tough times.
"His marriage has had some very rocky spells because Ingrid is so high-maintenance. Fiona has been a port in a storm."
The blonde primary deputy head has since 1990 been a trustee of the Headway brain injury charity, where Chris is patron.
Ingrid, 51, has had suspicions about them for months. In the summer she had private sleuths tail them in a fruitless bid to prove they were lovers and even had them fix a tracking bug to his car.
She kicked Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? star Chris out of the family home in Esher, Surrey, a week ago after he was seen snogging a woman in a nearby bar.
But news of his affair may convince the Danish mum-of-four their marriage is over. Her husband's pal added: "Ingrid will be absolutely devastated. I can't see any going back from this." However, she said she was yet to decide. She added: "I have no idea. But they say the wife's the last to know.
"I'll have to wait and see the evidence and weigh it all up. My big concern is the children." The Tarrants, who met after his first marriage broke up in 1981, have two children together - Sammy, 18, and Toby, 15.
Last night Fiona and her partner of 12 years Simon Blackwood staged a show of unity at their home but refused to deny the claims.
Company director Simon, 51, called the allegations "a storm in a teacup" and added at their £1million house in Henley, Oxon: "We're private people and are not going to comment on other people's personal affairs.
"We're together, we've been together a long time and we expect to grow old together."
Neighbours described Fiona as a modest teacher who enjoyed helping charities.
One said: "She's a lovely person and not one to seek to draw attention to herself."
Katie – the new Mrs Beckham?!
Katie Holmes is set to play Posh in a film based on David Beckham’s life story.
Katie and soon-to-be hubbie Tom Cruise are both good friends with Posh and Becks.
But Tom has missed out on the part of Golden Balls, despite suggesting the story to his former studio Paramount.
According to an LA insider, the physical difference between the two stars is ’too marked’ for Tom to play the role.

Anastacia to marry British bodyguard
American singer Anastacia is set to marry her British bodyguard, according to a report in The Sun today.
The pop diva, who shot to fame with debut single 'I'm Outta Love' in 2000, accepted the proposal by 38-year-old Wayne Newton, a martial arts expert from Kent. He has protected her on several tours and moved into her Beverley Hills home earlier this year.
A friend of the couple told The Sun that Anastacia "fell for him hook, line and sinker. It’s very sexy to have someone looking after you.
"He went down on bended knee and said he couldn’t imagine a life where he wasn’t protecting her. She said yes instantly. They are so much in love it is unbelievable."
The couple reportedly plan to marry next year.
Double joy for Marcia Cross
Pregnant Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross and new husband Tom Mahoney are reportedly expecting twins.
The couple, who wed in June, announced Cross is due to give birth in April next year.
The 44-year-old actress underwent IVF treatment earlier this year in the hope of conceiving her first child
It's thought producers of the hit show may write in Marcia's pregnancy as part of her character Bree's storyline.

Simon Cowell will be the first guest on the revamped version This Is Your Life.
The classic show will make a return later this year with a new host and new look to appeal to a younger audience.
A source told the Daily Star: "Simon's the ideal big name for our first show when we return. He's had a colourful rags-to-riches life."
Producers are also said to be lining up David Beckham for the new series.

SUPERMODEL Kate Moss and her on/off boyfriend Pete Doherty looked definitely "on" again as they flew into Ireland for the start of the Babyshambles tour in Carlow last night.
The reforming drug addict threw his arm protectively around his girlfriend's shoulder and, fingers intertwined, the pair looked every inch the loving couple.
Doherty (27) headed straight for the airport after being discharged from the Priory in London, the exclusive rehabilitation clinic where he apparently proposed to Kate (32) last week.
Yesterday, she looked gorgeous in a floral mini-dress and black tights; but her left hand was noticeably bare. Meanwhile, Doherty, dressed in black leather jacket, black jeans and embroidered white shirt, appeared to be hiding a red and swollen right eye with his trademark cap.
But the two looked delighted to be together again as they strode through the airport and headed south for the first gig of his tour.
Yesterday, the cool couple did not seem to mind the persistent snapping of the cameras as they were so lost in each other.
Pete's band played The Music Factory in Carlow last night - the second gig at the venue after a sell-out performance there in April.

Nutty loves Scary it's official
After months of gossiping Eddie Murphy has finally declared his love for former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, AKA Scary Spice.
The oddest couple in Hollywood began dating earlier this summer and are already head over heels in love, but aren't ready to wed yet.
Murphy announced on Friday in Beverley Hills: "I am madly in love with Mel -- but there are no wedding plans."
Both the former Spice Girl and the Nutty Professor star have been married before. Murphy divorced his wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy - with whom he has five children - in May after 12 years of marriage.
Mel married dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1998 but the couple got divorced three years later. They have a seven-year-old daughter called Phoenix-Chi.
Pete buys two new syringes
JUST three days and 15 hours after leaving The Priory, PETE DOHERTY has been spotted buying SYRINGES.
I had really hoped the BABYSHAMBLES singer’s latest trip to rehab would be his last.
He emerged on Monday looking healthier than I have ever seen him. But yesterday he was seen visiting a chemist in Dublin to buy two hypodermic needles.
Pete was staying at the city’s Morrison Hotel with girlfriend KATE MOSS. The supermodel joined him on his sell-out Irish tour, which ends tonight at the Heineken Festival in Waterford.
But yesterday lunchtime, before a gig, he left Kate’s side to sneak out and buy his secret package. At 12.05pm he walked into Health Express chemist in Millenium Ways, Dublin, on his own.
Wearing a scruffy white T-shirt and black suit, he left minutes later putting a bag containing two syringes into his top pocket.
An hour after he sprinted back to the couple’s hotel suite, Kate left to catch a plane back to London.
This comes just days after Pete vowed to Kate he was clean from drugs and ready to marry her.
I am so disappointed. Pete’s latest stint in The Priory was supposed to be a new turning point for the junkie rock star.
But it is time to face facts and realise this treatment is not working for him — as my picture of the singer looking bloated and sweaty on his way to yesterday’s gig proves.
What is even more terrifying is the effect on his thousands of young fans. I can reveal The Priory in North London has seen admissions of young girls go through the roof.
The impressionable teenagers have been signing up as outpatients to anxiety classes — just for a chance to see Pete.
A concerned source at the rehab hospital where JUSTIN HAWKINS and TOM CHAPLIN from KEANE were also treated, told me: “The girls turn up complaining of suffering from anxiety and start asking about Pete.
“Pete has even visited some of the girls and helped them write poems. They are hooked on his every word — it’s frightening.
“They think being in rehab is cool . . . it’s not.”
Kate was pictured earlier this week with a suspicious substance up her nose as she watched Pete from the side of the stage at a gig.
There is no doubting they are an iconic couple. But they should be smart enough to realise the influence their reckless behaviour is having on teenage fans.
Des Lynam quits 'Countdown'
Des Lynam has decided to quit Countdown after just 18 months in the presenter's chair.
The popular host told producers the news after growing tired of travelling 250 miles from West Sussex to Leeds for filming. Although Channel 4 offered to move the show to London next year, Lynam refused to inconvenience his colleagues.
"I didn't want to be responsible for that disruption. It would be unforgivable," he told The Mirror.
"When I was first asked to do the series, I asked if there was any chance of it being made in London. But it stayed in Leeds. Then the number of shows a year went up from 180 to more than 200. I was travelling up and down to Leeds sometimes every week.
"We do five shows in a day which everybody finds extremely tiring. It's the sort of schedule I don't want to commit myself to any more. I've decided that after a year and a half, that'll do nicely. I'm going to withdraw and save the wear and tear."
New Start for the Beckhams?
The Beckhams might soon hit America, according to reports. Apparently, the couple are hoping to start a new life there in a bid to make mega-bucks.
George Michael in Cannabis Caution
Singer George Michael has been cautioned for possessing cannabis after being arrested in north London.
The 43-year-old star was arrested on Sunday after motorists called police to report a car causing an obstruction at traffic lights in Cricklewood.
Police confirmed the driver was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive and drug possession.
He was later cautioned and released on police bail pending further inquiries on his fitness to drive.
Police said an ambulance was called and Mr Michael was taken to a west London hospital as a "precautionary measure" after he was arrested.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "At approximately 3.22am on Sunday morning officers were informed of a stationary vehicle with a driver inside causing an obstruction at traffic lights in Cricklewood Lane near its junction with Hendon Way, NW2.
"Officers arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of being unfit to drive and possession of a controlled substance believed to be cannabis."
Mr Michael was cautioned by police for possessing cannabis after being found in his car at Hyde Park Corner in February.
The singer recently embarked on his first live tour for more than 15 years, with the UK leg due to begin in November.
Robbie's "Angel" speaks out
Robbie Williams is a one-woman man and has been for the last year and a half, according to reports.
The Sunday Mirror claims the singer has been dating a barmaid from New Zealand for the last 18 months.
Charlotte Austin, 26, met Robbie when she was working at Chelsea's Conrad Hotel.
Robbie was hiding out from paparazzi at the hotel when the two struck up a conversation.
According to the barmaid, she joked with Robbie and said the snappers were actually after a picture of her, not him.
'He laughed and he told me I was a fabulous-looking girl,' she recalls, adding that they 'hit it off right away'.
Ms Austin told the newspaper that dating a star of Robbie's famous proportion is 'empowering'.
However, it's not just fun and games. 'At other times he's just your mate Rob and you miss him just because you want to spend time with him,' she explained.
Matt Damon famously met his wife Luciana when she was a barmaid. The two subsequently tied the knot and are now parents to a baby girl, Isabella.
'Madonna adopts orphaned baby'
Madonna has adopted a one-year-old orphan from Malawi, according to officials in the African nation.
The 48-year-old singer apparently jetted over to pick out a little boy from a shortlist of 12 impoverished children.
Madge, who already has two children by her husband Guy Ritchie, supports a charity called Raising Malawi, which seeks to help children without parents in the Aids-ridden East African state.
Government spokesman Adrina Michiela said: "She asked us to identify boys only, which we have done after visiting four orphanages in Lilongwe."
Under Malawi law, non-residents who adopt a child normally have to stay with them for 18 months while officials assess their suitability for adoption.
Because Madonna was unable to stay in the country for that length of time, it is believed that the boy will be cared for by the orphanage she set up in the meantime.
Despite officials confirming the adoption, Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg, denied the claims.
She said: "She is building an orphanage and child care centre and is involved in other initiatives geared toward helping children orphaned by Aids through the Raising Malawi Organisation. She has not adopted a baby."
Magnusson faces cancer treatment
Former Mastermind presenter and author Magnus Magnusson has been diagnosed with cancer.
He has cancelled a number of public appearances, including a talk at the Cheltenham Literature Festival to mark his 77th birthday.
A statement from the family said the presenter was undergoing tests, but was "in good fettle".
He fronted Mastermind for 25 years and has recently been promoting his new book Fakers, Forgers and Phoneys.
The Festival's co-ordinator Christin Stein said "It is of course very disappointing that he cannot be here, especially as he was also going to be one of the judges in an educational event.
"We are very sorry for the audience who will not have a chance to see him after all."
His daughter, Sally, is also a TV presenter but the family said they had no further comment at the moment.
Cruise and Holmes set wedding day
Hollywood couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are to marry in Italy on 18 November, their spokesman has said.
Arnold Robinson told the Associated Press news agency Holmes would wear a dress worn by Giorgio Armani.
The couple became engaged in June 2005, just two months after they were first photographed together in Rome.
Cruise, 44, said he proposed to Holmes, 27, on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The couple's daughter, Suri, was born in April.
Pictures of the baby were released last month, showing the parents with Suri peeking from inside Cruise's leather jacket.
Cruise's public comments about his relationship with Holmes made headlines. In August, Paramount Pictures and Cruise ended their 14-year working relationship, with the studio claiming "his recent conduct has not been acceptable".
Holmes criticised the media's attitude to the couple in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, which published the photographs of Suri.
"To see how someone as caring and good as Tom is, to see how things can just get so twisted and turned around... where does it come from?" she said.
Elle MacPherson dating Ray Fearon
Supermodel Elle MacPherson is reportedly dating 'Strictly Come Dancing' star Ray Fearon, who previously starred in 'Coronation Street'.
According to the News of the World, the pair dined together at Eight Over Eight restaurant in London last Friday night.
An onlooker was quoted as saying: "They were having a wonderful time, Ray was making Elle laugh and she looked like she didn't want the evening to end."

The newspaper printed photographs of the pair leaving the restaurant in the model's car after their meal.
Fearon, who played the part of mechanic Nathan Cooper in 'Coronation Street', is currently taking to the floor in 'Strictly Come Dancing' each Saturday night.
Britney has filed for divorce!
Spears filed legal papers today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences." In her petition, Spears asks for both legal and physical custody of the couple's two children, one-year old Sean Preston and two-month old Jayden James, with Federline getting reasonable visitation rights. As for money, sources tell TMZ the couple, who married in Sept. 2004, has an iron-clad prenup. Not surprisingly, Spears is waiving her right to spousal support. She's also asking the judge to make each party pay their own attorney's fees.
Spears gives the date of separation as yesterday, the same day she flaunted her incredible revamped physique during a surprise appearance on David Letterman's show. Sources tell TMZ there was no single reason for Britney pulling the plug, rather, it was "a string of events."
Spears has hired powerhouse celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has repped a number of celebs, including Angelina Jolie, Nick Lachey and Kiefer Sutherland. We're told Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe asked Wasser to rep both of them in their split, but Wasser declined for personal reasons.
