Neighbours has delivered a huge cliffhanger on Australian screens today (September 20), as Nicolette Stone made a shock return.
Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes) has been away from Erinsborough for several weeks, although Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) did track her down in Canberra in mid-August, bribing her with $1,000,000 for baby Isla and for her never to return. At the time, Nicolette accepted the bribe but handed over a different baby.
So it's probably no surprise that Paul had a panicked expression on his face when he saw Nicolette again.
Today's episode picked up straight after last Thursday's cliffhanger, which saw (the fake) baby Isla being kidnapped at the Shorts and Briefs film festival by newcomer Britney Barnes (Montana Cox).
The police quickly got involved, as David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) and Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) were left distraught.
David ? being the only other person apart from Paul who knows that Nicolette is not really in the US ? suspected Nicolette was the kidnapper, until a photo of Britney with the baby was found.
Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson) spent much of the episode with a feeling that she had seen Britney before, aside from the brief conversation they shared just before the film festival. And she was right ? she later realised she saw a pregnant Britney on CCTV footage outside Leo Tanaka's vineyard.
Levi Canning (Richie Morris) eventually tracked down Britney at the community centre with 'Isla'. The kidnapper dropped the bombshell to Levi that she's the real mother of this particular baby.
At Number 32, David, Aaron, and Paul, as well as Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) and Jane Harris (Annie Jones), listened as Levi told them on the phone that Isla has been found and taken to hospital as a precaution.
As David and Aaron prepared to head to the hospital, everyone was stunned to see Nicolette walking into the house ? with the real baby Isla. Is she back for good?
Tomorrow's episode will explore the fallout of Nicolette's return, as well as reveal the father of Britney's baby.
These scenes will air in the UK in early October.

Neighbours has revealed a first look at Nicolette Stone's new romance plot, as sparks fly between her and newcomer Kiri Hua Durant.
Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes) is among the group of Erinsborough residents who decide to take a trip away to River Bend and, during their getaway, Nicolette finds herself becoming enamoured with the charming Kiri (Gemma Bird Matheson).
Nicolette decides to throw herself into her holiday romance and as the pair get to know each other better, the signs are promising.
Despite the fact that Nicolette can't help putting her foot in it, Kiri still appears to be just as charmed as she is and the pair lean in for a kiss.
Things are starting to look steamy for the potential couple at River Bend ? could this be the start of a blossoming new relationship?
Neighbours announced the casting of Gemma Bird Matheson as new regular Kiri earlier this month, with the character described as "a bit mysterious and flirty", "very morally-driven", and "a good girl at heart" ? which could be potentially promising traits for an ongoing romance with Nicolette.
"(Kiri) definitely finds herself in the middle of a lot of drama," Matheson said when the news of her casting was revealed, adding that she feels "honoured" to be a part of the soap's cast.
"I was also excited by what this representation would mean for a lot of people, especially on such a mainstream show," she said.
"I'm a big advocate for queer people playing queer roles. I'm excited about this representation for several reasons ? I get to play myself, a queer Papua New Guinean Christian. That's pretty monumental."
Unfortunately, the River Bend getaway isn't quite as relaxing for some of the other Erinsborough residents who are on the trip, as Freya Wozniak (Phoebe Roberts) finds herself being held hostage by her ex, Gareth Bateman (Jack Pearson), and Levi Canning (Richie Morris) is shot.

In upcoming scenes, Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes) will realise Kiri (Gemma Bird Matheson) and Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) are getting closer than ever and that she can't continue pining for Kiri hoping they will get back together.
Nicolette will then try to get back on the dating scene, telling her mum Jane (Annie Jones) she intends to find someone and get back out there. Jane will be thrilled to help her, having a very handy list of dating apps she can use.
Meanwhile, over at Number 24, the tension between Kiri and Chloe will build up.
As Kiri is struggling at work, she suggests that she and Chloe can have another platonic sleepover. Knowing she feels vulnerable, however, Chloe decides to have some boundaries in place.
Kiri accepts the offer, despite struggling to hide her undeniable attraction for Chloe.
Elsewhere on Ramsay Street, Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) will receive a surprise visit from her estranged mother, Estelle Petrides (Maria Mercedes).
Terese is upset that Estelle showed up, while her mother claims she only wants to support her through her divorce from Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).
Yet, it looks like Estelle is hiding the truth from her daughter and has ulterior motives.

Neighbours star Hannah Monson has revealed Nicolette's future following the fan-favourite character's return.
Show bosses shared the news of Nicolette's return, alongside Aaron Brennan and David Tanaka, ahead of the soap's Flashback Week.
In a new video posted to Neighbours' Instagram account, Monson shared her excitement at joining the cast and teased her character's future storylines. "I'm settling in well, everyone's so nice. I found out that I was playing Nicolette on my birthday, which was very nice," she began.

"Taking on the role of Nicolette, I felt really great. I think that she's a really interesting, juicy character which is want you want as an actor."
Nicolette was previously played by Charlotte Chimes, who decided not to return for the new season after starring on the show between 2020 and 2022. Bosses decided to recast rather than lose the character ? in a similar fashion to Nicolette's brother Byron.
"It's really nice taking on the baton I guess, from someone else and someone so talented and that played the role so beautifully as Charlotte," said Monson.
"I'm queer and I'm playing a queer character, and that's not the Neighbours that I remember back then. There's been queer characters on it for a while now but it feels really nice to be in that capacity," she continued, explaining her kinship with the character.
Teasing the exciting future that awaits Nicolette on her return to Ramsay Street, Monson concluded: "Coming up for Nicolette, I'm going to say some anarchist behaviour. Honestly, secret after secret is revealed. It's pretty juicy."
The special week of episodes treated fans to a series of flashbacks, helping to shed light on the various mysteries of the new season ? including why Nicolette, David and Aaron really left Erinsborough. The trio featured in present-day scenes, as well as the all-important flashbacks.

The trio's celebrations are short-lived when Nicolette is arrested for unlawful assembly, property damage and affray.

When Nicolette discovers a mysterious key in Jane's garden clogs, her intuition warns her something sinister is at play in this week's Neighbours.
Puzzled by the key, Nicolette's (Hannah Monson) subconscious is triggered by a photo of her ex-girlfriend Kiri (Gemma Bird Matheson), which causes her to investigate a particular name ? Sasha ? that might be linked to the unexplained key.
"Sasha is the leader of Kiri's church," Hannah, 31, tells TV WEEK. "Nicolette never trusted him and, wanting to convince Kiri he was a bad person, swayed him into cheating on his wife with her."
Things get weirder when Nicolette's friend Byron (Xavier Molyneux) discovers another secret key hidden under Nicolette's front doormat.

Nicolette takes drastic action as she hopes to get Veronica out of her life for good, but her latest decision only makes matters worse.
Veronica blames Nicolette for her split from her husband Sasha and his subsequent disappearance. Since arriving on our screens earlier this month, she has been putting pressure on Nicolette to track down Sasha.
So far, Veronica has shown what she's capable of by briefly abducting Isla Tanaka, as well as distributing private images of Nicolette to humiliate her.
Next week, Nicolette sees a light at the end of the tunnel when Sasha offers to meet her. Nicolette tells Sasha that Veronica has been stalking her, so she needs him to get in touch with his ex to give her the closure she needs.
This suggestion goes down badly with Sasha, who's unsure whether he wants to see Veronica again.
Sasha changes the subject by urging Nicolette to admit that there was a genuine connection between them. Nicolette denies that it was anything more than a scheme to her, but there's a sense that she may not be telling the truth.

There is a shortage of characters on the show. Need a bigger cast to create better SLs. Its been disappointing so far. Only real interesting SL for me was the WYD with JJAY. Still think ANDREW could be, though PAULs name has come up now. Another child, seriously?? I hope not.

Nicolette feels burdened by the responsibility to be strong for everyone else, as the emotional aftermath of David Tanaka's death continues.
Show bosses have revealed that Aaron will do a disappearing act following his husband's recent funeral, leaving Nicolette with the sole responsibility of looking after their child Isla.
While everyone else starts to worry about Aaron's absence, Nicolette takes a harsher stance and struggles to feel any sympathy.
Although Nicolette understands that Aaron is acting out of grief, she struggles to forgive him for abandoning their family. She also resents having to be the one who explains Aaron's disappearance to Isla.
Isla becomes troubled by Aaron not being around, especially so soon after David's death. In an emotional moment, the youngster expresses fears that Nicolette might suddenly disappear too.

Love the chemistry between PAUL and this new version of NICOLETTE played by HANNAH! The two actors play really well off each other. Writers should strengthen their bond and give them a great SL involving business and growth. NICOLETTE can be the path to redemption for PAUL.

Aaron recently angered Nicolette after confessing to taking drugs with Krista Sinclair, following the tragic loss of his husband David. After learning of his substance abuse, Nicolette warned Aaron that he wouldn't be able to see Isla until he sorts himself out.
In scenes set to air on Thursday, May 2, Aaron worries after Nicolette threatens to stop him from spending time with Isla, following his secret drug use.
Trying to wrap his head around the ultimatum, Nicolette's mum Jane tries to reassure Aaron that Isla won't be taken away from him.
After speaking to Jane, Aaron agrees to let her deal with Nicolette while he concentrates on getting clean.
Later, Jane calls Nicolette out on weaponising Isla and reminds her of Aaron and David's compassion towards her after learning she had kept his daughter from them.
The conversation sparks some remorse in Nicolette, who exchanges apologies with Aaron and assures him they are still a family, even after David's death.
Nicolette then encourages Aaron to see more of Isla, but when he's out of sight, she opens a list of his transgressions on her phone and adds a new entry ? detailing Aaron's drug and alcohol use. Will Aaron find out about Nicolette's secret list?
It's set to become an even busier time for Nicolette as her father Victor (played by A Place To Call Home actor Craig Hall) will finally arrive on screen next month.
Details of Victor's storyline are yet to be revealed, but the official billing for his arrival on Tuesday, May 14 reads: "A surprise guest on Ramsay Street upsets the status quo."

Amira, the older sister of Haz, recently arrived in town to check on the health of her brother after ex-girlfriend Mackenzie Hargreaves accidentally ran him over, but she doesn?t have plans to stay much longer than that.
Nicolette, meanwhile, has been rocked by the news that her father, Victor, is dying. The news causes Victor to dedicate more time to knowing his children before he passes away.
In scenes set to air on May 30 and June 3, Nicolette will tell Victor of her brief fling with Amira. Noticing how happy Nicolette was after talking about Amira, Vic took matters into his own hands as he told Amira to seize the day with his daughter.
Nicolette, however, was mortified to hear what her father had done, and she told him to back off from getting involved in her personal matters. She subsequently orders him to tell Amira that he was misguided in his previous comments.

Hoping for a second shot at love, Nicolette is desperate to impress her ex-girlfriend Kiri at their first work event as a team.
"Nicolette (Hannah Monson) has been pining for Kiri (Gemme Bird Matheson) for a long time", Hannah, 32, tells TV WEEK. "She loves her and wants her back, but doesn't let herself be too hopeful."
This week in Neighbours, Leo (Tim Kano), Nicolette and her brother Byron (Xavier Molyneux) are still doing all they can to save vineyard Yorokobi from closing. Kiri, who's Leo's cousin, wants to help too, bringing her back into Nicolette's orbit after a messy break-up.

Neighbours has confirmed a romantic reunion for Nicolette Stone and Kiri Durant.
Kiri recently returned to Erinsborough and has begun working with ex-girlfriend Nicolette as they both hope to buy into Leo Tanaka's vineyard.
However, new scenes will see the former couple reignite their romantic spark while working at the vineyard.
In the scenes set to air next week, Nicolette tries to impress Leo and Kiri at their first vineyard event, but is hampered by her struggles to find a babysitter for Isla.
However, Kiri suggests she bring her daughter to work, spurred on by Mackenzie's suggestion that she consider whether her feelings for Nicolette have improved.
The two begin to reconnect and reignite their spark during the event, and its success leads to the team being asked to submit a pitch for a new 'Melbourne Experiences' tour.
While Leo is unsure they can pull something together in time, Nicolette and Kiri manage to work out a strong concept. As a result of their hard work, Leo suggests they make their co-partnership official, leading to celebrations.
Given the trust he is placing in his new partners, Krista tells Leo about Byron's sabotage of his potential deal with another investor. Angered, Leo confronts Byron and ends their deal before Byron can explain.
A devastated Byron apologises to Nicolette about her involvement in the messy situation, though she admits she's more upset about no longer being in Kiri's orbit.
Byron tells Kiri about Nicolette's feelings, urging her not to let his mistake stand in the way of their spark. She's encouraged by his plea, and joins Nicolette and Isla for their beach trip.
The relaxed mood spurs Nicolette on to admit her feelings, asking Kiri if there could be another chance for them.
While Kiri admits she wants to give things another go, she is holding back until Nicolette says she misses her and wants her back. Kiri then interrupts her with a kiss, as Nicolette reciprocates.

Upcoming episodes see Aaron reach out to Remi Varga-Murphy for support at the hospital, as he believes that he could have contracted Hepatitis B when he spent the night with Logan.
As Aaron undergoes tests and awaits his results, he begs Remi to respect his confidentiality by not telling anyone about his suspicions. However, Nicolette later discovers the truth when she overhears Aaron on the phone to Logan.
Nicolette believes that Aaron should be keeping her updated about his health and his personal life for the sake of their young daughter Isla.
Despite this, Nicolette's girlfriend Kiri Durant feels differently, urging her to show more compassion to Aaron.
