swiney cheat hurting lisa and belle no way back for him
I like Zak and Joanie I find Lisa annoying she is a miserable cow.
Emmerdale's Zak Dingle is taking a break from the show so actor Steve Halliwell can spend more time with his family, he announced today.
The 56-year-old actor, who has played flat-capped layabout Zak since 1994, said: "After the best part of a decade with the programme, I feel that now is the time to leave Zak behind for a little while."
He added: "I love Zak, I love Emmerdale but I've asked for a spell out to spend some quality time with my family and friends."
Halliwell said programme makers had been supportive of his request to take time away from the show.
He said there had been no rows or money issues behind his request.
"I have absolutely no axe to grind with Emmerdale or those who make it. This isn't about salary or storylines, it is quite simply that I'm ready for some down time and looking forward to a rest."
"I've just got to pick up the phone and they'll write me back into storylines."
Emmerdale producer Steve Frost said Zak's spell away from the show will begin towards the end of the year, but the rest of the Dingle clan will remain.

I hope he don't leave with Joanie, let him go off alone to see his daughter Tina as Cain isn't allowing him to go to Ireland :p
As he knows now about Gordon, do you think he may kill him or hurt him seriously and end up going to prison
Emmerdale's Zak Dingle hasn't been in the good books of many fans recently, but he was back to his best on Tuesday night (April 12) for a touching scene with David Metcalfe.
David turned to Zak (Steve Halliwell) for some much-needed advice after receiving the upsetting news that he'd have to lose a testicle as part of his battle against cancer.
Knowing that Zak has also fought testicular cancer, David felt that he was the best person to seek out for an emotional heart-to-heart.
Giving honest but heartfelt advice, Zak was the perfect confidant for David.

Zak's relationship with Joanie Wright (Denise Black) has turned him into a divisive figure both on screen and off recently, but there's no doubt that he's still one of the village's good guys.

when is he off, hoping he don't marry joanie, lisa even if they are ruined only woman for him
I know Zac insists he loves Joanie and maybe he does a bit but I still think he would love to get back with Lisa if he was given half a chance!
Emmerdale has released some exciting new pictures teasing the moment Zak Dingle could find himself caught out over his rekindled feelings for his wife Lisa.
The pair hit the rocks on Christmas Day last year when Zak's affair with Joanie Wright was exposed, but it looks like he might have a change of heart over the festive season. Starting with this moment right here...
When Lisa volunteers herself for the job of Mrs Claus, she suggests Zak for Father Christmas, thinking it's the perfect solution to get him some money for the house.

However, as everyone waits to see Santa at the factory, Lisa's unimpressed when Zak admits he hasn't told Joanie about his new job - and more to the point, that he will be working so closely with his ex-wife.
And it looks like he could be rumbled when Joanie's grandson waits in line to see Santa. The pictures appear to show Ronnie jumping in to save his bacon, but could Zak still be caught out?
Either way, we know that Joanie will pick up on just how much Zak misses his family as Christmas Day itself arrives. But the big question is whether he will fight for his marriage, or turn back to Lisa...
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday, December 22 at 7pm on ITV.

Emmerdale is lining up a huge blunder for a troubled Zak Dingle as he feeds his vegan customers meat burgers next week.
Zak (Steve Halliwell) has been struggling to make ends meet for a while now, but will hit rock bottom in future scenes when he is unable to pay his bills.
Taking sympathy on Zak, a kind-hearted Sam suggests that he help Victoria (Isobel Hodgins prepare food for Chrissie's (Louise Marwood) vegan festival.
However, Sam could live to regret the idea when it becomes clear that a hostile Zak isn't the easiest employee and has no interest in being in the kitchen.

So when Victoria becomes too busy to man the stall at the vegan market, Zak is happy to step in to replace her, but is left disheartened when he struggles to make any sales.
Feeling inspired, Zak hits upon an idea and puts some meat burgers on the BBQ to improve profits – unaware that this isn't allowed (unsurprisingly, given that it's a vegan event).
As Zak sets about selling the meat burgers, how will the vegans react if they discover what they are really eating?

Emmerdale has answered a big question about Zak Dingle in the wake of Caleb's hospitalisation.
The patriarch of the Dingles attracted some theories about possible involvement in the attack on Caleb, when it was revealed that he was definitely hiding something from Chas.
Tuesday's (June 20) episode centred around doctors deciding whether it was time to take Caleb off his sedation while police were keen to speak with both Cain and Mack about the attack.
Over at the hospital, Charity was stunned by the police treating Mack "like a suspect". When Chas asked why her relative would even care about Mack, Charity pointed out that she doesn't want someone innocent "going down for murder".
"We don't even know that he is [innocent]," Chas hit back.
Chas put blame on Charity, telling her that if Mack is guilty, then Charity is equally to blame for sleeping with Caleb behind his back.
"Oh, so by the same token, you killed Al," Charity pointed out.
Nicky turned up for a frosty reunion with his relatives, revealing he'd been staying with his mysterious mum since Caleb's evil plot against Kim Tate was exposed. Chas and Charity promised they'd stand by Nicky since he's "family now".
Back at the Dingle farm, Cain broke the news to Zak that police had held Mack at the station for 18 hours. Chas soon returned to accuse Cain of letting Mack "take the rap" for something he'd done.
"I've told you, it wasn't me," Cain insisted.
Chas then questioned why Zak and Cain were constantly having "secret little chats", and although Zak tried to deflect, he admitted Caine was walking Monty for him at the time of the attack. Zak explained that he'd been having mobility issues and thus can no longer walk his dog, therefore Cain has kindly agreed to lend a hand.
"I can't get about like I used to, can I?" Zak told her.
Cain had agreed to keep the struggles secret after finding Zak on the floor one day, as Zak was worried that the rest of the family would overreact if they knew.
"I feel a prize idiot, now," Chas admitted.
As viewers have no doubt seen by now, the climactic final moments of the episode featured Nicky weeping at his father's bedside, confessing that he thought he'd "killed" his father when he pushed Caleb in the forest. Will Mack still go down for the crime?

Emmerdale has confirmed that it will write the death of Zak Dingle into the soap following the death of Steve Halliwell, who played the iconic character for 29 years.
Zak has been living in Scotland with granddaughter Debbie since moving away from the village, with several of his family members having made trips to visit him off-screen.
However, the family will receive tragic news later this year when they learn that Zak has died.
Halliwell passed away peacefully in December last year at the age of 77, having played Dingle patriarch Zak since 1994.
Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper has told Digital Spy and other media that fans can expect to see a fitting tribute to both Zak and Steve in a future storyline, as the Dingle family gathers to remember Zak's life.
"The Dingles have been at the heart of our show for 30 years now and will continue to be so," she said.
"We lost Steve recently ? the very sad loss of Steve. So we're going to be marking Zak's passing ? the iconic Zak Dingle character ? in the coming months with a Dingle funeral."
Roper added that filming the funeral scenes will be "very difficult for a lot of people who work on our show and a lot of our viewers who have grown and loved Zak for many, many years.
"But there'll be a hugely fitting tribute for such an iconic character coming up," she confirmed.
When Halliwell's death was announced, Emmerdale paid tribute to the much-loved actor in a statement, saying: "Steve will forever be synonymous with Emmerdale. The proud defender and head of the Dingle family.
"Heart and humour in all he did, it has been and always will be impossible not to smile when you think of him."
Many of Emmerdale's cast members also shared praise for their co-star following his passing.
Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle star Lisa Riley, thanked him for "years of laughter" and said he was "adored, loved [and] respected by us all".
She added: "A LEGEND in my eyes, that's for sure ? we have stories and memories to last for many more years to come."

Emmerdale star James Hooton has addressed the soap's upcoming funeral storyline for Zak Dingle.
The show will write in the death of the character after the passing of actor Steve Halliwell last year, with the village set to be informed that Zak has died off-screen in Scotland.
Appearing on Loose Women yesterday (July 10), Hooton ? who plays Sam Dingle on the soap ? was asked about the upcoming tribute to Zak.
"I think it's August we start filming which sort of tackles Zak passing away," he revealed. "Obviously, Steve passed away at the back end of last year, with his funeral early this year.
"So, I don't know much about how the story unfolds at the moment but I think it's going to be a really respectful passing of a really iconic Emmerdale character."
Speaking earlier this month, Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper revealed that the soap will include a "fitting tribute" to Zak and actor Steve.
"The Dingles have been at the heart of our show for 30 years now and will continue to be so," she told Digital Spy and other media.
"We lost Steve recently ? the very sad loss of Steve. So we're going to be marking Zak's passing ? the iconic Zak Dingle character ? in the coming months with a Dingle funeral."
Roper said that filming the funeral scenes will be "very difficult" for many people on the soap and "a lot of our viewers who have grown and loved Zak for many, many years".
"But there'll be a hugely fitting tribute for such an iconic character coming up," she added.
Halliwell's passing was announced in December 2023 at the age of 77, with the soap and many of its cast members paying tribute to the star.
