as a now unemployed person i am enjoying most the WC, that will change soon though when im working so i am enjoying it while i can. Im looking forward to tonight as well, will be cheering on Mexico as well.
I have also discovered i want the underdog to win in all the matches, mnakes it far more exciting.

my thoughts exactly, i said to my dad at least we would have played! The French looked half asleep! Mexico outplayed them in all parts of the field. The amount of shooting chances they had showed.
I do think that this new ball has something to so with the amount of shots which are going over the bar, interestingly my dad said that the only teams that have practiced with this type of ball are Argentina and Germany, who even plalyed all last season with it in the bundesliga, in england and the premier leagie and other countries they are contracted to play with another bal.
Germany just did their homework.. they lack WC experience but they make up for that with togetherness, enthusiasm and spirit.. something the French team totally lacked last night... I would love Germany to do really well for some obvious reasons (my son is half German and I will be in Germany for the final) but also to slate the critics who said they were too young and inexperienced
I said at the very start when my uncle asked three teams who to worry about and i said Argentina Germany and Spain, so far to of them have been right. I think that the fact they are young is a good thing, you can tell they have been picked for there playing ability and not the fact they are a big name.
I think the experience things doesnt matter, thats whats great about the world cup as everyone starts with the same points in the same points. The way the Germans pass the ball, its just fantastic. Im also hoping that Jerome Boeteng gets to play, Man City have just bought him, hes only 21 but meant to be a really good player. I also like the speed of the German team as well. Comparing to France where it was so slow!
They totally impressed me... Unlike England, who I feel rely too much on Rooney, they don't need a big name striker to lift them and drive them forward. After seen Mexico last night, they are also ones to watch.. Francisco Rodriguez is an amazing defender and Santo can run.. Was not impressed by Spain or Italy so far.

i dont either, they havent got a clue. thought Rooneys attitude stunk after the match, those ffans wil have paid a fortune to travel out there, they should book at that disgraceful performance.
I dont care if a team loses, but i prefer if they lose with some fight! they were really lethargic looking.
France kicked striker Nicolas Anelka out of their World Cup squad on Saturday after he launched a foul-mouthed tirade at coach Raymond Domenech at half-time of the 2-0 defeat to Mexico.
L'Equipe sports daily claimed the Chelsea forward told Domenech to "go screw yourself, dirty son of a whore" in the dressing room at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane after the coach criticised his first-half performance in Thursday's match.
The France Football Federation (FFF) said 31-year-old Anelka would leave South Africa on Saturday after he refused to apologise for his "unacceptable" remarks.
"Anelka's remarks are totally unacceptable for the FFF, French football and the values it defends," said an FFF statement.
"Informed late in the evening on Friday about the serious incident at half-time in the match between France and Mexico, the president of the FFF, Jean-Pierre Escalettes, asked Nicolas Anelka, in the presence of captain Patrice Evra, to apologise.
"With the refusal of the player to publicly apologise, it was decided in full agreement with the coach and members of the delegation in Knysna to exclude Nicolas Anelka from the squad.
"He will leave the French training camp tonight."
FFF vice-president Noel Le Graet said Anelka's behaviour was even more inexplicable because Domenech has championed the cause of the 31-year-old striker over the past two years even when his performances for France had been criticised.
"I find it unbelievable, because if anyone has protected Anelka, it has been Domenech," Le Graet said.
"Domenech has played Anelka throughout the past two years."
Anelka's tirade came after Domenech told Anelka to stop straying out of position against Mexico after a first half when France barely threatened the Mexican goal, L'Equipe reported.
When Anelka took issue with the criticism, Domenech threatened to substitute him, prompting the player to make his foul-mouthed outburst, the newspaper said.
Domenech replaced Anelka with Andre-Pierre Gignac for the second half of the match, but Mexico went on to secure victory with two second-half goals, leaving France - the beaten finalists four years ago - staring elimination in the face.
If their Group A rivals Uruguay and Mexico draw in their match on Tuesday, the French will fail to qualify for the last 16 of the tournament regardless of their own result against host nation South Africa.
Anelka's dismissal from the squad comes amid a dreadful World Cup for France, whose camp has reportedly been riven with disputes between Domenech and his players.
Domenech was reported to have clashed with striker Florent Malouda earlier in the tournament, although the player and team management denied there had been a problem.
Anelka has scored 14 times for France in 71 internationals and Domenech started him in attack in France's first match of the tournament, a 0-0 draw with Uruguay when he was substituted after 72 minutes, and in the Mexico match.
The much-travelled striker, who has played for eight clubs in his career, was a key part of the Chelsea team which won a Premier League and FA Cup double this season.
But past disagreements with coaches led British tabloids to christen him "The Incredible Sulk".
In France, the Quick burger restaurant chain announced Saturday it would withdraw advertising material featuring Anelka.

The French are falling apart though as a team, and the way they are behaving is typical of the big names they have in there side, i think the henry gallas anelka era is over they need to make way for a new team.

yeh i saw a bit of that game, brazil are very quick, cote d'ivore are looking a little slow, they have another half though and the mighty Sven at the helm so you never know till full time they may pull something out the back. Im noticing alot of the premier league players seem to be off there game, they are looking a lot slower than other leagues players, especially those from the bundesliga.
Bloody hell, Kaka sent off :eek: he never toughed the guys face though, a bit of shouldering, no more, disgraceful refereering in this World Cup. They should get video evidence for these cases where the ref has a blind spot like they have in other sports now
Kaka should never have got sent off. he never hit that ivory coast players face. Italy were shocking again. As for England they deserve to be put out. They are not playing as a team. The only time they pass the ball is to their fellow club team mates. Rooney's not getting the chance to score goals because no one will pass him the ball, and when anyone of them are near the goal area they just waste the chances. I wanted England to go through so they could get thumped by Germany but they don't deserve to progress

Jokes aside though the performance of the English Team has been pitiful in South Africa. Before they left they had the world cup won and it was only a matter of turning up to collect it.
Its the fans who spent thousands that I feel sorry for.
On paper England are a very strong squad, I just feel that they are individuals looking for glory rather than a team... and again,they rely too much on Rooney
I am going to have a big rant here (As an irish person I think I am entitled to this).. I just read that some French players are not even going to bother turn up for the game today against South Africa.. that makes my blood boil.. Ok, there was no guarantee that we would have beaten France on penalties for Ireland to make it to the world cup but to go out on a hand ball and then to see these so called professional player behaving like kids is the biggest insult!
Ireland would have played, we might have had our asses kicked in the group round but my god, we would have put our heart and souls into each game to show that we tried and we were proud to play for our country.. In 2002 when our Manager sent home Roy Keane for the abuse he gave, the rest of the players got their heads down and played and showed spirit.
Big babies is all I can say about France, if they don't win like a child, they take the ball home!! I am annoyed and disgusted with these players... Have some spirit! Young kids look up to you to encourage them.. you are their heroes.. Behave like one

I actaully enjoyed the football today
Germany Ghana was a good match, very end to end, enjoyed the battle of the Boeteng brothers who were playing against each other, i bet that doesnt happen very often in internationals.
England Germany should be good at the weekend.
I have a long sunday of Sport... GP at 12 then Germany V England at 3... should be a good game.. last nights game was a cracker.. Ghana only needed a draw but they played like it was the final.. both teams were brilliant!!
Here we go again with another World Cup soap scheduling update for Week 26, the fourth consecutive week of schedule disruptions.
For me, the schedules are about as annoying as a droning vuvuzela.
The following schedules are confirmed up until Thursday. Friday's schedules are still TBC.
At present, it appears that EastEnders will be broadcast for an hour on the Wednesday and for 30 minutes the following evening.
ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale, meanwhile, look to be scheduled with their normal patterns - aside from an hour-long episode on the Tuesday.
If, however, ITV air the football during Week 26, any episodes currently slated for the Monday, Tuesday or Friday will be rescheduled.
That said, this is why the BBC have scheduled EastEnders on the unaffected days. Wherever the football falls, 'Enders will remain in its Wednesday and Thursday slots.
Holby City, meanwhile, hopes to air two episodes during the week in a bid to make up for the missing ep from the previous week. This, however, is football-dependent.
