I was in Woolies in Durham on Sat and looked around it and thought nooo wonder they are in trouble...they sell tat and rubbish and the store itself was dirty and in need of a major refurb.Quote:

WHSmith beats Woolies any day, and Ryman for that matter. Smith's stores are always clean and well laid out. My local Woolies back home has too many aisles which make it difficult to get around.
my 7yr old neice calls the pic n mix at woolies candyking cos thats whats written on the bags! so now we keep saying if woolies goes where will we get our candyking from!!
The nearest W H Smith is 6 miles away which is actually more expensive to get to by bus than somewhere 9 miles in the other direction :eek: Ryman is like 33 miles away. I love Ryman though, they actually do white A4 card and I got my friend a battery powered pencil sharpener in there for her birthday because our tutor has an electric one which she's fascinated with.
I only like Woolworth's polly pockets :( They're thinner but really smooth. Haha I'm a total geek with stuff like this.

Never even heard of Ryman :S Miles prefer Woolies over Smiths. Cheaper for people like me who are constantly skint lol. I love Woolies to be honest. Really gonna miss it!
