Part 4.


An hour later Sharon and Dennis are walking to the Vic. Sharon stops and stares up at the pub she so desperately wants back.
"Dennis we have to get this place back. I want to raise our baby here."
"All we can do is try Sharon but if i'm honest I can't see how you are going to get it back. Chrissie and your dad own it now."
"Dad might sell it to us if we could get in touch with him." They carry on walking and enter the pub.

Pauline is the first person to see them and a look of shock appears on her face.
"Sharon, Dennis! Is Vicki with you?" Sharon looked around the pub and saw familiar faces. Dot, Pauline, Chrissie, Sonia and a few she didn't recognise.
"No Pauline, Vicki's still out in America with 'Chelle. She asked me to pass on her love to you though." Sharon turned and looked Chrissie in the eye.
"We need to talk." Chrissie looked shocked to see Sharon standing the other side of the bar, she didn't think she would ever see Sharon again, well she was rather hoping she didn't.
"Come upstairs Sharon."

Sharon and Dennis follow Chrissie upstairs whilst in the bar the murmours start betweeen the regulars. Dot turns to Pauline,
"I wonder if Zoe knows they're back?"
"Wouldn't like to be in Dennis's shoes when Charlie finds out he's back."

Upstairs in the Vic Chrissie is getting quite flustered. They're sitting in the kitchen.
"Sharon I don't know where he is, how many times do I have to explain, he left me for another woman!"
"Yeah right Chrissie, do you really expect me to believe you? He just got up and walked out of this place? The place he fought so hard to get back? I don't think so! Now tell me the truth, where is he?"
"What do you want to know for anyway, didn't think you'd want to see him after what he did to split you and Dennis up."
"He's my dad Chrissie and there's something important that I need to speak to him about and I aint got the time to waste messing around with you telling me lies!"
"Sharon darling, calm down." Dennis is starting to get worried about her as she's screaming at Chrissie.
"Dennis i'm fine, i'll be even better if she told me where he was." Chrissie gets up from the kitchen table and walks over to the sink and leans against it.

"Do you really want to know where Den is? Do you?" Sharon looks at Dennis and then back at Chrissie,
"This is the reason i'm here Chrissie, I want to know where my dad is."
"He's dead."

Part 5.


"Dead? What do you mean dead?" Sharon was in shock. Chrissie turned around and faced her.
"He's dead, you know stone cold...six foot under dead." Dennis looked at Sharon who had tears in her eyes.
"Chrissie are you sure about this? I mean no one else seems to know about this and surely you would have tried contacting me, Sharon and Vicki if he was dead."
"No one knows about it." Sharon gets up from the table and paces back and forwards in the kitchen.
"Huh! You expect me to believe that? That my dad is dead and no one even notices? Why won't you tell me where he is for?"
"Sharon i'm telling you the truth. Den's dead and he won't be bothering either of us again."

Sharon couldn't quite get her head around this. How come Den was dead and no one knew?
"What happened? How did he die? Why does no one know?" Sharon couldn't help the questions rolling off her tongue.
"One at a time Sharon, this is hard for me as well you know."
"Forgive me if I don't quite believe that Chrissie."
"Do you want to know what happened Sharon? It was that night you came back, after he had spoken to you he came back and he was in no mood to talk. He turned violent Sharon, you know how he could be. He went for me and Zoe-" Sharon interrupted Chrissie before she could say anything else.
"Zoe? What has Zoe got to do with this?"
"Zoe killed him. She grabbed the nearest thing to her and smashed him over the head. She thought he was going to kill me, she only did it to protect me."
There was silence for a few seconds and Dennis says,
"I take it shes got away with killing him as well as seen as no one knows he's dead?" Sharon stops abruptly and turns on Chrissie.
"You mean my dads killer is still out there walking the streets? Setting up her stall and filling the heads of others with lies?"
"Sharon calm down, you've got to understand that I couldn't send Zoe to prison, she was protecting me."
"If you loved my dad you would have wanted to have seen justice done but oh no not you Chrissie, you'd rather go on living a lie and letting everyone think that you are the innocent one in all of this and that dad is the evil one for leaving you!! And don't get me started on Zoe." Sharon looks at Dennis who goes over to her and puts his arms around her and holds her tight. He can't bear to see her like this.

Sharon moves away from Dennis after awhile and turns back to face Chrissie.
"Where is he? His body, where is it?"
"Sharon don't do this, it's only going to make you upset."
"Chrissie I want to know what you did to his body. Now tell me where it is!"
"It's in the cellar."

Part 6.

"The cellar? You left him in the cellar?" Sharon was really angry now. She couldn't believe that her dad was dead again and that Chrissie was standing infront of her telling her about it so calmly. Sharon just wanted to shout and scream at her and hit her but she didn't want to risk losing her baby.
"We had some builders in, they were doing something with the floor and had it dug up so we buried him and then filled it with cement."
"I can't get my head around this? You killed my dad and then buried him in his own pub?!" Even though Sharon hated her dad for what he did to split her and Dennis up she still loved him, still cared about him and had hoped that he would have been happy for her and Dennis now that they were going to become parents. She would never know now.

"Sharon I know this is hard but you've got to understand, we had to act quickly and that was the easiest option."
"How do you sleep at night Chrissie? Knowing Den is only downstairs? You disgust me."
"Sharon it isn't easy, do you really think that I wanted my dead husband to be buried in the pub? I lie awake everynight thinking about him down in the cellar."
"Take me down there, I want to see where he is." Dennis looked at Sharon, he didn't think she should be doing this. He didn't want to see her get too upset, not when there was someone else to think about now.
"Do you really think thats a good idea darling? Your upset now nevermind if you go down there."
"Dennis I have to do this. I lost my dad all those years ago and got him back now i've lost him again. This time its for good. Trust me, I need to see it." Chrissie was staring at Sharon not knowing what to say.
"I'll show you."

Sharon and Dennis followed Chrissie down the stairs and into the cellar. As soon as they were in Sharon looked to the floor and could see a freshly cemented part.
"Is that where he's at?" Sharon pointed to the part of the floor.
"Yes he's in there."
"Who put him in there? Did Zoe help you? Cover up her murder?"
"No Sharon, it wasn't like that. Me and Sam had to protect her."
"SAM! I thought no one knew about this and it turns out half the bloody square committed the crime! Sam helped you did she?"
"Yes, Zoe was in no fit state, she was inconsolable, she didn't mean to kill him Sharon."
"So why not go to the police and tell them what happened? She was protecting you, if it happened the way you said it did."
"It did Sharon, she didn't go out to deliberately kill him."
"So why didn't you go to the police? You've made it a whole lot worse for yourself now, burying him! You were trying to cover it up and i'm sure the police will be very interested to here about your involvement in all of this."
Chrissie flew into a rage, she went for Sharon who was standing over the other side of the cellar. Dennis stepped infront of Sharon to protect her from the flying arms of Chrissie.
"Stop it! If you don't stop all this we're going straight to the police!"
"Sharon please don't. If you're honest with yourself no one is missing him not being around. He never did anything to help others so why tell them? Don't you think we're all sufferring enough? Zoe couldn't cope with being in prison."
"Don't you mean you couldn't Chrissie? Don't try to fool me and make me feel sorry for Zoe because you'll be trying for a hell of a long time after what she did to Dennis!" Sharon stops and a thought comes into her head.

"Chrissie, I won't involve the police."
"Sharon I can't thank you enough-"
"Let me finish Chrissie. I won't involve the police if you give me the Vic back."
