Sort of. He was in the first episode but was in and out of it for the first few years. He then vanished for a few years and was only brought back in 1980 when Clive Hornby took over the role which was now full time. Technically then he isn't an original but is a name associated from the beginning of the show. When Annie Sugden left in the mid 90s that was the last original character gone (without breaks). Before Seth died (in real life and on screen) he was the longest serving actor and the last remaining actor from the 70s. Only Jack, Alan and Eric remain from the Farm days.
It would be good if they could still get Annie back (his mum) and Annie's hubby Amos who ran the Woolpack for many years with Henry Wilks. However they're both nearly 90 so that would be tough.
When I first read about this rumour. I thought it would be used to begin and affair between Diane and Billy as that it bound to happen soon.
Well he normally rises when he gets a big storyline. He's only just turned 60 IRL so he's still quite young. Not sure marrying Diane was a good idea as I prefer them as seperate characters. I'm sure when Victoria finds the truth out about her mum, Jack will have plenty to do.
well i heard diane tells jack the whole affair about what has been happing with her and billy.
Poor jack i also heard Val gets her own back about the affair between diane and billy by smahing a bottle of vodka over diane's head. can't wait for that
i heard that the guy who was having it away with sarah (jacks wife) comes back and kills jack by setting fire to the farm omg not sure if im liking this idea or not
i thought he died aswell with sarah cause i din't see him come out of the barn.
i hope that andy leaves soon, i cant stand him...if andy wass to die debbie would have to take responsibilty for her daughter sarah and therefor we might see her finally strt to bond with the little girl!
