I thought they looked a bit odd on him, but I couldn't put my finger on why. Oh, that reminds me, "You're right, one shoe does look odd!"

I liked that bit.
I would've liked to see the Doctor's glasses return. Hopefully they'll be back next week :)
I completely forgot them! I expect they will be, it's not as if you would take your glasses with you if you were in hospital, unless you were planning to read a book, or something.
I absolutely loved it. I'm a massive David Tennant fan as he really reminds me of Patrick Troughton (who was my ultimate favourite... until now). I thought it was a great story to introduce a new companion.
DT was looking as delicious as ever
I'm really looking forward to the next episode. The week can't go quickly enough in my opinion!
Lil xx
im loving tis new series fell completly back in love with david from the first bit when he took off his tie!!!
A brilliant first episode for Series 3. I really enjoyed it, a nice pacy plot and i love the new assistant! I thought i wouldn't be too keen on her, but i think she was great in her first episode!
The glasses better make a reappearance ... or there will be trouble :p
Fab episode, and i like Marta, didn't think i would, but i do :)
I like how they mentioned Rose, that was sweet.
that Doctor is  hot stuff....!
I didn't like this first episode at all, it seemed to rushed, one minute it's normal and the next they are on the moon with these rhino aliens and an OAP vampire, it was like wooo bombardment.
I do like Freema though, time will tell if she's better than Rose, but I think she could well be. Her family seem a bit 2D, but I suppose that's to be expected, plus how annoying that they cast Reggie Yates as her brother, he's just too well known as a kids presenter - just like AHS last series - cheesy!
It was a weak episode to start, but like Abi said, Rose's first episode was the same, it's about introducing the new assitant, and establishing her relationship with the doctor. Next week's looks bad, but i never like the ones set in the past.
I'm looking forward to some of the episodes this series, let's hope it's as good as last series! :D
I read an interview about why they did that. "Rose" was all about introducing a new audience to Doctor Who, and how everything works, not just about building up a relationship. So they kept it calm, so the audience could understand it better. They didn't have to do that in "Smith and Jones", and just needed the audience to like Martha. So they stuck her in the deep end, so the audience wanted her to go with the Doctor.
RTD said in the Radio Times that he considered calling the episode "Baptism of Fire" :rotfl:
