Wasn't it David Cameron who recently blamed single parents and broken marriages for the lack of respect and the discontent youth in our society these days though, not the government. Didn't Tony Blair say that having 2 parents isn't everything and single situations cannot be blamed on whether a child is well behaved or not....

When I had my youngest, I found it was the Tory government that was constantly causing people to look down at me like I was a piece of dirt because of my "situation" which NO ONE knew the ins and outs of.

I totally agree with Trinity and I know anyone would far rather have one parent that cared about their child(ren) than have 2 that couldn't give a monkeys.

I agree with trinity, it was what i was trying to say but couldnt really get to the point. I think that nowadays in a modern society in which we live the nucleur family (Mummy, Daddy, Brother Sister) doesnt really exist anymore, but it is much easier to be near or be able to travel to your extended family. It doesnt matter if mum and dad arent there as long as there are people whjo love and care for you, and you can talk to, is all that matters.

and as for it resulting in bad behaviour, rubbish, its all talk. They dont know that. I know a family who are all flipping mentalists when it comes to crime and its as thats all they know, the whole family go out on the rob (not painting a good picture of where i live but oh well) and there mum and dad thinks its good that they have two sons in the nick, thats how well the 2 ! parents have bought them up. We dont know if it makes a difference, but i personally dont think it does.
