Coronation Street viewers will finally get answers over another big secret being kept by Maggie Driscoll. The new character sparked a frenzy of fan theories last year when a visit to Ken Barlow's house led to a surprising scene.
Viewers already know that Maggie accidentally killed her husband Alan in the 1990s, as seen in a recent flashback episode. She also involved herself in a sinister cover-up at Christmas as she resorted to drastic measures to protect her grandson Will after he'd viciously attacked Daniel Osbourne.
But what else is Maggie hiding? Back in October, she went rooting at the Barlow house while on the hunt for a punch bowl ahead of the Rovers Return's Halloween party.
When Maggie spotted something in Ken's sideboard, she looked shocked and worried ? leaving fans to wonder whether there's an unknown link between her and the Barlow family.
Speaking in a new interview, Coronation Street's producer Kate Brooks confirmed: "There are other secrets that Maggie's been hiding. There was a very small beat that some eagle-eyed viewers might have spotted, whereby we saw Maggie at No.1.
"She looked into the cabinet and her reaction suggested that she saw something that made her feel slightly on edge or uncomfortable.
"We will reveal what that secret is in the upcoming months, but it is just the tip of the iceberg!"
Pauline McLynn, who plays Maggie, also recently addressed the sideboard mystery in an interview with This Morning's soaps expert Sharon Marshall.
Asked what Maggie saw that day, Pauline replied: "Everyone asks me that! It was one of the first scenes I ever did and even Ken Barlow himself said to me, 'What is in the sideboard?'
"I was looking for a punchbowl, as you do, in somebody else's house, fresh onto the Street, and I had to say to him, 'I don't know!' Because there was nothing in there when I looked."
She added: "We do find out what, and it's a rather big plot thing that no one sees coming... I didn't! But I wasn't told for about four or five weeks. We haven't filmed what it is yet. But even Ken Barlow himself didn't know."
