Emmerdale star Joe Absolom has revealed how long he'll be on the ITV soap for.
The former EastEnders actor is current in the 'Dales as villain Ray Walters, who's involved in the current drug dealing storyline.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain this week, Absolom revealed that Ray will be around for a few more months, at least.
When asked by host Richard Madeley if he thinks soaps have a future, he replied with a laugh that "I hope they have 'til November, 'cause that's when my contract [ends]."
Of course, depending on where the storyline goes and fan reaction to Ray, there's the possibility he could sign a new contract be on Emmerdale for longer, but this is confirmation that he's not going anywhere for the short-term.
Going back to Madeley's question, Absolom said that his kids don't sit down and watch TV together in the evenings like he used to, as there's so much more choice nowadays.
He added that it might come back around to how it was to some degree, as he thinks that the on-demand world of streaming might be getting a bit "boring".
Having previously played Matthew Rose on EastEnders between 1997 and 2000, Madeley and Kate Garraway said they had to ask how his experience differed between the two soaps.
"I did EastEnders a long time ago and I remember it being good fun, but Emmerdale seems to be genuinely a really nice place to work," he replied. "I keep waiting for someone to go 'This isn't the real job, this is the real job and it's worse'. But it's really good fun.
"It's quick but it's not rushed, that's what I found with Emmerdale. The crews are really good and the set is... they've built a real village. It's a proper place so they can film anywhere.
"That means you can work quickly but you don't feel rushed. You sorta get through it. I remember EastEnders, we would do lots and lots of talking. This seems nicer."
