Coronation Street's Shobna Gulati has admitted that she was shocked by the latest twist in Sunita's life.
Next Monday (July 23), Sunita and Karl are caught out by Stella when they rekindle their affair in the Rovers Return, leading to chaos for the Price and Alahan families.
"Something's happened to Sunita. It's Weatherfield water," she said on This Morning. "It was quite shocking though as I read the script. How would I move and be that girl? Maybe she's read [50 Shades of Grey]."
Delving into Sunita's mindset, Gulati explained: "She's had kids and she's with a man who doesn't really care. Then she finds a man who really wants her.
"She does feel rejected by Karl. [Dev]'s just smothered her again. So it's all very complicated for her, and she just feels like, 'I need something. I need to go out'."
However, the actress concluded: "She takes an option - the maddest and biggest option of Sunita's live. I thought, 'Wow!' She was very drunk at the time."
Gulati added that Sunita's decision to stay with Karl is an example of "momentary madness" which sums up her personal "crisis".
Dev Alahan's world has gone into complete meltdown since hearing of Sunita's affair with Karl Munroe.
Despite his pleas to his estranged fiancé, Dev ends up desolate in his corner shop, wondering if things could get any worse.
Racked with emotion, Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) turns over his corner shop in a desperate fit of anger.

Tonight's (July 27) hour-long episode of the soap sees Izzy (Cherylee Houston) lose her unborn baby after being rushed to hospital with agonising pains.
Izzy and Gary's loved ones rally round the couple following their devastating loss, while the hospital staff assure them that they are free to try for another baby once the time is right.
Gary (Mikey North) is relieved to hear that his dream of fatherhood isn't over, but it's not what Izzy wants to hear. Although she can't bear to tell Gary yet, she's had a change of heart and doesn't want to go through this again. Could this issue tear the pair apart?
