How does Declan own Ashley's house/vicarage?

I think that it was part of the estate when the Kings bought it. I remember them giving the church to the village but Mulberry Cottage still remains part of the estate which is now owned by Declan.

tis true - Mark and natasha bought virtually the whole village up, at the time the Church was threatening to close down - gave the Church back to the people, and the Church-ship has been paying the rent for the vicarage ever since
