David Hasselhoff could take Simon Cowell's seat on Britain's Got Talent, whilst Simon focuses on launching US X Factor.
Hasselhoff was a judge on America's Got Talent for four years but quit in January, saying he wanted to embark on his own reality show project.
However, there were reports that TV chiefs did not renew his contract amid claims his battle with alcohol had made his position untenable.
The former Baywatch star is currently in London rehearsing for his role as Captain Hook in the New Wimbledon Theatre's Peter Pan pantomime.
Auditions for Britain's Got Talent 2011 are due to start next month.
Wagner Carrilho apparently wants to try out for Britain's Got Talent.
The former X Factor contestant believes that he can be the next singing sensation, according to The Sun.
"He thinks he could be as big as Susan Boyle," a source said.
Carrilho - who reportedly plans to impress the Britain's Got Talent panel by performing classic opera tracks - is said to be a big fan of rumoured new judge David Hasselhoff.
"They've got so much in common," the source added. "They're both ladies' men

David Hasselhoff is in line to replace Piers Morgan as a judge on Britain's Got Talent, it has been reported.
The former Baywatch actor left the equivalent position on America's Got Talent earlier this year - although it was alleged that Hasselhoff was dropped due to his well-publicised battle with alcohol.
Simon Cowell is now believed to have offered the 58-year-old a £500,000 deal to judge the next series of the ITV talent contest in place of Morgan, who has stepped down to concentrate on his new CNN anchor role.
A source told The Sun: "David was delighted to receive the call as he really enjoyed his time on America's Got Talent. He is popular in the UK and loves the country, so for him it is a dream opportunity.
"You might say it's ironic Simon asked David to replace him after he was dropped in America. But they are great pals and David is really looking forward to the auditions."
A show spokesperson confirmed that they were in negotiations with Hasselhoff but denied that a deal was already done. They said: "We are talking to David Hasselhoff. Nothing has been finalised."
Other stars rumoured to be in the running for a place on the judging panel include Patsy Kensit, David Walliams and Paul O'Grady.
ITV has confirmed that Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff will join Britain's Got Talent as judges for the next series.
The pair will appear on the panel alongside the returning Amanda Holden when the series comes to ITV in 2011. Simon Cowell will not be present for the auditions but will reprise his role for the live stages.
Elaine Bedell, ITV Director of Entertainment and Comedy, said: “Michael has established himself as one of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment in this country and, as someone who made his big breakthrough on the Royal Variety Performance, he knows exactly the pressures facing the acts on Britain’s Got Talent."
Of his new role, McIntyre said: “I'm a massive fan of Britain's Got Talent and am extremely excited to be a judge on the new series. I was so thrilled when Simon Cowell asked me that I immediately wanted to run in to Ant and Dec's arms to celebrate!”
Actor and television personality Hasselhoff previously served on the judging panel for NBC series America's Got Talent from 2006 to 2009.
“As an actor, singer and producer, David Hasselhoff has been immersed in show business for many years," said Bedell. "Alongside Michael, Amanda and of course Simon Cowell, he is a great addition to the judging panel for 2011.”
Ant and Dec will continue to present the hit show.
Britain's Got Talent is to feature guest judges on its next series, according to sources.
Producers on the ITV talent show apparently hope to replicate the success of this year's X Factor, in which guest stars such as Katy Perry and Pixie Lott appeared on the judging panel at the auditions stage.
The news follows last week's announcement that Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff will serve as new permanent judges alongside Amanda Holden on the upcoming series.
A source told the Daily Star: "Simon saw how bringing new people on board on The X Factor last summer, like Nicole Scherzinger and Geri Halliwell, really gave the show a lift. Now he wants to do the same on Britain's Got Talent.
"Viewers will already see two new faces on the panel - The Hoff and Michael. But Simon wants to mix things up and have more new faces.
"Last year, Louis stepped in for him on Britain's Got Talent because he was ill and it brought a new dimension to the show and the panel. He wants to do the same next year. It's going to be mega."
Celebrities in the frame for a guest judging role on the series are thought to include Sharon Osbourne, Paul O'Grady, Cilla Black and James Corden.
Britain's Got Talent auditions begin in London on January 4.
Lulu Walsh confirmed he will be filling in for Hoff on some shows
Im going to see the auditions in a few weeks in cardiff, shame it wont be the same judges
David Hasselhoff will join the new-look Britain's Got Talent judging panel for the first time tomorrow.
The former Baywatch actor will team up with Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre at the Manchester Opera House for auditions on Thursday and Friday.
Louis Walsh stood in for the US star last week while he was busy filming in Australia and appearing in pantomime in Wimbledon.
Hasselhoff, McIntyre and Holden will be joined on the judging panel by Simon Cowell when the Got Talent live shows start.

Shirlena Johnson has revealed that she is hoping to compete on Britain's Got Talent.
Johnson was axed from last year's X Factor after it emerged that she suffered from mental health problems which may have affected her ability to care for her 3-year-old daughter.
However, Johnson now insists that she is "better" following her battles with depression and anxiety, and hopes that she can succeed on ITV's other reality talent show.
She told The Sun that she has already auditioned for a Britain's Got Talent producer, who will shortly decide whether to put her through to the judges.
She added: "I wanted to see if there was another opportunity for me. I'm not really worried about what happened before. I know I am better. I have a supportive family around me who can help with my daughter.
"I deserve a second chance. I hope I will make it to the next stage. It would mean a lot to me. I would be so happy. This is something I really want to do - it's my dream."
Johnson also revealed that she performed a 'toned down' version of her X Factor audition song 'Mercy' when she tried out in front of the Britain's Got Talent producer.
"I was crawling and rolling on the floor and dancing," she added. "I did tone it down a bit - it was not as wacky."
The 30-year-old went on to say that she has spoken with X Factor bosses, who have apparently encouraged the singer to reapply for the show if doctors give her medical clearance.
"If Britain's Got Talent doesn't work out then I will go for The X Factor again," she concluded.
