Batman star Christian Bale will face police questioning today over claims that he assaulted his mother and sister.

A complaint was lodged against the actor by mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, at a police station in Hampshire yesterday. They have alleged that Bale "lashed out" at them on Sunday night at central London's Dorchester Hotel.

Police decided to delay questioning until today because they did not want to spoil last night's Dark Knight premiere in the West End, one report suggests.

A source told The Sun: "It would have been wrong to wreck the premiere over a complaint which we do not yet know is founded in truth. Mr Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of what happened."

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we have received an allegation from another force in relation to an incident in central London."

Estelle Getty has died at the age of 84.

The veteran actress - best known for her role as sarcastic Sicilian Sophia in sitcom The Golden Girls - was suffering from advanced dementia.

Her son Carl Gettleman confirmed that she died at around 5.30am PT (1.30pm UK) at her home in Hollywood, three days before her 85th birthday.

"She was loved throughout the world in six continents, and if they loved sitcoms in Antarctica she would have been loved on seven continents," Gettleman said in a statement. "She was one of the most talented comedic actresses who ever lived."

As well as her role in Golden Girls, which ran from 1985 to 1992, Getty appeared in Stop or My Mom Will Shoot alongside Sylvester Stallone, Mask, Stuart Little and Mannequin.

Television star John Leslie will not face charges over the latest allegations against him of sex assaults, police said today.

The former Blue Peter presenter was arrested last month over two allegations of rape and indecent assault dating back to 1995.

Leslie, 43, was formally arrested after he attended Teddington police station by appointment in June.

He strenuously denied the allegation, claiming it was the 'mother of all stitch-ups'.

Today the Metropolitan Police said after taking advice from the Crown Prosecution Service they will not be taking any further action against him.

He had been questioned by Teddington detectives for three hours over claims by a 33-year-old woman that he raped her at his East Sheen home in 1995.

The woman made the allegation last September. They also took his fingerprints and a DNA swab.

Leslie's law firm released a statement on his behalf, saying he was 'delighted' and the complaint was 'ridiculous'.

It also said there was 'little justice and no fairness' in what Leslie and his family had been put through, having his name dragged through the mud once again.

The statement said: 'We have today been informed by the Metropolitan Police that the complaint against John Leslie has been dropped.

'Yet again, after a complete and thorough investigation, it has been confirmed that there is no truth or substance to the damaging allegations that were made against our client last month.

'He is of course delighted. The complaint was ridiculous, but yet again and for a second time his name has been dragged through the mud before the law has had a chance to confirm his innocence.

'The law confers a blanket of anonymity on complainants but the accused enjoys no such protection.

'Instead his reputation, his character, his career and his family are regarded as fair game by the media.

'There is little justice and no fairness in what our client and his family have been put through.'

Leslie was acquitted of two counts of indecent assault on a 23-year-old actress in 2003.

She came forward to police in 2002 after Leslie was sacked from This Morning following allegations arising from TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson's autobiography -although she had not named him.

In recent years, Leslie has pursued a career away from showbusiness as a property developer in Scotland.

He attended Teddington police station last month after the fresh allegation surfaced.

The next day he released a statement in which he condemned 'lies about my private life' and said: 'I certainly did not attack this person as I have never attacked anyone.'

Leslie said at the time: 'I was interviewed for 30 minutes and released on bail. Five years ago I helped the police complete a thorough investigation into malicious claims against me...

'Regrettably, as has happened in the past, the details of a private police inquiry have been leaked to the press and once again I face trial by media.

'It is thus with a mixture of anger and distress that I am forced to talk yet again about lies about my private life, lies that destroyed my public career.'

Leslie said: 'If I sound bitter, it is because I am.'

He said the lies 'that destroyed my public career in 2003... now threaten the private life which I have been happy to lead since then'.

He said: 'When, I ask, is this nightmare going to end? If it is considered acceptable to launch an investigation after 13 years, then why not 20 or 30 years?'

Miley Cyrus has claimed that she is single and "looking" for a boyfriend.

The actress, 15, who is currently shooting Hannah Montana: The Movie, denied rumours she was dating either boyband rocker Nick Jonas or co-star Lucas Till.

"It is hard when you are hanging out with guys, even guys that are just your friends," she told Today.

"[He's] automatically your boyfriend, because that's what the media thinks.

"I think it's good if you can be able to have guy and girl friends that, you know, understand you."

She added: "It stinks when we go out; people automatically think we're together."

Teen superstar Miley Cyrus is "super sorry" for a video on YouTube in which she and best friend Mandy Jiroux mock fellow Disney Channel stars Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

“I mean if we offended (Gomez and Lovato), we’re super sorry, but we were, like, just having fun,” Cyrus said in an interview with Popstar! magazine.

Cyrus and Jiroux's video copied an earlier YouTube video by Gomez and Lovato in a scene-by-scene parody.

“That’s our thing, to be funny,” she said. “They were being funny on their show, and (besides) Elvis says imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so we were, like, imitating them. You know, like, being funny.”

In the video, the singer and actress, 15, and Jiroux, a backup dancer, poke fun at Gomez showing off her Power Rangers T-shirt and laugh at Lovato fixing a gap in her teeth.

"I thought they digitally added that," said Gomez about the gap. In the video made by Cyrus and Jiroux, the "Hannah Montana" star mocks her, saying "I thought it was like digitizely put on in your piehole."

After Cyrus' controversial Vanity Fair photo shoot, some pegged Gomez, star of "The Wizards of Waverly Place," and Lovato, star of "Camp Rock," as wholesome role models who could take Cyrus' place.

Still, the "Hannah Montana" star told "Extra" that "I don’t think there could be a next Miley. I think they should be the next Selena, the next Demi ... [and] make their own way.”

Simon Cowell and Terri Seymour have allegedly ended their six-year relationship.

A report from Star magazine claims that Cowell dumped his TV presenter girlfriend following a row over starting a family.

"He told me he is tired of Terri's insecurities," a friend of Cowell is quoted as saying. "They lead separate lives, and that's how he likes it, but lately she has turned up unannounced at events he is at."

A source added: "Terri is worn down by Simon's attitude."

Cowell is believed to be holidaying at his St Tropez villa with friend Paul McKenna and ex-girlfriend Sinitta following his bust-up with Seymour.

The X Factor judge has repeatedly denied rumours that his relationship with Seymour is on the rocks.

Gordon Ramsay has been described as a "sad b*****d" by his former friend and protégé Marcus Wareing.

The pair have known each other for 15 years, but a row over the Petrus restaurant at the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge has torn them apart in recent months.

Wareing is head chef at the restaurant, which is currently run by Gordon Ramsay Holdings, but will take over the lease in September after the hotel decided to end its association with Ramsay. Gordon's lawyers are attempting to challenge the move.

In an interview with Waitrose Food Illustrated, Wareing said that he is looking forward to breaking away from his former mentor. He also claimed that Ramsay is more interested in being a celebrity than a chef.

"If I never speak to that guy for the rest of my life, it wouldn't bother me one bit," Wareing insisted. "Wouldn't give a *******."

He continued: "Gordon's an important part of my life, although half of me thinks he's a sad b*****d and the other half still adores him. But Gordon is not really part of the industry now. He's a major celebrity."

Heather Mills has no evidence that she could use against her ex-husband Paul McCartney, her former publicist has claimed.

As the ex-model's divorce battle with McCartney rumbled on earlier this year, it was suggested that Mills had damaging tapes which proved the Beatles legend had been abusive towards her.

However, Michele Elyzabeth, who parted company with Mills last week, has now insisted that there is no truth in the claims.

She told US TV show Access Hollywood: "I really don't believe she did [have the tapes]. I was close enough and I heard a couple of conversations. Now that I know what I know, I don't really think that Paul really went after her for anything.

"She had basically nothing - she had tapes of her being in the studio with him, her being on the road with him, private moments. She told me a bunch of stuff... [but] I don't see him being a violent person."

Elyzabeth has described Mills as a "maniac" and an "impossible" person to work with since quitting her job last week.

Sarah Bartholomew, the woman who stalked David Walliams, is to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act, The Mirror reports.

The 29-year-old former veterinary nurse admitted to sending the Little Britain star a string of threatening messages, one of which read: "I have to have you at any cost. I will kill or abduct you to stop you seeing anyone else."

Bartholomew will remain in a psychiatric hospital until doctors decide she poses no danger to herself or others.

District Judge Adrian Turner stated: "I am quite sure a medical order is the appropriate action."

A judge had previously said that Bartholomew had become "delusional about her relationship with David Walliams".

Gordon Ramsay's latest episode of The F Word received a large volume of complaints after it featured new energy drink Pussy.

The chef, who is famous for his use of bad language in the kitchen, and guest Graham Norton, discussed the beverage on last night's show.

During the segment, Norton said: "It's got some natural energy in the Pussy…go on…taste your Pussy."

He added: "Do you like the Pussy, was that good?"

The 44-year-old's second wife Christie gave birth to daughter Lolita Bell last night. The couple, who married last year, already have son Mackenzie Blue, two.

Richie's spokesman told The Sun: "They are both over the moon."

The actor also has sons Shane and Jake from his first marriage to Loose Women regular Coleen Nolan, whom he divorced in 1999.

Morgan Freeman has reportedly been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a car crash in the US.

The actor's car is thought to have gone off a highway in Mississippi and flipped several times at around 11.30pm last night.

He is now in hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where a spokeswoman described his condition as "serious".

A woman in the car was also taken to the Regional Medical Centre, known as The Med.

Freeman, 71, is currently appearing in new Batman film The Dark Knight. He won a best supporting actor Oscar for his role in 2004's Million Dollar Baby.

James Corden has apologised to Keira Knightley after he joked that they enjoyed repeated sex sessions.

Peter Andre was left "badly shaken" after a vehicle drove into his chauffeur-driven car in LA earlier this week.

The singer, who is staying in the city while wife Katie Price undergoes a breast reduction, was leaving a screening of The Dark Knight when the accident happened.

He escaped unharmed when the vehicle smashed into the side of the car in which he was sitting, reports The Mirror.

"It left a massive dent in the door but thankfully Pete walked out uninjured," said a source. "He was adamant he didn't want to go to hospital and made sure the other driver was okay.

"He was badly shaken but immediately called Katie to reassure her that he wasn't hurt."

Morgan Freeman has been released from hospital following his involvement in a car crash at the weekend.

The actor was discharged from the Regional Medical Centre in Memphis, Tennessee, after being treated for a broken arm, elbow and other injuries, a hospital spokesperson confirmed.

Freeman, 71, was airlifted to the centre's trauma unit on Sunday night after his car veered off a highway in Mississippi and flipped several times. He has since undergone surgery to repair nerve damage.

A female passenger and owner of the car, later identified as friend Demaris Meyer, was also taken to the facility.

Police believe Freeman may have fallen asleep at the wheel of the vehicle prior to the accident. Rain is also thought to have been a factor.

The Oscar winner, who can currently be seen in The Dark Knight, was earlier revealed to be in the process of divorcing his wife of 24 years.

Brad Pitt took adopted son Maddox go-karting for his seventh birthday on Tuesday.

The Hollywood star, 44, spent a day on a race track in the South of France with his eldest child. Angelina Jolie remained at the Château Mira with the rest of their children.

"It was just Maddox and Brad," a source told People. "Just father-son time." Maddox apparently beat his father in the overall race.

The pair have previously been spotted playing with racing radio-command cars and various bikes. They have also been photographed at numerous Formula One events.

Peaches Geldof has married in Las Vegas, her spokesperson has confirmed.

The 19-year-old wed Max Drummey, drummer in indie band Chester French, while on holiday in the US last week.

The couple met a year ago but became an item after Chester French played last month's iTunes festival, which Geldof co-presented.

Drummey, 23, is a Harvard anthropology graduate from Boston.

Geldof's representative told Heatworld: "Peaches and Max Drummey are delighted to announce their very happy marriage. The couple tied the knot in a simple low-key ceremony in Las Vegas last week.

"Their marriage has the full support of their family and friends. Peaches and Max did not want unnecessary publicity, but following growing media speculation, have decided to set out the facts. No further comment from either will be forthcoming."

Gary Glitter will be deported to the UK next week after serving his sentence for child molestation.

The glam rock singer, real name Paul Gadd, has completed his 27-month sentence in a Vietnam prison. Glitter was convicted in March 2006 of committing "obscene acts with children".

The arrest concerned two Vietnamese girls from the coastal city of Vung Tau. His sentence was reduced by three months on appeal.

Glitter's legal representative Le Thanh Kinh said: "He will be deported back to Britain.

"Police booked his ticket from Ho Chi Minh City to London and I have already paid for the ticket on his behalf.

"My client will have to board a flight to London, his ticket has been bought by the authorities here. After he lands in London, he's free to go wherever he wants."

Glitter will leave Vietnam on Tuesday. He will be met by police in the UK and made to sign the sex offenders' register.

'Livin' La Vida Loca' singer Ricky Martin has become the father of twin boys.

Martin's surrogate mother gave birth several weeks ago, a representative has confirmed.

The babies' names and weights were not confirmed. The identity of the mother is also unknown.

"The children, delivered via surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky's full-time care," said a spokesperson.

"Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children."

Gary Glitter has been refused entry into Hong Kong, the Foreign Office has confirmed.

The former glam rock star, real name Paul Gadd, left Bangkok airport on a Thai Airways flight for the Chinese territory this afternoon.

He had refused to board a connecting flight from Bangkok to Heathrow this morning after claiming to be suffering from chest pains. However, he was later examined and declared fit to fly.

According to legal experts, British authorities do not have the power to force Glitter to return to the UK. Chinese officials are currently thought to be considering putting him on a flight back to Thailand.

Thai-based British journalist Andrew Drummond earlier told Sky News: "He has had access to British TV in his hotel and knows that if he does come back [to the UK], he might never be able to leave again."

The 64-year-old was released from prison in Vietnam on Thursday after serving two years and nine months of a three-year sentence for child molestation.

Kerry Katona has been declared bankrupt by the High Court.

The I'm A Celebrity... winner failed to pay the final £82,000 of a £417,000 tax bill.

Katona was not present at the court earlier today. Her representative Luke Harris claimed that she was waiting for cheques to clear before she paid the money back.

Mr Registrar Nicholls allowed her legal team an extra hour to correct the balance, but they failed to do so.

It is the fourth time the case has been in court, but the final deadline was confirmed by Nicholls two weeks ago.

She was given the petition in January, but has repeatedly contested HM Revenue and Customs's demands.

Katona, who found fame in pop group Atomic Kitten, won ITV's I'm A Celebrity... in 2004. She has four children, two with singer Brian McFadden and two with current husband Mark Croft.

Jade Goody would have died within three months without emergency treatment for her cervical cancer, she has revealed.

The reality TV star was diagnosed with the illness while she was taking part in the Indian version of Big Brother six days ago. She immediately withdrew from the programme and returned to the UK for treatment and further tests.

Goody has now been told that she has a large tumour in her womb and will require a hysterectomy next week.

"My consultant said the cancer had got so big it filled half my womb. There was a chance it was in my bloodstream," Goody told The Sun. "She told me I'd need a hysterectomy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The biggest shock was when I asked what would have happened if I'd stayed in India for three months.

"Without hesitation she replied, 'Jade, you would have died'. I've got to make a joke about it or I'll go mad with the fear. If I go bald I'll get a big tattoo on my head. And I refuse to question whether or not I will die. It's not an option. I'll fight with all my strength."

Goody also admitted that she is heartbroken by accusations that her health scare is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

"I'm sitting here desperately trying to come to terms with the fact that I might die, while people are out there accusing me of making my illness up," she said. "Call me a racist, call me a bigot, a chav, whatever - but don't call me a liar over this."

The star had decided to take part in India's Big Boss to make amends for her part in the Celebrity Big Brother race row, which saw her branded a racist bully for her treatment of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

Kerry Katona is planning to go ahead with her dramatic cosmetic surgery plans, despite being declared bankrupt this week.

The former Atomic Kitten star will be filmed for her reality TV series as she undergoes a body makeover, including a breast reduction, liposuction and laser treatment for her stretchmarks. She is expected to part with £15,000 for the transformation.

A bankruptcy order was issued by the High Court this week after Katona failed to pay the final £82,000 of a £417,000 tax bill. Her representatives have insisted that the action will be annulled on Wednesday when funds for the bill finally clear.

Speaking about Katona's surgery plans, a source told the Daily Star: "She will be followed by a camera crew. But she has wanted this for a really long time, regardless of whether it was for TV or not.

"She knows she will be criticised for going through with it after what happened this week but she is not worried because she has money pouring into her bank accounts. The money is there - she is not skint by any means."

Neighbours star Carla Bonner was banned from a flight at the weekend after clashing with an airline attendant over her luggage.

The actress, who plays Steph Scully on the Aussie soap, was checking in at Melbourne Airport for a flight to Newcastle, New South Wales, when she was warned that her hand luggage could be too large.

Bonner was told by the staff member that her bag would need to be measured and a heated exchange followed. She was in possession of a Light Fare ticket for a Jetstar Airways flight, restricting her to one piece of small hand luggage only.

The soap star eventually ended up staying in Melbourne. Despite claims from onlookers that she used foul language in her discussion with the airport worker, Bonner has insisted that she was not at fault.

"I am in the process of lodging a formal complaint about an incredibly rude staff member who I am sure regrets his behaviour,'' Bonner told the Daily Telegraph. "It's a shame because the other Jetstar staff I dealt with were terrific and very supportive.''

In August last year, Bonner was fined for driving offences. As well as using a licence that had not been renewed, she had caused a crash at a shopping centre by reversing when it was unsafe to do so.

Ulrika Jonsson could be set for a dramatic return to breakfast television.

The former TV-am weather girl has been in secret talks with GMTV about becoming their new sofa queen when Fiona Phillips leaves.

Bosses are snubbing bookies' favourite Kate Garraway and want to take Fiona's Christmas exit as an opportunity to revitalise the station.

Kate, 41, may well be dumped altogether when her contract runs out.

An insider said: "Fiona's departure is a blow, but this gives us a chance to give the whole show a spring clean. Ulrika is perfect - beautiful and intelligent, with an ability to laugh at herself."

However, one woman who doesn't seem to want the job is GMTV's other bubbly blonde, Penny Smith. The presenter is looking to take a break so she can finish writing a book.

The unwashed Calvin Klein briefs are a size 28 and will go on eBay on 10 September with a reserve of $1 million.

According to the New York Post, the undies were part of the evidence confiscated in 2003 during an unsuccessful child molestation case brought against the popstar.

They are being sold by New Jersey businessman Henry Vacarro, who obtained them in a bankruptcy case.

A handwritten note explaining why Jackson wanted an annulment from Lisa Marie Presley and a used, half-ounce tube of skin-bleaching cream are also up for grabs.

SIZZLING Dannii Minogue has revealed she might pose for Playboy magazine again — 13 years after her first shoot.
The X Factor judge, 37, said she would consider it if the price was right.

Dannii, who first bared all in the men’s mag in her early twenties, said: “I did Playboy when it was cool and I shocked myself and many others.

“But it was liberating at the time. I would do it again.”

She added: “If the money was right, then sure. Who knows, it might happen this year too.”

The pop star — who has admitted having a boob job — appeared in the magazine following the breakdown of her two-year marriage to Nip/Tuck actor Julian McMahon, 39.

Kanye West and his bodyguard have been arrested at Los Angeles International Airport following an altercation with a photographer.

An airport spokesperson confirmed to MTV that both men were charged with felony vandalism, with West's bodyguard also charged with battery, after an incident involving paparazzi.

A photographer's camera valued at $10,000 (£5,709) was broken during the scuffle.

The arrests were made before the rapper had cleared a security screening for an American Airlines flight.

"West and the other man are currently in custody with airport police," airport spokesman Albert Rodriguez told BBC 1Xtra.

"They're expected to be transported to Los Angeles Police Department's specific division where they will be booked."

Actress Lindsay Lohan has finally revealed that she and Samantha Ronson are a couple.

The Mean Girls star added that her relationship with the DJ had been going on a "very long time".
