Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has claimed that the soap's cast are not enjoying filming in high definition.
The Weatherfield drama joined ITV1 HD last month following a multi-million pound investment at the show's Manchester base, which allowed it to meet the demands of the higher quality filming.
Discussing the switch, Marsh wrote in her New column: "We've started filming in high definition, which we all hate because you can see every line, wrinkle and spot.
"It's not very flattering, but we've got to move with the times and produce the quality you'd expect from a top soap."
The 34-year-old added that she is feeling more positive about her character Michelle Connor's recent style choices.
She said: "I've been lucky lately, as Michelle has had a wardrobe overhaul and has got lots of nice new clothes."
She might mean the wardrobe department have splashed out on her, not the character going on a spending spree :)
Coronation Street star Craig Gazey has revealed that he would consider appearing on the celebrity version of Come Dine With Me.
The 28-year-old, who plays Weatherfield's Graeme Proctor, named the Channel 4 culinary show as the only TV competition he would be willing to participate in.
STV quotes him as saying: "I wouldn't want to do a reality show, although I love cooking so I'd consider Celebrity Come Dine With Me."
Quizzed about his viewing habits, Gazey also admitted that he is not watching the final series of Big Brother because he fears getting hooked on the show.
He commented: "I've banned myself from watching Big Brother - it's too addictive. You lose your summer and it's not worth it. Nowadays the housemates have a media plan before they even get in the house."
Gazey's Coronation Street character has recently embarked on a new romance with Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).
Steve Huison has confessed that he draws inspiration from real-life acquaintances when filming his Coronation Street scenes.
Speaking on This Morning today, the actor revealed that he lives close to at least three people who share similar personality traits to his Weatherfield character Eddie Windass.
In a further coincidence, Huison said that one of the men is in a relationship with a woman who bears a striking resemblance to his screen partner Debbie Rush (Anna).
He explained: "I observe regularly in my locale about three different people. One of them is actually partnered up with a woman who looks just like Anna! I'd love to take a photograph of them but it'd be too obtrusive in the street!"
Asked whether any of the men know that they have inspired his performances, Huison replied: "Oh no! How could you ever tell them?"
Huison has been part of the Coronation Street cast since 2008.
Coronation Street star Sue Nicholls has revealed that fans of the soap often call her "Deirdre".
The actress, who plays Audrey Roberts on the ITV1 show, told Inside Soap that viewers have been known to get mixed up when they spot her in the street.
Asked whether she has had any amusing encounters with the public, Nicholls replied: "Mainly people seem to think I'm Deirdre Barlow! They shriek at me, 'Deirdre! Deirdre!'.
"I think the public get confused because the names Audrey and Deirdre sound quite similar."
The 66-year-old was also asked if the younger Coronation Street cast members ever seek her advice on the soap's set.
She replied: "If anything, I'm the one who goes to them for worldly advice - they know far more than me! One of the younger girls did ask me about going to drama school the other day, as she wanted to improve her technique. I didn't really know what to say, as I don't think you can get any better training than actually doing the job."
Ben Price has confessed that he has no idea whether he will play a significant part in Coronation Street's 50th anniversary episodes.
Speaking to Inside Soap, the actor insisted that he is happy to stay in the dark over what could be in store for his character Nick Tilsley in the special instalments.
Price explained: "I genuinely don't know how much I'll be involved in the 50th birthday episodes, though I imagine I will be in some capacity.
"I actually think it's better not to know the details until it all comes out in the scripts. The small things leading up to it are just as important as the big event itself."
In the meantime, Nick's love life will take a new twist later this month when he tells ex-wife Leanne (Jane Danson) that he still has feelings for her, despite his current romance with hairdresser Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac).
Discussing the plot, Price commented: "I think that Nick believes he threw away the best relationship of his life. He hasn't felt that way for anyone else and just wants to explain to Leanne how he feels, and tell her that he's sorry for the way he treated her."
