Inception star Tom Hardy has admitted having gay flings in the past - despite being engaged to British actress Charlotte Riley.
The 32-year-old Brit says there's a simple explanation for the sexual experimentation.
It's because he's an actor, naturally.
Asked if he has ever had sex with other men she said: "As a boy? Of course I have. I'm an actor ... but now that I'm in my 30s, it doesn't do it for me.
"A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities.
"A lot of people say I seem masculine, but I don't feel it. I feel intrinsically feminine.
"I'd love to be one of the boys but I always felt a bit on the outside.
"Maybe my masculine qualities come from overcompensating because I'm not one of the boys."

Olympian-turned-TV adventurer JAMES CRACKNELL has suffered brain damage after fracturing his skull in a cycling accident last week (ends25Jul10), according to his wife.
The rower was cycling through Arizona filming a new show for the Discovery Channel when he was involved in a collision with a truck.
He is currently semi-conscious in a neuro-trauma ward and will need six months to recover from his injuries, according to his wife Beverly Turner.
She tells the Daily Telegraph, "I'd spent years worrying that James would plunge down a crevasse in some remote wilderness, but it was a road traffic accident in the U.S. that has left him with a fractured skull and damage to his brain."
Turner reveals Cracknell has had bleeding and swelling on his brain, which could cause personality and motivation issues - but she insists his prognosis is good.
She adds, "Only those closest to him may be able to tell a subtle difference."
The pair shares two children, Croyde, six, and Kiki, 16 months.
I wish him a speedy and full recovery

Scottish singer DARIUS CAMPBELL is "lucky to be alive" after breaking his neck in a "terrifying" high speed car crash.
The pop star, previously known as Darius Danesh, cracked several vertebrae in his neck in a road accident on 19 July (10) while on vacation in Marbella, Spain.
The 29 year old and his two friends all survived the crash, but he admits the incident left him fearing for his life.
He tells Scotland's Glasgow Evening Times, "It was absolutely terrifying. I thought that was going to be it. My life flashed before my eyes and I thought I was going to die.
"I don't remember the impact - it all happened so fast and I felt very dazed afterwards. The last thing I remember was being thrown forwards. Before I knew it, I had got out of the car, but I hit the ground and I couldn't feel my arms and my legs."
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and doctors suggested an operation to repair the damage, but Campbell opted instead to wear a neck brace while he recovers, fearing surgery could harm his vocal cords.
He adds, "I'm lucky to be alive. I'm feeling much better but I still have a neck brace. I hope the vertebrae heal on their own. But if that doesn't happen, they would have to operate. I want to put the op off for a few weeks and hope the damage heals."
 He is lucky to be alive, hope he does not have lasting damage

PEACHES GELDOF is to wed for the second time - aged 21 - after a whirlwind romance with horror movie director ELI ROTH.
BOOMTOWN RAT SIR BOB's wild child daughter, whose previous marriage to US musician MAX DRUMMEY lasted just seven months, will tie the knot on a New York rooftop in January.
Peaches and Inglourious Basterds star Eli, 38, plan a Jewish ceremony in front of 50 guests with views across Manhattan.
And last night a Hollywood pal said: "We wouldn't be surprised if they started a family together very soon."
The couple have only been dating since March but Peaches recently moved to Los Angeles to live with her lover.
They bought a pet pig together and Sir Bob is understood to have given Eli his seal of approval.
The friend said: "They are confident this is the real deal.
"They want a wedding on a New York rooftop and plan to invite about 50 friends including Quentin Tarantino. Apart from the trendy venue it will be a traditional Jewish ceremony in keeping with Eli's family faith.
"They are trying to keep it secret - I don't know if Peaches' dad knows yet."
In April Eli wrote an open letter defending Peaches after artist Ben Mills posted saucy pictures of her on the internet following a one-night stand.

Chelsea Clinton has married her long-term boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky in a ceremony at the Astor Courts estate in New York.
Clinton, daughter of former US President Bill Clinton and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has known investment banker Mezvinsky since they were both teenagers. The event took place on Saturday evening, costing an estimated $2m (£1.3m) to $3m (£1.9m), according to PA.
In a statement released to confirm the wedding, Bill and Hillary Clinton said: "We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family.
"On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."
A no-fly zone was in place above the Hudson valley and roads near to the venue were closed as guests arrived in limousines, according to the BBC. Local business owners are also said to have been sworn to secrecy about the wedding, while local residents were given bottles of wine to compensate for the inconvenience.
Guests at the wedding reportedly included Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Barbra Streisand.
