Did anyone else enjoy Eric trying to comfort Chas in Thursday's episode? I thought it was lovely and it really brought out another side to Eric. His grief over Val became obsessive and over the top, but he was much more restrained in these scenes, crying quietly for little Edward and the life he never had. Having spent much of his time in Emmerdale as a pantomime villain, he's really mellowed over the last few years and this was one of his nicer moments.
