need a new book!! any suggestions??
I'm reading A Trick of The Mind by Penny Hancock. I only got it from the Amazon kindle store as it was just 99p. It has a bit of a daft plotline, but it's an addictive read so far and I've been quite gripped. I'm nearly halfway through and I only started the book yesterday.
Anyone got any other recommendations?

I would highly recommend a new book called Pie 'n' Mash & Prefabs......:D
I'm into autobiographies at the moment. Currently reading Pam St Clement's. If I didn't have a low enough opinion of Bryan Kirkwood already
Finished gone girl... disappointed with the ending. Both maze runner and divergent series are excellent
Thank you, Davey. I hope you like it. :)
Welcome back Davey...long time!!
I'm re reading where rainbows end. I love it. I really wanted to read it again after seeing love Rosie the film.
Going to start insurgent next

I'm really tempted to read that, I've heard a lot about that. Didn't Pam only request a break from the show, but Kirkwood decided to kill her off instead? I bet that section of the book is really interesting.
Thanks Katy :) it's nice to be back, good to see you still here and posting.
After I read the Hunger Games, my daughter got me reading Divergent Series and the Maze Runner series.. I was looking for others like this and found a series called Matched (have them ordered) but on reading the reviews everyone was mentioning The Giver so I got those books
Didn't realise this was written in 1993, years before the dystopian hype.. Amazing series.. loved all 4 books and they are not very long. Recommending reading them
I feel somewhat bad but all I seem to read is SoapBoards posts and spoilers :o http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/smile...eys-991245.gif
I've been an avid reader since a very early age, but must admit I now spend most of my free time browsing the internet (mainly Soapboards of course :D). I haven't read a book since parkerman's latest a good few months ago now. I wonder if my brain is rotting? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...ashamed001.gif
I am mostly reading bee stuff as I have two exams on Saturday. :)
I am a bee keeper. :-)
4 hives. They're amazing things.
dup.
Nah nothing to do really until spring. Then it can get a bit hectic. I tried a new anti-swarm thing which worked which was good. But it sort of meant less inspections which was a bit dull. Going to be starting a bee training project off in Spring which will be good.
The supers are heavy when they're full but that means there's lots of honey.

Ok.. I am a book nut and my niece got me a kindle (something I never thought I would ever use as I love the smell and feel of a book).. anyway have been reading tonnes of book, as loads are free on Amazon and I am going to recommend the following if anyone is needs a book to or 10 to read on holidays.
Book series
Gone (6 books in total) - everyone over the age of 15 suddenly disappears and the kids are left to defend themselves.. It was described as Lord of the flies meets X-men meets Stephen King. Bit gruesome in parts but excellent.
The girl in the box (10 books, 1st 3 free on Amazon) - 15 year old girl has basically spend her life locked away by her mum and then her mum just disappears.. there is supernatural powered people in this book and I learnt so much about Greek gods from it
The Testing (3 books) - dystopian series. At the age of 16 a girl is selected for the testing but it is not what it appears to be.
Individual reads
Ugly - book about domestic voilence. I never wanted to kill a fictional character more.
The girl on the Train - Bestseller at the moment and is actually worth a read.
While my eyes were closed - about a women who closes her eyes for a minute and her daughter has disappeared.
There is loads more I have read so it these don't grab your attention I can recommend more!!
Thanks Shiv, what else can you recommend? I devour books and always grateful for recommendations.
Just finished the girl in the Ice.. also good. I don't know if you remember The Bill Tv series, but this book would make a great week long special episode. Matched Series (3 books) is quiet an interesting read. Anything by David Baldacci (particular the ones with Will Robie, the innocent, the hit, the target, and the Guilty).
Just wanted to add that the Slated Series by Teri Terry is also very good (and she is lovely person too, have her as a friend on Facebook and she actually takes time to answer your questions)
Just out of interest, I thought you might like to know that my book, "Pie 'n' Mash & Prefabs", sold something over 13,000 copies in its first year. I don't really know whether that's good or not, but my agent and publisher were very pleased, so I guess it must be good! :D
Unfortunately Shiv I can't find my copy or I would have sent it to you but I will keep looking.
You might be able to buy it on Amazon UK. Your login details should work on all Amazon sites, so I'd imagine a Kindle book would be delivered to your device as per usual. I've never done it myself but I know some people in the UK buy from Amazon's European sites because some products are cheaper (even factoring in the extra postage). My mum has bought me some products from Amazon US to bring back to the UK when visiting that country using her usual Amazon account.
I don't know if it would work for you but it's worth a try!
I don't know if you're reading all this at the moment Shiv, as you are on holiday, or if you've got a Kindle, but I have downloaded books to my Kindle from Amazon UK when I've been in the Canaries, which is where I believe you are at the moment! So you could give that a go.
chicken coops for the soul by julia hollander.
A very good read that I have bought some copies of for friends who keep chcickens.
Unfortunately not... I had an amazon voucher for UK site and it kept redirecting me to DE site where it said I cannot purchase books (kindle or otherwise) from UK site. I rang Amazon and they confirmed as I live in germany I cannot use any other site.... I will ask my niece to get it and when I go back to Ireland I will transfer it to my Kindle.
