Emmerdale's Tom Lister has revealed that he is in a band with two of his fellow castmates.
The Carl King actor disclosed that he started the group Edna's Hat  with co-stars Sian Reese-Williams (Gennie Walker) and Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk)
"We are in a band, three of us from the show - myself, Sian who plays Gennie, Dominic who plays Paddy - and a couple of guys, one from the crew and one friend," he told STV.
Explaining how the band began, the star added: "It was something we kind of fell in to, some of us love singing, some of us love playing instruments and we just kind of fell together at a charity event and it all snowballed there."
Meanwhile, Lister also discussed Emmerdale's 40th anniversary on-screen music festival.
Referring to the appearance from The Proclaimers and their hit 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)', Lister said: "Everybody loves a bit of 'I Will Walk 500 Miles'.
"And Scouting For Girls are friends of Emmerdale, they've been in and sang for us before in The Woolpack, so we we know them really well, and there were also some local bands that aren't as well known."
Emmerdale's birthday week kicks off on Monday, while the soap's much-anticipated live episode airs next Wednesday at 7pm on ITV1.
If there is two deaths hopefully one is Cameron not Carl and as Bernice is returning the other has to be Ashley or Rodney or would they kill off Gaby
Two births, a double wedding, a death and a live episode will be at the centre of Emmerdale’s brilliant 40th birthday week.
We visit the iconic village to talk to brides Lucy Pargeter, 35, (Chas Dingle) and Sammy Winward, 27, (Katie Sugden) about their big days...

The 40th celebration episodes are top secret. But can you give any hints?
There are a couple of big shocks in store. It’s not going to end the way everybody thinks it will and fans of the show are going to be very very surprised with the outcome of the live episode. We certainly were!
Are you pleased with how these shows have turned out?
They are blinding. It’s just non-stop, and everyone’s storyline is coming to a head at the same time.
Of course, Chas is sharing her wedding reception with Katie – what could go wrong? But as for the live episode, I’m bricking it...
What is Chas’s wedding dress like?
It’s the chavviest. Think ?Little Mermaid slash Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. But it’s good because I’m really not like my character, and I step out of her when I step out of her clothes.
Do you ever wish you’d played the posh one?
I don’t know why I get cast as the poor chav!
Maybe it’s because I tend to turn up for auditions hungover and looking like c**p after being out all night!
I do sometimes look at Chas’s costumes and think it’d be good to wear something nice ?for once.
What scenes have you most enjoyed filming?
The vows... and there not being a Dingle fight! I can’t reveal too much, but being in a church and Chas ending up with a different surname is a bonus.
How do you cope with such a heavy workload?
I don’t bring Chas home. I bring the tiredness home but not the emotions. That would be unfair to my family.
What makes this soap so great?
We are a bit of a hippy community here. Everyone has their family roles within the cast.
When I first came, we were all single, sharing digs in Leeds and partying. Life has moved on, but it’s brilliant because our families are part of it, too.
And finally, how are your own wedding plans?
I started a file when I got engaged to Rudi [Coleano]. I’m still at that stage. We’ll get round to it one day!

How are Chas and Katie’s weddings different?
Katie’s big day is designed to be elegant and under-stated, but for Chas it’s all about the Dingles and her sexy senorita wedding dress. It’s rich versus poor.
Will Megan and Robbie ruin Katie’s big day?
There are a few things that could stop the day from running to plan, but it’s an Emmerdale wedding so nothing ever goes to plan. Hopefully they will get married.
Is this happy ever after for Katie?
I would love for them to stay together and be happy. I don’t think you see enough in soaps of couples who survive. ?It still makes good TV! One thing is for sure, Katie is going to get a lot more feisty and start to enjoy the money and the power that comes with it.
Would you share your wedding day?
No way. It’s my day.
Were the scenes as fun to film as they appear?
It always looks glamorous and lovely, but after 12 hours of being unable to eat, drink or sit down, I was ready to rip the dress off.
How are your nerves about the live episode?
The sleepless nights have started already. Put it this way, I’m going to be stocking up on Rescue Remedy and relying on my friends to help me through.
And the live episode is just the start for Katie, really. The events will hit her and Declan like a juggernaut. ?
It paves the way for the biggest storyline I’ve ever done at the end of this year.
As Emmerdale celebrates 40 years, what does it mean to you?
I started in the show when I was 15, so I’ve grown ?up here and the people I work with are my best friends. I only came in for eight episodes and ?I’m still here.
When it ?was the 30th anniversary, it felt very much as if ?I was one ?of the newcomers. But now I’m lucky enough to be a big part of the 40th celebrations and, who knows, I might still be here for the 50th too.
The role is perfect for me. On a practical level, ?I only live an hour away so I get to see my seven-year-old daughter Mia every day, which is worth its weight in gold.
And because all my best friends are on the show, I come in and have a good laugh.

As they prepare to tie the knot on screen, Lucy and Sammy reveal their own big day wishes...
Ideal groom:
Lucy: “I’ve got to say my fiancé Rudi – or maybe Batman actor Tom Hardy.”
Sammy: “Hopefully, The Stone Roses’ Ian Brown.”
Venue:
Lucy: “A beach or field. I’d want to get the ceremony over quickly, then party!”
Sammy: “I would have more of a festival vibe in a tepee. A friend did this recently and it was the best wedding ever.”
The dress:
Lucy: “It’d be very classy and made by Stella McCartney. Or a bikini, if we got wed on a beach!”
Sammy: “I’d go for a lacy look by Alice Temperley.”
Bridesmaids:
Lucy: “I wouldn’t have them. I don’t like the idea of saying one friend is more important than the other. ?But if anyone, it’d be my daughter Lola.”
Sammy: “Mia, who has already been a maid of honour at my sister’s wedding.”
The music:
Lucy: “I’d like a live band to give the day a festival feel, so everyone was dead chilled-out and the wedding was more of a by-product of the party!”
Sammy: “Me too – perhaps we should share our wedding!”
First dance:
Lucy: “It’d be something really cheesy as Rudi’s a massive 1980s soft rock fan. Unlike me, he loves being centre of attention!
Sammy: “I’d choose something everyone could sing along to – perhaps an indie tune by ?The Stone Roses, or something like that.”

Emmerdale is 40 years old today, but for the cast and crew there is little time to celebrate just yet as they plough ahead with the final hours of rehearsal and preparation for Wednesday evening's hour-long live episode.
First broadcast on October 16, 1972, the ITV1 show has transmitted 6,369 episodes to date and established itself as one of the UK's most popular programmes.
While we usually hear of rivalry between the soaps, cast members from Coronation Street, EastEnders, Hollyoaks and Neighbours have recently sent Digital Spy some exclusive messages of support for the Emmerdale team as the serial turns 40 and prepares for one of its biggest challenges.
What do other soap stars have to say about Emmerdale's big birthday and live episode? Read on to find out!
Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy, Neighbours): "Congratulations to all the cast and crew at Emmerdale. 40 years is an amazing milestone and something to be very proud of, and something Neighbours can aspire to reach."
Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson, Neighbours): "We are mere young bucks in our 28th year compared to you guys! Congratulations on your 40th anniversary and may you all be doing it for another 40."
Tameka Empson (Kim Fox, EastEnders): "Emmerdale actors, take a deep breath in, hold for four seconds, breathe out and just let it flow! If you mess up in the live episode, we won't know - just let it flow. Be strong if you get it wrong, but before you're wrong, just try and get it right! But if you can't, be wrong and strong - that's what I'd say! Good luck!"
Bronagh Waugh (Cheryl Brady, Hollyoaks): "All of the people I know at Emmerdale are so wonderful. I think the beautiful thing about the cast on Emmerdale is that they're very humble and they don't take themselves too seriously. They're very down-to-earth actors, and what's apparent to me is that they're a real team. As they're such a lovely team together, I think that's what will get them through the live episode."
Jorgie Porter (Theresa McQueen, Hollyoaks): "I absolutely love Emmerdale, especially as it got quite sexy! There was a point where everybody got a bit fit, and I love what they do with the farm and countryside setting. All of these crazy things happen to hot people in the country!"
Jessica Fox (Nancy Osborne, Hollyoaks): "Congratulations to the cast and crew for the show's 40th birthday. My advice for the live episode is try not to swear! Everything else will probably be fine!"
Claire Cooper (Jacqui Ashworth, Hollyoaks): "The best of luck to Emmerdale's cast and crew for their live ep! They're a fantastic cast, who I know will give stunning performances. This is where TV and stage cross roads! Rock it guys, can't wait to see it."
Matthew Chambers (Daniel Granger, Doctors): "What I'd say to the Emmerdale cast is keep on trucking! I think it's amazing that the programme has been going for 40 years - that's quite something. They've got to be doing something right, haven't they?"
Charlie Clemmow (Imogen Hollins, Doctors): "I'm definitely going to see the live episode - I can't wait. I think it's terrifying and the cast are all very, very brave! I know a couple of people in Emmerdale and I don't envy them in the slightest when it comes to the live episode, but I think it's such a brilliant decision. I think it will really show how wonderful they are at their jobs."
Charlie Condou (Marcus Dent, Coronation Street): "I missed the live episode that we did here at Corrie, but I've done a lot of theatre and I know it's terrifying. It's not as simple as turning up for a normal day of work, as live drama is a whole different kettle of fish. I wish them all the luck in the world and I'm glad that I'm not doing it!"
Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs, Coronation Street): "I've done two live episodes now and I absolutely loved them, so my advice to the Emmerdale cast would be to try and enjoy it! It might be ten years before they get to do it again. For me it was a challenge and everyone loves a challenge - that's what we're in the job for. They've got a great crew behind them at Emmerdale and the director Tony Prescott is absolutely amazing - he's done both of our Coronation Street live episodes. They're in safe hands so I hope they enjoy it!"
Craig Charles (Lloyd Mullaney, Coronation Street): "Everyone's going to be watching the live episode - it's a major TV event. I love watching the live episodes, but I've got to be honest, you do watch just to see people mess up! I think the most disappointing thing about the Corrie live episode was that nobody made a mistake - it was so spot on. Good luck to the cast and crew."
Emmett Scanlan (Brendan Brady, Hollyoaks): "Emmerdale need to stand up and take a much deserved bow. I'll be sitting down watching the live episode, and with the cast they've got and the production behind them that have made it one of the country's most loved programmes, you just know they're gonna smash it. Much love and respect to them all."
Emmerdale Live airs on Wednesday (October 17) from 7pm on ITV1.
