Vernon Kay has apologised on his radio show after sending explicit text messages to around five women.
The All Star Family Fortunes presenter, who has two young daughters with his wife Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly, interrupted his weekly Radio 1 slot to tell his two million listeners he had been "foolish and stupid".
Without referring directly to the texts, Kay said he had "disappointed and let down a lot of people", adding: "To my family and everybody else, I am very sorry."
Kay denied having sex with the women he had texted but admitted he had flirted while using the computer phone service Skype.
In an interview with She magazine just weeks before reports of the raunchy messages emerged, Daly, 38, spoke about how much she trusts her husband.
She said she did not get jealous when the 35-year-old former model got attention from other females, because he told her "all girls ever want to talk about" was her.
The Bolton-born presenter married Daly, also a former model, in 2003 and their daughter Phoebe was born the following year. Their second daughter, Amber, was born in May last year.
The couple worked together in 2007 on the BBC show Just The Two Of Us which saw celebrities performing duets with professional singers.

Chynna Phillips has entered a rehab facility for anxiety.
"With the full support of her family and friends, she is looking forward to her recovery," said her publicist, Lizzie Grubman, who didn't disclose the location. "We ask that people respect her and her family's privacy at this time."
The Wilson Phillips member is the half-sister of Mackenzie Phillips, who last fall claimed to have had an incestuous relationship with their late father, John Phillips. While Chynna's mother, Michelle Phillips, says she does not believe the claims, Chynna has publicly supported Mackenzie.
"I knew it was true," said Chynna Phillips, who has three children with husband Billy Baldwin. "I mean, who in their right mind would make such a claim if it wasn't true?
As half of the Christian pop duo Chynna & Vaughan, the 42-year-old singer released an album, One Reason, in September, a day before Mackenzie's claims were made public.

Kerry Katona has dumped husband Mark Croft after he accused her of being unfaithful, according to a report.
The reality star was furious when Croft became convinced that she had cheated on him during her recent stay at fitness camp, The Sun claims.
A source told the newspaper: "Kerry came back feeling like a million dollars. But Mark, always one to think the worst of her, was convinced she had been seeing someone.
"It was ridiculous but he wouldn't let it lie and they had a huge bust-up. She told him, 'We're finished'."
It is thought that Katona has jetted off for a holiday abroad with her children and wants Croft to be out of their Cheshire home before she returns.
The former I'm A Celebrity... winner has split from Croft in the past, but has allegedly said that the break-up is 'for good this time'.
How often have we read about her dumping him?

She will take him back before the end of the month. It beats me how she can go on so many holidays when she's supposed to be bankrupt, neither one of them has done any real work for years.
