Emmerdale - Current Episode Discussion - III

are we to care about upset joe, who caused amy susy and leyla to die , joe does bad without kim

It's hard to think of Joe as sympathetic. I see him as an evil, malevolent, self-serving character and don't like that the show is trying to make us feel bad for him. I just think of him as an evil brat with a temper. However, I love shows that feature Kim.

It seems they are trying to rehabilitate Joe as "the caring family man now". There is a tendency to change the personality of a character to suit the current story. It is like each story has a separate different person as the main character but they both happen to look the same. On the other hand no one person is just one thing, even the worst criminals can present a completely different face to their family or friends. Soaps I do think overdo this tendency, with Joe we must rely on karma to balance the score.

dawn and kim know what joe is like, what he does and no comeuppance, he has done alot of bad , a stint in prison might change him

Not sure Dawn knows all he has done... but if she does, she still chose him over Billy....

she knows about stealing the kidney, spiking noah which caused 3 deaths, getting celia against moira , terrifing clemmie,

Soap characters rarely get comeuppance unless they choose to leave the programme or their contract expires. They cannot have characters in prison unless it is only for a short time.

could marlon sue for wrongful arrest over graham

I think it would be very hard to prove wrongful arrest, if the evidence suggested that Marlon was the culprit.
