I've handed in all my coursework now, so it's just GCSE exams now, with my first one being in 3 weeks!
 I didn't think they were until May/June. I wish Science and Maths were on the same board. We have a Maths module a week Thusday, then, 4 days later, Science modules. I've had to concentrate on Media coursework over half term along with Frankenstein, so I can't be bothered. My Media teacher said today that he's going to pressure us more than he should for a yrae 10 class, and I'm sat there thinking, 'Like you haven't done that already!'
All I have to do now is my tech coursework, which is driving me crazy
Oh, I did 1A Chemistry and Biology in November. I think you're doing triple if you have three modules. My friend has three and she does triple, but my school doesn't do triple. I have 1B Biology and Chemistry. The Biology 1A is definitely the easiest.
my school only does the single and double award and its the bottom sets that are going the single, and im near the middle.
ok i hate mocks!!, well the re ones anyway. 2 hours writing - no thank you  All i can remeber is walking into the exam center, sitting at my desk, pen in hand....then nothing untill....i get told 5 minutes to the end. But i did do the exam, i just cant remember it :p
We did a mock thing in RE but we only had to do 1 cycle of questions and in a whole exam you have 3. I didn't even finish what I was writing as it is hard to get it all done in the time, but for some strange reason I got full marks.
In our Re exam we have 5 sections to answer, I have no idea how I will remember all the stuff.
Yeah, and on a lesson a week it will be even harder, seeing as they cram it all into the lessons as it is. They must be pretty lenient with the marking, though.
RE is the easiest subject to pass. Its not even about religions mostly, but more about morality. You can make most of it up. I didn't revise it at all (Didn't even glance at anything), and i got a B.
Rule to remember: If you have to go against anything, say the Catholics are against it. Cause 9 times out of 10, they are. e.g. Abortion, Sex before Marriage, Divorce, Cohabitation, remarriage etc etc. Say that everytime, and you'll pass it no problem :p
I didn't finish the paper and I got a B. I completly left the last question cos I got bored with it. So I reckon the marking is pretty lenient, although the grade boundaries vary year to year.
Loved the opinion questions, they were the best. As long as you can back up what you write with reasons it doesn't matter what you put, even if it isn't your opinion.
You can also write in bullet points which is easier because you can see how many points you have.
In RE we do 5 different topics and there is so much to learn
We did a short course for a year covering Christian topics - abortion, euthanasia, marriage, sex before marriage and something else. Memorise the basic facts, many of which we knew already, and the rest was easy.
We did Citizenship in Year 11 which was a load of rubbish.
R.E short course, you can get away with common sense with just a few simple facts thrown in. I didnt turn up to more than 5 lessons over 2 years and came out with an A
I've got my GCSE exam timetable now and have 17 exams to sit in total.
Ive had my exam timetablefor ages but I still havent counted the exams and stuff, maybe I should do that today
I have a maths module on Thursday and 2 science ones on Monday. Not looking forward to more than usual as I am ill, so I'm worried I'll get a B and then not be allowed to resit, because they choose your resits now. Must remember to read the questions properly - I didn't on about 4 in my mock and now my teacher probably thinks I am a total wally lol
I was told that my product design exam was on the 6th June, but I was looking through the diary thing that we got sent at the beginning of the year, and it says it's on the 25th May.
I suppose I should check that out.. :o
I'm glad it is on that date, though, because last year (well, graphic design, anyway) it was on the 6th June, which is not only THREE days after my birthday, but it was (and would be this year) just after my hols. It is a bit depressing to know that you've got an exam as soon as you get back. I had to take revision with me on holiday! Who wants to revise while they're on holiday?!
LOL, well thanks.
Unfortunately, only one (or maybe two) people in my year are taking this exam, so I don't even have anyone to remind me! :(
ahhhhhhh im starting to freak out about exmas now!!!!!
If you're ill on the day of the exam your school can apply for special considerations. You need to get your GP to write a note on headed paper stating what's wrong. The school then write to the exam board/s and apply. As long as they have the evidence then it should be ok. If you fall well below your target grade then exam board will award you your target grade. You can also apply for extended time or a break halfway through.
I got special considerations (a break and the target grade one) for all my GCSE exams because I had been ill for a year before I sat them and I missed a lot of work. I came out with all my target grades which I really wasn't expecting. I cried all the way through my english lit exam because I couldn't do it.
I know this is probably no use as your exam was on Monday but it might be useful for future reference.
I had a 3 mark question in my higher science paper, "Why are some people opposed to the morning after pill?" What the hell has that got to do with science? What a stupid question. I had another one on rabbits. Can't remember what it was but we all came out saying how ridiculous it was, nobody knew what it was on about.
So Kim how did the maths exam go?
I found out today that my Science module exam and Geography DME results are in, i hope i did ok! I haven't gone to find out what my results are yet!
Aww , Im sure you'll have done great Dave
It was totally easy thanks, Abbie. If it didn't have higher paper written on it, with the exception of 2 questions that I think you definitely wouldn't find on foundation, I would have thought that it was the foundation.
I get those rests as a result of my disability, but I don't think I'm ever getting extra time, which I'm not happy about. I'm glad the cold didn't make me feel as bad as I did on Monday especially, as I certainly wouldn't be happy if I was only able to get what I am predicted from my CAT's.
The DME's at my school are in, too. This girl was walking down the corridor cursing as she failed hers and believes that it is because the teacher forced her to sit the higher paper.
Well thats good, glad you thought it was easy :D
