The DS article on "Death in the Outback" week:
Neighbours to air shock death week involving seven characters
Who will not make it back?
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...en-characters/
Neighbours spoilers follow.
Neighbours is set to air a death twist involving seven Erinsborough residents, including fan favourite Toadie Rebecchi.
On August 19, the Aussie soap will kick off the official "Death in the Outback" week of episodes, seeing a bunch of character heading for the remote area but not everyone returning safely.
The focus will be on Toadie, Holly Hoyland, Melanie Pearson, Haz Devkar and Mackenzie Hargreaves, as well as guest stars Anica Calida as Tess Carmichael and Ethan Panizza as Heath Royce.
The tense storyline will see Holly and Heath going on a last-minute holiday without notifying anyone. Holly is blissfully unaware of the danger that lurks around her in the Outback, both on land and in Heath, her secret love interest.
Meanwhile, Toadie and Melanie have disappeared from Erinsborough without a word, causing concern amongst their loved ones.
When Haz and Mackenzie can't reach Holly, they suspect something isn't right and decide to catch the next flight out to the Outback.
The upcoming subplot comes as Ryan Moloney gears up to leave the soap after nearly three decades in the role of Toadie. The actor will depart as series regular, but may still make an appearance down the line.
"After 30 years playing Toadie, I will be leaving Ramsay Street. I can't tell you what is happening to the character ? maybe I could be the next Jim Robinson. Or maybe I'll be the next Harold Bishop and keep popping back over the years," Moloney said of his exit, revealing he'll go on to direct some episodes of Neighbours.
"And although I won't be bringing you our fantastic storylines from in front of the camera, I will be bringing them to you from the other side, behind the camera.
"I've just started director training and have just finished filming my first episode as director ? so I really hope that you enjoy that.
"Thank you all for the love that you have shown me and Toadie over the years. Three decades, in fact. I'll miss you, I'll miss him, and I'll miss Erinsborough? but whatever you do, make sure you don't miss what's going to happen on Ramsay Street."
Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach Comedy.

Neighbours to revisit Dee Bliss's story ahead of Toadie Rebecchi's exit
Toadie gets another blast from the past.
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ory-revisited/
Neighbours spoilers follow.
Neighbours updates fans on Dee Bliss next week as the build-up to Toadie Rebecchi's exit storyline continues.
Dee gets a mention as Toadie becomes reflective over his past in emotional scenes.
This week's episodes see Toadie drawn back to his former home of No.30 after an unexpected accident at the property.
When the sun room collapses, Toadie feels guilty for selling the house to the Varga-Murphy family when the structure was clearly unstable.
Although Cara Varga-Murphy is happy to take care of the repairs herself, Toadie wants to make amends and offers to pitch in.
This leads to Toadie becoming overwhelmed as he spends time in his old home and recounts various memories in conversations with Cara.
Next week, Toadie continues with the repair work and faces another nostalgic moment when a song comes on the radio which reminds him of his late wife Sonya.
Toadie is left emotional and his day takes another unexpected turn when a postcard from his first wife Dee arrives.
Needing someone to talk to, Toadie confides in Karl Kennedy about the strange timing of these reminders from the past. Karl suggests that it might be a good idea to confide in Terese Willis ? his current wife ? about how he's feeling.
Toadie goes ahead and mentions Dee's postcard to Terese, but he fails to share the full story ? keeping quiet over his growing discomfort.
Ryan Moloney announced last month that he'd decided to leave Neighbours after playing Toadie for nearly 30 years.
In a statement, he explained: "After 30 years of playing Toadie, I will be leaving Ramsay Street. I can't tell you what is happening to the character ? maybe I could be the next Jim Robinson. Or maybe I'll be the next Harold Bishop and keep popping back over the years.
"And although I won't be bringing you our fantastic storylines from in front of the camera, I will be bringing them to you from the other side, behind the camera. I've just started director training and have just finished filming my first episode as director ? so I really hope that you enjoy that."

Neighbours' Toadie Rebecchi to hide another secret from Terese Willis
Their marriage could be heading for trouble.
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...nother-secret/
Neighbours spoilers follow.
Neighbours favourite Toadie Rebecchi continues to hide his inner turmoil from his wife Terese Willis next week.
The Ramsay Street lawyer realises that it's time to speak to someone about his ongoing troubles ? but he remains determined that Terese shouldn't find out.
Toadie has been visibly struggling over the past few weeks, feeling haunted by reminders of his past with Dee Bliss and Sonya Rebecchi.
Melanie Pearson also inadvertently made Toadie feel worse when she admitted that they were never meant to be together, after rushing into their marriage in 2022.
Next week, Terese notices that Melanie once again seems uncomfortable around her and Toadie. This comes as a surprise, as they'd finally seemed to have resolved their issues.
The secret reason for this is that Toadie recently lost his temper with Melanie, in an uncharacteristic outburst while visiting Sonya's mural. Melanie agreed to keep quiet about this, but is still unsettled by the angry encounter.
Terese assumes that Melanie is keeping her distance because she and Toadie are planning a party to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Toadie is relieved that Terese is on the wrong track over what the issue is.
Melanie also goes along with the lie to respect Toadie's confidence, which resolves any immediate problems.
Later, with Terese totally oblivious to Toadie's ongoing stress, she confides in Susan Kennedy about how she's considering changing her surname to Rebecchi.
Karl also gets involved when he urges Toadie to speak to someone about what's bothering him.
Terese approaches Toadie about the possibility of changing her name and he covers his unease by feigning enthusiasm. Karl sees through this and warns Toadie that it's yet more evidence he can't keep ignoring his troubles.
Toadie finally relents and reaches out to the Rebecchi family's counsellor Rhonda for an appointment. He's adamant that Terese shouldn't be involved, but can he continue to keep her in the dark?
Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, August 5.

DS article:
Neighbours fans shocked by Toadie Rebecchi axing revelation
"It was their choice".
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ng-fans-shock/
Neighbours revealed the surprise news last month that soap stalwart Toadie Rebecchi will soon be leaving Erinsborough behind, after almost three decades on the show.
While many may have presumed that Ryan Moloney, who has played Toadie since 1995, made the decision to leave himself, the actor has now revealed that it "actually wasn't my choice" - although he had actually been thinking of leaving before the show was cancelled in 2022.
When Neighbours was revived by streaming service Amazon Freevee several months later, Moloney agreed to return as Toadie, but he is now going ahead with his plan to depart his role.
"It was their choice," he told Back to the Bay about his exit. "I've been wanting to leave for quite a long time, but Neighbours is one of those jobs that you work with awesome people."
He added: "I'm quite grateful that they actually made that decision for me, because I don't think that I could ever say no to a contract. I think I'd always be kind of like, 'Oh, yes, okay, I'll do another one'.
"And that's kind of not the way you want to be doing Neighbours. You don't want to have that kind of level of resentment in there. So I was very grateful for it."
With Toadie set to be involved in the soap's upcoming 'Death in the Outback' week later this summer, it is possible that Toadie may not be getting a happy ending, as the soap has already teased that somebody will be losing their life in the special episodes.
While Moloney wouldn't reveal the circumstances of his character's exit, he did reveal that he "would be happy" if Toadie was killed off, so long as his character was making a noble sacrifice.
"I've always kind of said that if Toadie was going to get killed off, I'd like him to stop a bomb threat in Ramsay Street by jumping on the bomb and saving the lives of everyone, but him just getting blown to pieces," he said.
Fans have shared their surprise at the axing news on X, with one writing, "It certainly reads like Ryan didn't know when he returned, so I think it might have been based on the viewer reaction to him & Terese."
Another viewer wrote, "He says he's wanted to leave for a while but this wasn't his decision, seems odd to me that he came back last year as he had a pretty perfect ending when Neighbours 'finished'. In some ways, it's a pity he did as the Terese marriage was never really a winner".
Meanwhile, another fan shared a theory about how Toadie might leave, writing, "I think he'll go missing in the outback, presumed dead, possibly leaving it open for a return."

Neighbours' Toadie Rebecchi shocks Terese with new outburst
He gets upset over Sonya's Nursery.
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...shocks-terese/
Neighbours spoilers follow.
Neighbours favourite Toadie Rebecchi struggles to hide his ongoing struggles from his wife Terese Willis next week.
Toadie lets his inner turmoil show when he reacts badly to Terese's efforts to get Sonya's Nursery back on track.
The Erinsborough lawyer was recently left upset when he discovered that his late wife's business had fallen into disrepair.
The most recent tenants pulled out of the nursery due to competition from bigger garden centres in the area. This left Toadie at a crossroads over what to do with the site.
In this week's episodes, Toadie's teenage daughter Nell pays a visit to Sonya's Nursery and is shocked by the poor state of the place.
Nell confronts Toadie, who reluctantly explains the issue with the tenants. His revelations confuse Nell and Terese, who don't understand why he hid the truth from them.
In follow-on scenes next week, Terese leads the efforts to bring Sonya's Nursery back from the brink as she launches a major restoration project.
Toadie pretends to be on board with Terese's involvement, but there's a part of him that feels uncomfortable over her wading in.
Later, Toadie ends up feeling even worse when he overhears Nell and Terese discussing Nell's crush on JJ. He's put out that Nell can't confide in him in the same way.
Father and daughter unite for a heart-to-heart and Toadie is surprisingly understanding, despite his past issues with JJ. Although he gives his blessing, he also encourages Nell not to rush into anything.
Shortly afterwards, Toadie returns to the nursery and is surprised to find that Terese has been talking to estate agent Rhett Norman.
Terese announces a potential solution, suggesting that Eirini Rising could take on the nursery as a community garden.
Toadie is livid that control is being taken away from him again, so he loses his composure and snaps that Terese's idea won't be happening. How will Terese react to Toadie's erratic behaviour?
