Like most students at West Beverly Hills High, Navid Shirazi has had a pretty eventful year. Following his split from childhood sweetheart Adrianna Tate-Duncan, he suffered a life-threatening fall at the hands of local drug dealer Jasper - and the drama doesn't stop there. As 90210 heads towards its second season finale, actor Michael Steger promises a "major confession" from his alter ego, which has far-reaching ramifications for those around him. Intrigued, we caught up with the man himself for a quick chat.

How is Navid coping since he broke up with Adrianna?
"He's having a hard time - especially since he was pushed down a flight of stairs! Just when things are going really good for him, something bad happens. But he's thrown himself into work at Blaze News and he's since started falling for his star reporter Lila."

Is he fully over Adrianna?
"He and Adrianna do end up becoming friends, but I think he still has feelings for her. He's really happy with Lila for now though and things are going well between them. It's gonna be a long-running romance - it looks like he could be happy for once!"

Adrianna and Gia start a romance soon. How does Navid feel about that?
"According to Navid, he's responsible for her wanting to be gay - he thinks he's made her not like guys! The whole thing makes him feel really insecure. Gia and Adrianna get close, but I'm hoping they don't become a proper couple. Navid works with Gia and he likes her, but there's this resentment building up because of what happens with Adrianna. It's a hard situation for him to come to terms with."

Navid has played a big part in trying to bring Jasper down. How do things progress with that story?
"No-one else believes Navid when he says that Jasper pushed him, so he recruits Adrianna to help make Jasper confess about the drugs. He ends up buying cocaine to plant in Jasper's locker with a plan to call the authorities. Navid's going to end up in trouble again - big trouble!"

What will Jasper do with his knowledge about Annie and the hit-and-run?
"There's a blackmail story coming up. Just when you think Jasper's down, he finds a way to manipulate the situation! He takes control of Annie and it's interesting to see how she is around him. He's a smart guy and he knows how to get to people. You're gonna see just how smart he is in the next episode - he does some sneaky stuff."

Who is the one person who could bring Jasper down?
"Without giving too much away, it's someone that you least expect..."

Have you filmed the season two finale yet?
"We just filmed it - it was pretty major! We did an 11-day shoot on location and there was a lot going on. Someone's car caught on fire! A lot of crazy stuff happens. Navid ends up confessing something... He comes full circle, something happens to the teens, and he makes a major confession which propels the story into season three."

Do you know what's in store next season?
"Not yet, but there are hints of what's to come in the season two finale. Navid's confession will definitely impact what happens next year..."

Trevor Donovan has admitted that he finds 90210's lesbian storyline "pretty hot".

On the show, Jessica Lowndes's alter ego Adrianna has grown increasingly close to Gia (Rumer Willis), resulting in a relationship between the pair.

Donovan, who plays Teddy Montgomery on the teen drama, told DS that he believes the plot was a "bold move" by the show's producers.

Asked how his character feels about the relationship, he replied: "To tell you the truth, I don't think it's really touched upon that much.

"Personally, I like it - it's pretty hot! That was an interesting and bold move by the producers - and I think it's gonna pay off very well. Teddy focused on his relationship with Silver."

According to People, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe will all have cameos in the upcoming third season premiere.

The trio, who are currently starring on reality show Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, are expected to play themselves on the programme.

Kim Kardashian has previously had roles in CSI: NY and Beyond The Break.

90210 will return for its third season on The CW in September.
