When Ruby says she does not want to make up with father, why can Stephanie and Caleb not accept this. I have never understood this idea that "closure" can make everything alright. Somethings can never be made alright or forgiven. Steph is not trying to make things better for Ruby, I think she is doing it for herself. I am pretty sure this is going to be an abuse story, there have been hints.
With Emmerdales fascination with gangster stories it is a pity they are so bad at them. They really are stretching believability too far. Jade must know by now now that Ross did not take the money, but still she persists. If Ross could find ?10,000 that easily, I doubt he would have been getting his brains scrambled in illegal boxing matches in the first place. For all she knows the police may have it, and if she is worried about her reputation she could simply spread that story. Are we really meant to believe that her thug, would throw a 15 year old schoolgirl, of a public multi storey car park just because she told him to. That a man who works for wages would risk a life sentence to please her. That he would commit murder in a place that probably has CCTV and or number plate recognition at the entrance or exit, it must have been a quiet day in Hotton when no one noticed teenage girl being dangled off a car park roof. That Mack, who when he was introduced to us, had overpowered Cain and put him in a car boot, stands there and let the female thug hit him in the mouth. That Ross, a supposed hardman, would not retaliate against her and her thugs in some way. I doubt Jade wants a war. Mike Tyson said "Everyone has a plan until they get a punch in the mouth". Would Jade's continue if facing similar threats, she is only getting away with it because Ross is letting her. Alternatively Ross could simply disappear then Jade would have nothing to gain from carrying her threats. The episode started with a montage of sad and miserable characters but when we got to the multi storey I found it to be comedy relief.
Just had thought while posting the above, how do thugs like Jade's get paid. Do they get an hourly rate, a weekly wage, an annual salary or a bundle of cash every now and again. However it is, it must be a lot, to throw a schoolgirl of a roof.
