Was there something off with the quality. Something didn?t seem quite right with filming. Grey looked added in at the Vic, maybe due to COVID filming?
And again the police are talking as if Phil Mitchells is Pablo Escobar, the Krays and Al Capone combined.
At least Gray is lucky in one very important respect. Chantelle's death will be investigated by the joint most incompetent police force in Britain (equalled only by Weatherfield's finest).
...........
Gray threatening to strangle his kids was too much for me, a sad ending for Chantelle, if it drags out for a year until Gray is found out it will a ruin a good storyline but if it helps one person at least speak out and leave a bad relationship it is a win, the actors involved did a great job given how filming was with Covid, well done to the show
Didn't see it - how did she die?
They got into a heated argument. Chantelle told gray she was leaving, but he wouldn?t move, he pushed her and she fell onto the open dishwasher. Where a knife was upright. But then he left to get a alibi and phoned 999, and told them she had had a accident.
while the death could be an accident, he left her to die
I?ve seen a lot of people say he didn?t mean to kill her. It wasn?t premeditated murder, but the moment he left her to die, it became murder.
I don't think he intended to kill her but considering the stuff he's done before like forcing her to keep her head under water in the bath, he's certainly got the potential, and the fact he didn't phone the ambulance right away is against him.
Not to mention he's staged the scene. The toy car and the milk bottle are obviously meant to make it look like Chantelle slipped on the car while holding the bottle. I hope Suki makes a comment as she certainly seemed a bit suspicious of him. Also, wouldn't Kheerat's phone have the multiple missed calls listed?
EE was both haunting and harrowing
I'm afraid it does.
The mens rea of murder is either an intention to kill or an intention to cause grievous bodily harm for the defendant to have the mens rea of murder. There must be clear evidence of an intention which is proved not only when the defendant's motive or purpose is to kill or cause grievous bodily harm (direct intent), but when death or grievous bodily harm is a virtually certain consequence of the defendant's act.
Gray knew that by walking away death (or grievous bodily harm) was likely to result, thus the intention was clear, making it murder.
You get 1st, 2nd degree murder and manslaughter.
1st degree is intentionally planning beforehand and killing.
2nd degree is intentional, but could be a heat of the moment thing, like Gray's 'red mist' comment, but is still intended.
Manslaughter could be like a struggle and someone falls back and dies due to an injury or gets run down by a car etc.
karen worried about gray if only she knew
why was karen not rang to be informed and take the grandkids, mother dead dad arrested but let whitney a stranger basically have them
The closest equivalent I can think of is culpable homicide, but in the UK you only get that under Scots law, I don't know what the English law equivalent would be.
we have a new lily and hope
I wish Ruby had gone to the police. Jean has the right idea.
