INT. PAIGNTON POLICE STATION - DAY
James is taking a shower in the men's changing rooms at the station. We see the close up of a womans high heels walking across the changing room floor. It is Lorraine, she picks up James towel and waits for him to finish his shower.
The shower stops pouring, James shakes the water off his hair then steps out of the public showers to grab his towel. He is shocked to see Loriane standing there, his immediate reaction is to cover his privates.
James: Lorraine! Erm... I Mean Super Intendant Purvis... I was just... erm...
Lorraine: Oh dont mind me...it's noting I haven't seen before.
Lorraine checks out James' body and smiles to herself. She gives him a flirtatious look.
James: Erm...can I have my towel Marm...
Lorraine passes James his towel, he wraps it around himself.
Lorraine: You can call me Lorraine... dont mind the formalities... I'm quite a releaxed person...
James: Was there something that you wanted?
Lorraine: Oh yes you...
James has a shocked look on his face.
James: Pardon!?
Lorraine... In my office... as soon as you can. I need a word.
James: Oh...okay...I'll be right up...
Lorraine: I'll lock forward to it.
Lorraine walks out of the changing rooms. James has a confused, but slightly pleased look on his face.

INT: JENKINS MANOR
Siobhan is looking through a photograph album on the patio in the grounds of the manor. Nick walks up, and sits next to each other. He points at a photo of him and Richard...
Nick: That was from a few years ago. We went on this holiday to Tunisia. He was chatting to an old woman in some shop, and she said something in Arabic. He didn't understand, so just walked off. And this woman came up to him and just started whacking him constantly with a stuffed Camel!! It was so funny!
Siobhan: He never?!
Nick: Yup, he did! You should have been there...
Theres an ackward silence between the pair.
Siobhan: Whats it like... to have all of this?
Nick: What dya mean?
Siobhan: To grow up with all the money, the big houses...
Nick: Well... you know... its all i've ever known...
Siobhan: People must look at you differently... I dont want to sound rude or anything, but you've got everything you'd ever want....
Nick: I guess so. Its tough, sometimes, but thats just life. Everything has its up and downtimes.
Siobhan: Yep, thats the way the cookie crumbles!
Nick: I wouldn't change any of it though. Not the cars, the money, the houses... none of it. Its worth the bad luck.. the users... everything.

INT: PAIGNTON POLICE STATION
Lorraine is sitting on the edge of her desk, leaning over changing her shoes. James walks in, and coughs quietly...
James: Sorry, is this a bad time?
Lorraine: Oh, no no, sorry. Come on in.
James: You called?
Lorraine: Yeah, i've been looking through the records of all the police officers here, and i think its about time theres an overhaul.
James: An overhaul? What are you trying to say?
Lorraine: Well, some people are going to have to go, aren't they... i mean, if you take a look at the records of some of the people here, you'd think we didn't have a job to do.
James: You mean.... you're sacking me?!
Lorraine: no, of course not James! I wouldn't do that to you!
James: So, why are you telling me all of this...?
Lorraine: I want to promote you. To inspector.
Lorraine smiles gently at James. He grins with delight.

A promotion?? but at what cost? will he have to sleep with the boss to get it??

INT: ANDREW'S HOUSE
James walks into in house, with a huge grin on his face. He throws his jacket he was carrying onto the floor, and rushes over to Val and hugs her tightly.
Val: Whats all this?!
James: You never guessed what happened at work today!!
Val: No, i can't... But hurry up and spit it out, i'm going to a shopping sale in Torbay. They have shoes to die for!
James: I've got a promotion!
Val: Oh right, thats great... Anyway, i'll be back once the sales over. I'll get myself a bargin yet!
James: Didn't you hear me?! I got a promotion, Val! To inspector!
Val: Yeah, i did. And thats great. But i'm going out now, so i'll see you later.
Val kisses him on the cheek and walks out. James feels deflated and frustrated.
