Hopefully Corrie will have seen how unpopular the child murderer story has been over on EastEnders and not go there, though the reception would probably be different if they did. Lucy was sorting her life out and was growing to be quite responsible (running Ian's businesses and house when he did a runner) and Callum is an out and out baddie.
I read something that Stuart Blackburn had been fired rather than choosing to leave, for a series of bizarre plots. Maybe he suggested child murderer and that was another nail in his coffin so to speak.
re behind the scenes footage- I will be looking
at the actual episode - anything else to me
would be distracting- but perhaps thats the
intention??
Im not too concerned if anyone fluffs their
lines a bit -more interested in how the story
unfolds and how believable it is and how well
its acted!
Regarding grim/ dark and Corrie never done
anything like it before? comments.
It would have to be good and something
very unexpected to happen to be even half
as good as some of the stories /acting over
the years but we wont know til episode is
shown!!?
Max - no. Everyone would say Corrie was copying EE if they went there. Anyway, Gail's taken the kids to Audrey's and I think that's where they'll remain for the live episode.
I can definitely see Todd and/or Tony doing the deed though. Neither of them would have any qualms after what Callum did to Jason.
I don't think Bobby killing Lucy's been unpopular at all. Yes, a lot of people disapproved when it was revealed (I do a lot of reading around various sites and I'd estimate it was probably half and half loved/hated the idea - I loved it personally), but lots of them subsequently came round to the idea because of the huge fallout potential of the storyline.
Unfortunately, it hasn't completely lived up to its potential (and has been downright silly at times) but it has had moments of greatness (and I'm still optimistic for a few more). Tuesday's episode focused on Max was excellent.
I think it's aimed at people who can't seem to concentrate on one thing at a time and are constantly checking at their phones/tablets etc while watching TV. Like you, I'd find that way too distracting and wouldn't be able to follow anything.
Let's keep our fingers crossed we'll be pleasantly surprised. :)
I cant really picture Todd becoming a killer. He has done some pretty bad things but he is no killer. Acidentally killing Callum also doesn't seem like a storyline to go down with Todd.
My bet is Bethany or Gail. Gail will be involved as its possible the entire Platt family wont know the true events but I reckon Gail will know at the least.

If Callum ends up under her garage convertion .. could Gail sleep there ?? :hmm:
I agree, but he can be a nasty piece of work and, teamed up with Tony, I wouldn't put it past the pair of them. If they did kill Callum, I think it's more likely to be accidental than murder.
Gail won't be in the live episode. She's taken the kids to Audrey's for the night so none of the four will appear.
See my last reply. If it happens, Gail's unlikely to learn about it until the body's discovered.
He may be slightly biased after being hired by the show, but Stephen Mulhern is still doing a pretty good job of upping our excitement for Coronation Street Live.
The TV host is fronting backstage show Coronation Street Live: Uncovered tonight (September 23), so he's one of the few people who know the secrets of the special broadcast after watching the cast in rehearsals.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine this morning, Mulhern predicted that Corrie fans will be shocked when they see the drama that unfolds tonight.
"What happens on this Street tonight you will not believe," he promised. "I've seen the run-through. They're going to do another one today which we're going to get to see. I love Corrie. I've been a fan of Corrie for years and years.
"But the first part, I would say is possibly the most explosive TV I've ever seen. If they don't get some awards for this, then there's something wrong."
Coronation Street Live will air on ITV from 7.30pm tonight and will explore an explosive evening for the Platt family as Callum Logan closes in on them.
Mulhern's backstage show will follow on ITV2 at 10pm.

Bits in bold: That's a lot of hype to live up to but I must admit I'm getting really excited now! I wonder if a major character will die as some of you have speculated?
Hope it is not going to turn out to be a damp squid but looking forward to it too :)
