Dales star on West End stage

EMMERDALE’S Verity Rushworth is swapping the country for the bright lights of the city – as she’s just bagged herself a part in a West End musical.

The actress, who plays Donna Windsor-Dingle in the ITV1 soap, will join Hairspray in February as Penny Pingleton.

Verity will leave the Dales for good on January 30 after Donna’s marriage to Marlon breaks down.

Meanwhile, the original Emmerdale Farm house has gone up for sale at just over £1 million.

Lindley House, near Otley in Leeds, was used in the title scenes of the soap from 1972 to 1993 when the camera panned across the Yorkshire countryside and came to rest on the farm.
