"This year we will see ongoing tensions between sergeants Smithy and Callum - there's lots of physical stuff coming up! The cops go on a big riot-training session, and Callum and Smithy really come to blows. Callum believes in justice, but feels the law doesn't always help people get it. So it's about how far he's prepared to go to achieve a result and the effect that has on those around him - they'll be at the heart of this storyline."
Mel's Family
"We recently met Mel's brother, Jordan, and we'll see her undermined by him. He gets himself into quite a fix, and it's really nice because it means we'll get to see a different side to Mel. It's very difficult when a cop has to deal with someone they know - or even worse, someone they're related to. It's handled very well!"

"Will still has some way to go to prove himself to his new colleages in CID. But the trainee DC is settling in well so far, and has some very good relationships with those around him. There's some nice stuff coming up with Grace and Terry where Will sets sets out to impress them - but Terry takes a little more convincing than Grace!"
