We put a few questions to Jason Smith about Robbie's break-up with Tasha!
How did Robbie feel when Tasha said 'it’s over'?

Jason "He’s devastated because Robbie thought that what he and Tasha had was very special and extremely unique. He doesn’t understand why she has made this decision."

Have you ever experienced a broken heart yourself?

Jason "Can’t say I have – touch wood! I haven’t been in that many relationships!"

Do you have any tips for someone who’s getting over a broken heart?

Jason "That’s a hard question! When you love someone and it ends it’s hard to get over. The best thing to do would be to get a hobby or read, just something to take your mind off it. Easy to say but hard to do!"

Do you think Robbie can win Tasha back?

Jason "Robbie and Tasha have a very special relationship. At the moment they are just in a really complicated situation. We will have to wait and see what happens."

HOW TO DEAL WITH REJECTION

Nothing feels as painful as your first broken heart. If you’ve been told those awful words: ‘it’s over’ it may be the first time in your life you’ve had to deal with such an emotional loss. The pain is so hurtful you can hardly bear it. You cry a lot. You’re probably experiencing ‘heart break’ and it does feel as if your heart may break!

You can be consumed with emotions of sadness, anger, jealousy, loneliness betrayal, confusion, grief and other negative stuff. Will you ever experience happiness again? Yes!

When you have a break up, the overwhelming feeling of loss affects your present life and you think it also threatens your future happiness. But a thing called TIME will help, although that doesn’t help you now.

LOVE HURTS

In your grieving, there’s a process you’re actually going through which is all part of the cycle of life. It’s also part of being human and shows that love hurts. When you come through the other side of all the hurt and anger, you’ll come to a stage of acceptance. You might even come to realize it was all for the best, and you’ll move on. But there are a lot of tears along the way.

YOU NEED SOME INSTANT HELP

You will have lots and lots of heart-to-hearts with your best friend or your mum and you will need comforts, such as lots of your favourite ice cream, choccies, or some new clothes.

You will also need distractions such as going to see some movies, preferably a comedy. Surround yourself with friends. Perhaps contact old friends you’ve not seen for a while.

Keep busy. Learn something completely new, something that will rebuild your confidence.

Take good care of yourself. You owe it to yourself! Eat well, exercise, get plenty of sleep.

It may console you a teensy weensy little bit to know that everyone, at least once in their life will suffer a broken heart.

IN THREE MONTHS’ TIME

The mending of a broken heart takes time but you’ll be surprised to discover that you can be happy again. You may even be interested in someone else by now.
