Jodie
Coronation Street has revealed the true identity of Corriedale's mystery woman ? and it looks like a big new storyline is about to begin for Shona Platt as a result. Fans have been speculating over new character Jodie, who's been secretly watching the Platt family since making her debut on screen this week. But what is she really up to?
Wednesday's episode of Corrie is a special single-storyline edition, focusing entirely on David and Shona's journey as they prepare for the complex surgery that could save the life of their baby daughter.
The couple are upset when they discover that the consultant surgeon who was due to carry out the operation has been detained.
A replacement, Vincent Harper, is soon brought on board but anxious David and Shona can't help fretting about whether he'll be good enough.
Meanwhile, Jodie continues to lurk nearby after following the Platts from Hotten General to Weatherfield General.
While Shona is down in the operating theatre, Jodie behaves suspiciously by stealing a teddy and heading into her empty hospital room. She buries her face in Shona's dressing gown, breathing in her scent.
Later, relieved David and Shona get to meet their daughter for the first time following a successful operation and safe delivery of their baby.
Clearly going nowhere, persistent Jodie spies on them through the window, prompting a stranger to ask whether she's a proud mum.
"Proud auntie," Jodie replies.
Jodie's arrival in Corriedale saw her tied up in the back of a van being driven by returning Emmerdale character Graham Foster.
She managed to escape from the vehicle and although Graham tracked her down again, he ultimately abandoned his sinister plans for her. Fans have speculated that Graham has been working as a hitman for hire after being presumed dead for the past six years.
Corriedale first teased Jodie's connection to Shona when they were seen to have matching tattoos. Jodie was also visibly shocked when she first saw the Platts at Hotten General and immediately started keeping watch on them, with her strange antics going unnoticed amid the stresses of recent days.
Spoilers for next week have already revealed that Jodie will soon make her presence known, but how will Shona feel about having her sister in town?

Coronation Street's producer Kate Brooks has spoken about the bombshell arrival of Shona Platt's sister for the first time ? and it sounds like she could bring major trouble to the cobbles. The ITV soap has just introduced Olivia Frances-Brown in the role of Jodie, who is Shona's younger sibling.
Jodie made her first appearance in the Corriedale crossover special earlier this week, when she was seen tied up in the back of a van being driven by returning Emmerdale character Graham Foster. Since then, Jodie has been keeping an eye on the Platt family after crossing paths with Shona by chance.
Speaking in a new interview, Brooks confirmed: "The mysterious lady with a tree tattoo is called Jodie ? and she is Shona's sister! We've mentioned on the show previously that Shona has a younger sister, so we felt the time was right to bring her into the mix and unpack a bit of Shona's backstory.
"That's where Jodie comes into the picture. She's a complicated character, and she comes with a lot of baggage. Their relationship as sisters is quite fraught ? they've got a lot of history between them. There's some deep-seated resentment there as well but they love each other, they do have that bond."
"Even though they've been estranged for a number of years, that bond is still very strong," Brooks continued. "But Jodie is a really interesting character. She's a bit of a troublemaker. She's got a bit of mischief in her eyes.
"All is not what it seems with Jodie. There are a lot of layers to her and the audience are going to have a lot of fun unpeeling those. We'll be unravelling who Jodie is as a character and what she wants."
The arrival of Jodie is sure to bring plenty of drama to Shona and David's door, just after the couple welcomed the arrival of their baby daughter Harper in emotional circumstances.
Spoilers for next week have revealed that Jodie befriends Bethany and Lily, but Nick is much more wary.
Brooks teased: "Keep an eye on her, because there are lots of secrets to explode. She is going to come and bring an awful lot of drama to the Platt household. Whilst they've got Jodie to contend with, they've also got baby Harper to look after as well, so they are being pulled from pillar to post.
"Jodie comes in as sort of a lifesaver and makes herself invaluable to that family unit. But she may have ulterior motives!
"We'll find out exactly why she was in that van. We'll find out what her link to Graham is. From my time when I worked at Emmerdale, Graham was a character with a murky past who was capable of many things. For Jodie to be embroiled with somebody of that ilk sheds a light on what kind of character she is and what to expect.
"We will absolutely reveal what went on between them and what Graham's role was in it all. Keep a lookout for it, because it's story that goes on to be really big as we get into spring and summer. There's a lot of drama for the Platts coming up!"
