Emmerdale fans see John Sugden's worst fears become reality next week, when Aidan Moore wakes up from his coma ? and Moira Dingle reveals that the village lake must be dredged. Is the end in sight for the cold-hearted killer?
While visiting his nephew Harry at the hospital following the contaminated water scandal, John is delighted when his sister Victoria expresses her gratitude for his support.
However, John is thrown back to earth when he crosses paths with Aidan's mum, Cathleen, who assumes that John has heard news about Aidan ? and insists that he join her to go see him?
"This news is very unsettling for John," reveals our Emmerdale source. "So far, he has been able to visit Aidan undetected, but he now realises how dangerously close his ex-fianc? is to his nephew at the hospital.
"That quickly becomes the least of his worries though, when Aidan's eyes ping open at the mention of his name.
"We'll have to see whether it's odd timing, or whether Aidan understands what's happening ? but either way, Emmerdale fans should brace themselves for what's to come?"
The next day, John receives word that Aidan has officially woken up from his coma. Petrified, John races to his former lover's bedside and tries to gauge just how much danger he could be in.
Luckily for him, Aidan remains non-verbal, and he also hears that Harry is fit to return home ? but little does he know that another one of his fellow villagers is about to make his life even harder?
After Belle Dingle shares a chat with Tracy Robinson, she starts to suss out that something isn't right about Nate Robinson's disappearance. Before long, Belle decides that she should travel to Scotland to search for her nephew, before informing Sam Dingle that Nate never arrived for his new job.
"Belle is a clever cookie," our insider continues. "She senses that it isn't in Nate's character to vanish without a trace. Cain eventually gets wind of the situation too, and he struggles to process that his son could be missing.
"But his panic is nothing compared to John's, as he battles to convince Belle that Nate's absence isn't worth reporting as he won't want to be found. At this rate, John should win a Guinness World Record for the number of plates he's spinning!"
With John's words on her mind, but also for Tracy and Frankie Robinson's sake, Belle decides against contacting the police. In fact, the wedding planner puts her worries to the back of her mind as her family prepare for Aaron Dingle's big day.
Sadly, though, Belle's lack of focus doesn't end up offering the reprieve that John might have hoped for. Just as things start to look up, the medic overhears Moira reveal to Cain that the water company are set to drain the lake.
As Nate's arm drifts just below water level, is John's web of lies about to come crashing down around him? And if so, will he go quietly ? or put up a deadly fight?

Emmerdale's Sarah Sugden is given heartbreaking news that could shatter her baby dreams next week, when doctors tell her they've found some worrying symptoms that could indicate cancer.
This terrifying prospect puts Sarah on edge as she awaits her biopsy, but as her distracted family are too busy to listen, is there anyone poor Sarah can confide in? And might this diagnosis put an end to her hopes of a family?
"Sarah's had a lifetime of devastating health problems," our Emmerdale source reminds us.
"Just as she takes exciting steps to fulfil her dreams of having a child, and embrace adulthood, this news is a crushing reminder of how fragile her life is?"
Sarah's plans to start a family escalate next week as she prepares for her appointment at a fertility clinic. Worried her family will judge her choices, Sarah keeps it secret from her loved ones.
But there is one small problem: IVF comes at a big cost. Needing some extra cash to pay for going private, Sarah manipulates her granddad Cain Dingle into giving her an advance on her wages and he's none the wiser?
At the clinic, the doctor raises her concerns about Sarah's determination to become a mother in light of her serious medical history.
Despite the doctor's reservations, Sarah's mind is made up ? she wants a baby no matter what. But she's desperate to keep it secret from her family.
"Sarah is bursting with excitement at the thought of being a mum," our insider continues. "But Dr Knapp has troubling news ? she's found inflammation in Sarah's cervix. This could be the awful news she has cancer again."
After her appointment, Sarah can do nothing but fear the worst. Although in the past she's been able to find comfort in Jacob Gallagher or confide her private thoughts with Vanessa Woodfield, this time she can't bear to face the truth and suffers alone in her nightmare.
Unable to cope, Sarah eventually tries to speak to Charity and Cain, but they're both too busy to give her the time of day. With her grandparents distracted by Nate Robinson's disappearance, Sarah heads to her next appointment alone.
"This is a life-changing moment and Sarah has nobody," our source adds. "The biopsy results are here and Sarah's forced to confront her fate with no support. Will it be good news or the cancer she fears?"
Why would Belle listen to John, why is any of them listening to John

Emmerdale's Moira Dingle will consider making a huge change after 16 years, as a new arrival shakes things up at Butler's Farm.
This week, Moira discovers a mysterious letter addressed to 'The Family of Emma Barton'. She initially keeps the note to herself but, struggling to suppress memories of pushing Emma to her death, she later shows it to Ross.
The note reveals Ross has a long-lost brother called Lewis, whose existence he was completely unaware of. The pair meet up, but Lewis's probing questions about his family cause an overwhelmed Ross to leave the conversation.
In next week's episodes, Lewis continues his attempt to connect with Ross, who reluctantly agrees to meet up again.
Lewis starts asking his brother about some of the dark family secrets and when he asks to meet Moira, Ross is hesitant.
Moira is already at her wits' end when Ross arrives, telling her that the long-lost son of a woman she killed is waiting outside for her.
Though she braces herself for the encounter, Moira quickly buckles under the weight of the painful memories that have all been brought up again.
The next day, Ross is still adjusting to having a new sibling in his life. But when he hears Lewis is growing weed, he suddenly becomes interested in the endeavour.
Meanwhile, the farm's ever-growing financial troubles will soon be made worse by a serious leak with the slurry tank, leading a weary Moira to make a difficult decision as she considers packing it all in.
Later, Lewis and Ross continue to bond and Ross acquires a few cannabis plants. Mack discovers the illicit plan and is sworn to secrecy by Ross.
Having been blamed for the recent farm mishap, Mack sees a solution to covering the fines. However, he and Ross soon realise they don't have enough cannabis plants and devise an alternative scheme.
