Coronation Street's Chesney Brown could be exposed as a liar in the New Year when Daniel Osbourne decides to get his revenge.

Chesney (Sam Aston) took his feud with Daniel to shocking new levels this week by deliberately hitting himself with a brick, wanting to frame his rival for assaulting him.

Although Chesney thinks he's now managed to get Daniel off his back once and for all, it seems that his enemy may just be biding his time before retaliating.


As Chesney and Sinead Tinker prepare for their hen and stag parties, Daniel is intrigued to spot that The Rovers' CCTV is hooked up to Peter Barlow's laptop and offers a bird's eye view of the ginnel.

Beth has produced a special DVD full of clips showing Sinead's childhood for the hen party, but when Robert Preston hands it to Daniel to play out at the Bistro, he forms a clever plan to get his revenge.

With the stag party under way at the pub, Daniel corners Chesney in the Rovers' back yard and leads him to believe that he's swapped Beth's DVD for the CCTV footage showing their argument.

Horrified that he's about to be exposed, Chesney rushes over to the Bistro and knocks Beth to the ground in a desperate bid to stop the video from being played.

Sinead is appalled as Beth is left injured on the floor, while Tracy takes things further by pressing play on the DVD. Is Chesney's deception about to be exposed?

Coronation Street 2018 spoilers: Pat Phelan kills Luke Britton as he claims his next victim?

The end could be nigh for Luke Britton as he makes the mistake of confronting Pat Phelan over Andy Carver’s death in Coronation Street – at the mill where Andy was shot!

After spotting the wire model in the cab office, Luke confronts Eileen who admits that she found it in the house that Phelan was working on which, as viewers know, was where Andy was held hostage.

Luke starts to doubt the yarn spun by Phelan and Andy’s supposed mate Matt and so gets in touch with him, arranging to meet him in a bar. When Luke arrives early, he sees Matt getting a pep talk from Phelan and his suspicions mount.

He confronts Matt after Phelan has left and gets to the truth at last – he doesn’t know where Andy is and Phelan created the story of Andy backpacking in Belize.

Determined to find out where Andy is, Luke finds out that Phelan is at the mill development site and races to have a showdown with him, firing questions that Phelan is unable to answer, having been caught off guard.

As Luke makes it clear that he is going to the police, Phelan strikes him over the head with a rock and the men end up in an intense fight.

Luke hits out at Phelan, punching him to the ground and fleeing into his car. As he drives off, Phelan pursues him, giving chase in his van.

Can Luke outrun the killer or will Phelan catch up with his prey and make him his next victim?

One to watch: Friday 5th January at 8:30pm on ITV.

Coronation Street's Rana Nazir vows to dump her husband Zeedan as her lies catch up with her in the New Year.

Rana (Bhavna Limbachia) makes the big promise to her secret lover Kate Connor after realising that she can't keep stringing Zeedan along.

Although Rana made her marriage to Zeedan official with a registry office ceremony a few weeks ago, she's since started an affair with Kate.

Scenes airing in the first week of January see the pressure increase for Rana when Luke Britton mentions her "pregnancy" in front of Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar).

Rana had previously lied to Luke by claiming that she was expecting Zeedan's baby, wanting to make sure he didn't expose her secret relationship with Kate.

A wrong-footed Rana can't believe it when Zeedan then confronts her and demands to know whether it's true that she's pregnant.

With everything getting on top of her, Rana tells Kate that she can't live with the lies anymore and is going to tell Zeedan that she's leaving him.

Kate is delighted by Rana's grand promises, but when Zeedan starts excitedly making plans for his future with Rana, can she really go through with breaking his heart?

Monday

As the hens and stags get ready for the evening ahead, Daniel is intrigued to see that The Rovers' CCTV is hooked up to Peter's laptop and shows a bird's eye view of the ginnel. Beth has produced a DVD of clips of Sinead's childhood, but when Robert hands it to Daniel to play out at the Bistro, Daniel forms a plan.

With the stag do under way, Daniel corners Chesney in The Rovers' back yard and leads him to believe that he's swapped Beth's DVD for the CCTV footage of their altercation. Chesney is horrified and as the hens gather in the Bistro to watch the DVD, Chesney bursts in and knocks Beth to the ground in a desperate bid to stop the video.

As Beth writhes in agony, Sinead is appalled, while an intrigued Tracy presses play. Is Chesney about to be exposed?

Meanwhile, Luke is disapproving as Alya heads to another meeting with the Parker brothers, but Alya points out that the factory girls are depending on her for their jobs. Having ignored more racist comments, Alya and Aidan see the Parker brothers out, but when they find they have a flat tyre, Aidan calls on Luke at the garage to help. When Justin and Dale make racist remarks to Luke, he sees red.

Elsewhere, Roy tries to pluck up the courage to tell Brian that he needs to move out, while Brian tries to pluck up the courage to tell Roy that he's leaving. Carla starts to get cold feet and suggests she should return to Devon after all. Roy implores her to stay and tell her family the truth.

Also today, aware of Michelle and Robert's money woes, Steve calls on Michelle and tells her that there's been a mistake with their divorce settlement and he owes her £10,000. Michelle is touched by his kindness. Tracy clocks them from across the street and isn't best pleased.


Wednesday (1)

Aidan and Alya reveal they've lost the Showcase order, but events go from bad to worse when the police arrive on the street and arrest Luke for assault. At the station Luke admits to the assault, but explains he was provoked by a stream of racist remarks.

Later, Luke returns home with Imran in tow and reveals he's been charged with assault. Kevin, Luke, Alya and Sophie are later shocked to disturb a break-in at the garage.

Meanwhile, with Beth nursing a fractured arm, Sinead admits she's not sure how much more she can take of Chesney's crazy behaviour. Tyrone corners Daniel and calls him a bully, pointing out that Ches is trying to do his best for his grieving son, while Daniel makes his life a misery.

Awash with guilt, and reminded of his own childhood, Daniel realises he's gone too far. Calling on Chesney, he tells him he's sorry and wants to bury the hatchet. In turmoil, Chesney bares his soul to Sinead.

Elsewhere, Seb begs Faye for another chance, but Faye is adamant that while he believes Phelan over Anna, their relationship is dead in the water.

Also, Roy arranges a birthday meal for Carla at the Bistro, secretly hoping being greeted by her whole family will persuade Carla to stay. How will Carla react to the surprise?

Finally, Brian finally breaks the news to Roy that he's moving out, while Sophie is intrigued when she comes across a little wire model of a house in a drawer at Luke's flat and Luke explains Andy used to make them as a hobby.


Wednesday (2)

Gary visits Anna in prison. Shocked at the state of her, he resolves to expose Phelan's lies if it's the last thing he does.

At the same time, Phelan is furious that Seb has accepted a job working with Gary on a building project and throws him out. His fury turns to horror when he realises the mill conversion Gary is working on is where he buried Andy's and Vinny's bodies!

Meanwhile, Alya and Luke are convinced the Parker brothers are behind the break-in. At the same time, Luke is puzzled when he finds another wire model house in the cab office. Eileen explains that she found it in the house that Phelan was working on before it burnt down. With his mind whirring, Luke calls Andy's friend Matt, telling him that he doesn't believe that Andy is backpacking in Belize.

Elsewhere, in emotional turmoil, Sinead calls at Daniel's flat. What will he say? After talking to Daniel, Sinead pours her heart out to Beth, unsure if she can go ahead with the wedding.

Also, when Robert clocks Michelle handing over the flat keys to Kate and Rana, he's suspicious. Are the girls about to be caught in the act?

Finally, Roy arrives for Carla's birthday lunch shaken up, having found himself mixed up in the garage robbery. Taking Roy home, will this be enough to make Carla agree to stay?


Thursday

Seb has been thrown out by Phelan, so Faye offers him a bed at Number 4, on the condition that he changes his statement about Anna. Seb is furious and tells Faye that he won't be blackmailed and Gary can stuff his job.

Returning to Phelan, Seb tells him that he made a terrible mistake and won't let him down again. Phelan agrees to let bygones be bygones and suggests they have a drink.

After plying Seb with whisky, Phelan shows him his gun. Seb picks up the gun and admires it. Satisfied that Seb's fingerprints are all over the gun, Phelan puts it away, pleased with himself.

Meanwhile, Steve calls in the Bistro and hands Michelle a cheque for £10,000, Robert rails at her for accepting hand-outs from her ex, but when Michelle forces him to accept they need the cash, Robert later apologises to Steve and thanks him for the money. Steve assures Tracy that he no longer has feelings for Michelle.

Elsewhere, Luke is formally charged in court, but back at home, his gaze falls on the little wire house Sophie found. He stares at it, thoughtful.

Also today, Tyrone begs Sinead to give Chesney another chance. Chesney plans to call the register office and cancel the wedding, resigned to the fact Sinead isn't coming back.

Finally, Toyah is uneasy to realise how well Peter and Carla get on, while the police visit Eileen to ask her about Todd disappearing with Summer and Eileen realises Geraldine has called them in.


Friday (1)

Having finally got hold of Matt, Luke arranges to meet him at a bar in town. When he arrives early, Luke is intrigued to spot Matt deep in conversation with Phelan.

With Phelan gone, Luke approaches Matt. Matt admits that he has no idea where Andy is and that the back-packing story was Phelan's invention. Finding out from Seb that Phelan has gone to the new development site, Luke arrives at the mill and demands to know what's happened to Andy.

Meanwhile, when Sean leaves some fruit within George's reach, Angie and Jude tell him off in no uncertain terms, pointing out that it could kill George.

Elsewhere, when Robert offers Zeedan his job back at the Bistro, Zeedan turns him down, explaining how he and Rana intend to open their own place. But Zeedan is confused when Luke inadvertently refers to Rana's pregnancy. Zeedan confronts Rana, wanting to know if she's pregnant.

Also, Alya is horrified to receive racist hate mail.

Finally, Cathy and Alex move into Number 12 with Brian, Eva invites Beth, Izzy and Sinead for a free manicure in the back room of The Rovers but Toyah's double booked with a meeting of the Vegan Association, Eileen is thrown when Shona tells her it's a myth that Nicola is living in Australia, while Adam takes Imran on at the solicitor's firm.


Friday (2)

At the mill, Luke quizzes Phelan about Andy, convinced that he knows more than he's letting on. When Phelan fails to answer Luke's questions, Luke resolves to report Andy missing to the police and tell them all he knows. But as Luke goes to leave, Phelan smacks him over the head with a rock.

The men fight and Luke punches Phelan, knocking him unconscious. Luke staggers to his car and sets off, but Phelan gives chase in his van. Will he be able to stop Luke?

Meanwhile, when Sean loses his job at the medical centre for breach of patient confidentiality, he's convinced Jude and Angie are behind it and accuses them outright. Dr Gaddas is forced to step in and confirm they had nothing to do with it. Sean is mortified.

Elsewhere, Rana tells Kate that she can't live with the lies and is going to break the news to Zeedan that she's leaving him. Kate is thrilled. However, when Zeedan arrives home on cloud nine having found the perfect premises for their café, will Rana be able to bring herself to break his heart?

Also, Toyah and Eva row over who has the right to commandeer the back room.

Finally, Imran casts his eye over the racist hate mail and assures Alya it's important evidence and should help Luke's case.
