Becky pregnant
CIDER-loving Becky McDonald will get a sobering thought on New Year's Eve when she finds she's pregnant.
But the Corrie barmaid is so terrified of becoming a mum that she considers having a secret abortion.
She confides in best friend Hayley Cropper: "I never want to give birth. My genes are rotten and God help any child who inherited them."
But there is no easy way out for blonde Becky (Katherine Kelly). New husband Steve (Simon Gregson), who she married only in August, is desperate for a baby.
Unaware of her condition, the Rovers landlord is annoyed at Becky's apparent reluctance to start a family.
He tells her: "I wish you'd told me before we got wed."
Shop girl Molly Dobbs also finds she's expecting this winter - but doesn't know if the dad is hubby Tyrone or lover Kevin Webster.

This'll mean more screen time for her and Steve, I find them very overused a lot of the time.
-
I think Becky would be a great mum as long as she gives up the alcohol
-
I would love to see Becky as a mum
-
It will be nice to see Steve in a proper family setting but I dread to think how Becky would dress the poor child!

CORONATION Street's Becky McDonald is in for an unhappy New Year when she loses her first child with hubby Steve.
The barmaid is distraught when doctors confirm the miscarriage.
She sobs: "I'm useless! I can't even do 'pregnant' properly."
And she fears Steve (Simon Gregson) will stop loving her.
Becky, played by Katherine Kelly, tells him: "What use am I to you now? Yes, sure I can drink, smoke and have a laugh but you've got mates for that.
"And you can do one-night stands or massage parlours for your other things - so why would you want me around?"
Becky can't stop thinking about the little girl she will never hold - and confides in arch-enemy Liz McDonald.
She tells her: "I really wanted to give her all the things I never had. Now I'll never see her little face light up when she sees Father Christmas."
Although not Becky's greatest fan, Liz (Bev Callard) tells her: "I do know how you're feeling.
"Not many people know this but I had a little girl once.
"But she only lived for a day. And I'm certainly not going to tell you to get over it because you never will.
"But you need to get through it as best you can. You'll only do that by involving Steve and not pushing him away."
In touching scenes to air in March, Becky and Steve have a heart to heart - and decide they owe it to the baby they lost to keep trying for a family.
