View Full Version : Graeme to find romance
Craig Gazey has revealed that his Coronation Street character will soon find love.
The actor confirmed that a romance storyline is on the cards for Graeme Proctor but remained tight-lipped about who his partner will be.
Speaking to PA, Gazey commented: "I can't say who but I've been told that Graeme hopefully soon will get a love interest. Maybe someone on the Street, maybe not, but something is coming up for him."
He continued: "It's always a little bit embarrassing because with an on-screen kiss you know that person hasn't chosen to kiss you, so I'm not that excited about that. It's more the fact that it will be good to find a new dimension for Graeme."
Gazey also said that he would be happy if the ITV1 soap's producers chose to reveal that Graeme is a virgin.
"I think he's vulnerable and I'd like to see how he deals with a relationship," he added.
The star first discussed his desire for a love plot in an interview with DS in July, suggesting that a "big, chavvy" girl would be ideal for Graeme.

Could perhaps be Sophie, seeing that Ben is leaving. Hope it is not Rosie

Yes, there is a separate thread on it :)
I think its Emily's deaf niece or Rosie
He certainly has the hots for Rosie but I just had a thought from another thread where Tracey becomes involved with a loved character and Graeme has been to prison :hmm:

I know Graeme dressed up in drag for the Corrie panto but I doubt he would fool the prison officers in a womens prison
Is Graeme a much loved character?
He is very popular. I would only refer to Blanche, Emily, Rita and Betty as much loved characters. Only my opinion though

She did not sleep with David, he wanted to but she led him on for a bit and then dropped him like a hot potato
Coronation Street's Graeme Proctor is to woo a mystery girl in an upcoming storyline.
Actor Craig Gazey, who plays the barmy window cleaner on the ITV1 soap, claimed that his alter ego has been unlucky in love for too long.
"He has two crushes - one on Natasha and one on Rosie," he told TV Times. "In his heart of hearts he realises he has very little chance with either so he has a stab at both of them, hoping one of them might give in!"
The star added: "I'm allowed to say he gets a girlfriend very soon, which is great because I think he'd make a really nice boyfriend - sweet and thoughtful.
"You start to take it to heart when your character's unrequited in love for a year and a half! He's not that bad."
I think it will be Tina after he befriends her when she stops eating and becomes a bit of a recluse
BRAGGING Graeme Proctor gets the pint when Rosie Webster and Natasha Blakeman confront him in the Rovers over his two-timing.
The cheeky Corrie butcher (Craig Cazey) had been wooing both girls - and boasting to pals.
But Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) rumble him.
Nat invites him to the pub and asks his opinion of Rosie - who he calls a "bimbo" without realising she is standing behind him.
Rosie then chucks a pint over him.

Graeme Proctor will find himself in a love triangle with Weatherfield’s two hottest woman.
The clueless butcher will have saucy minx Rosie Webster and stunning Tina McIntyre fighting for his affections.
Graeme, played by Craig Gazey, 27, will become the most unlikely Corrie Romeo after bosses decided he finally needs to have a bit of luck with the ladies.
But we can reveal the course of true love doesn’t run smoothly for the poor fella. He becomes close to Tina (Michelle Keegan, 22) after she tries to commit suicide.
And Rosie (Helen Flanagan, 19) finally says yes to a drink and they arrange to meet in the Rovers.
Caring Graeme stands Rosie up because he feels Tina needs him more.
And in hilarious scenes, Graeme rips his clothes, roughs himself up and spreads ketchup on his face and claims he was mugged.
But Rosie smells a rat, telling him: “You’re a pathetic, cringeing, snivelling worm with ketchup spread all over your face.
“No-one ever stands me up and gets a second chance. Now do me one last favour. Go as far away as possible and just roll up and die.”
Ever-optimistic Graeme gets Rosie’s door slammed in his face when he responds: “You can’t mean that Rosie‚ let’s go for a lie-down and talk about it.”
TROUBLED Tina McIntyre takes a turn for the worse when she collapses in the butchers.
The depressed teen - played by Michelle Keegan - locks herself away as the grief and stress following the death of her dad Joe becomes too much to handle.
Turn for the worst ... Tina McIntyre
In the dramatic scenes, due to air on the ITV1 soap on Friday, Tina is discovered by horrified Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey), who ends up trying to help her deal with her emotions.
It all starts when Tina refuses to answer the door to anyone because she's too on edge to face the outside world.
Graeme, who has been cleaning the windows at her flat, tells Rita (Barbara Knox) he's worried because the place doesn't look lived in.
But when Tina finds out he's been talking about her, she sacks him and warns the hapless butcher to mind his own business.
Increasingly worried about her, Graeme's fears grow when she visits the butchers.
Coming over all dizzy, she ends up collapsing in front of him and Ashley Peacock (Steve Arnold) and they rush to her aid.
But will Graeme be able to help her get her life back on track?

Coronation Street's Natasha Blakeman is to become convinced that Graeme Proctor and David Platt are secret lovers in a forthcoming storyline, it has been revealed.
The Weatherfield hairdresser, played by Rachel Leskovac, gets the wrong end of the stick when she walks into a room and finds Graeme giving David a back massage, according to reports.
It is thought that Graeme (Craig Gazey) steps in to help his friend after the tearaway hurts his shoulder. David (Jack P. Shepherd) is soon heard groaning: "Oh yeah. That's really nice. Rub a bit lower - rub a bit lower."
After walking in on the pair, Natasha reportedly tells them: "You don't have to explain anything to me, boys. I'm very broadminded about these things. Don't knock it until you've tried it, that's my philosophy."
The Daily Star reports that the incident leaves Graeme determined to prove that he is straight, which leads to him sleeping with new love interest Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) for the first time.
Graeme and Tina have grown closer than ever in recent days as he supports her following the death of her dad Joe.
UNLIKELY Casanova Graeme Proctor beds Tina McIntyre - to prove he's not in a gay relationship with David Platt.
The butcher (Craig Gazey) is caught giving his male pal a massage by Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) and she jumps to the wrong conclusion.

Coronation Street star Craig Gazey has claimed that Graeme Proctor and Tina McIntyre are the modern day Curly and Raquel Watts.
The actor, whose alter ego Graeme is to embark on a romance with Michelle Keegan's Tina, said that he is looking forward to "comedy" plotlines between the pair.
Speaking at the British Soap Awards, he told PA: "Hopefully it should be a good relationship, and hopefully a lasting one. I think they're a modern day, more relevant version of Curly and Raquel, but more chavvy.
"She's had a hard time so it would be great for her character to get into a bit more comedy because Michelle's great at it."
Gazey added: "He does rather well for himself. He's been waiting nearly two years for a girl and gets possibly the best-looking girl on the street. So his waiting has paid off.
"We're quite pally and it's weird that we both had to then come and kiss but it's fine because it's our job. Everyone's like, 'Was it amazing?' I can't say, 'Oh I loved it', because it's a job. It's a hard life."

God i cant believe that. Ive been wanting for this to happen, but I thought they wouldnt do it, cos everybody has been saying its slightly unbelievable that she would fall for him. But I actually think Graeme is a really lovely bloke, with a brilliant personality. He's not naive like Kirk, he actually can stand up for himself and he's got confidence, and gives Tina a sense of security which she desperately needs at this time in her life. Im really looking forward to the scene where they finally sleep together. And I know a lot of people would think me as weird but I actually find his character quite sexy lol.

I have to agree with you there, tammy.
Surely Tina won't be pleased when she finds out Graeme bedded her to prove he's not gay!
Actually I do think Graeme and Tina are suited. Lets face it anything would be an improvement on Devil Boy and Jason. Graeme is a likeable character who has his heart in the right place

FUNNYMAN Graeme Proctor has fallen head over wheels for Weatherfield babe Tina McIntyre.
The cheeky butcher, played by Craig Gazey, 27, whisks the lass away on his rickshaw after the two start dating.
He’s become Tina’s knight in shining armour after the beauty lost her dad.
And there’s more good news for Corrie fans. From the end of the month viewers will have a better view of babes like Michelle Keegan, 22, who plays Tina, because the soap will be filmed in high definition.
New Coronation Street couple Graeme Proctor and Tina McIntyre take a stroll in the park in scenes expected to air next month.
The pair - played by Craig Gazey and Michelle Keegan - took to Manchester's Heaton Park yesterday to film scenes which show that their characters are to become more than just friends.
Graeme whisks Tina away on his rickshaw for a romantic picnic, before they cuddle beneath a blanket.
Could Corrie's unlikely couple really become the show's new Curly and Raquel?

Coronation Street star Craig Gazey has admitted that he is keen to explore other acting opportunities in the future.
The actor made his debut as Weatherfield's Graeme Proctor in early 2008 and has since established himself as a favourite with fans.
However, speaking of his long-term ambitions, Gazey revealed: "I've been acting since I was 5 years old but I wanted not just to be one of those child stars who gets washed up, I wanted a career so I went to drama school and I've worked in theatres as well as television. The ultimate aim is, of course, movies.
"I'm not going to stay in Weatherfield forever. I love it, it's been great for me but I want to do lots of other things. I never like getting too comfortable in one place and I want to do other things. My hero is Philip Seymour Hoffman, he does comedy, he does straight. He's amazing."
Earlier this month, the star scooped the 'Best Comedy Performance' prize at the British Soap Awards, beating off competition from EastEnders actress Nina Wadia, Emmerdale's Dominic Brunt and Hollyoaks' Bronagh Waugh.
Reflecting on his triumph, he commented: "I'm going to put the Soap Award right on my mantelpiece and just to show off, it'll be next to my other one and in between the two is an NTA award. I'll look at them all every morning and polish them every night!"
Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has revealed that she is thrilled over Tina McIntyre's forthcoming romance with Graeme Proctor.
The pair are to officially become boyfriend and girlfriend in a future plot after recently growing closer following the death of Tina's dad Joe.
In an interview with All About Soap, Keegan confessed that it was refreshing to be offered a happier storyline following the dark scenes she filmed earlier in the year.
The actress explained: "I'm chuffed that Tina is finally happy. It has been a while since we have seen her smile. Tina and Graeme are total opposites, so it's great that they are so perfect together!"
Asked how Weatherfield residents will react to the couple's relationship, Keegan replied: "I don't think people can get their heads round it at first - she is the feisty one and he is the funny one. Hopefully people will understand after a while, but it'll take some time."
Graeme actor Craig Gazey has also recently backed the romance, describing it as a "great" partnership.

Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has revealed that she is still keen for Tina McIntyre and David Platt to reunite in a future storyline.
In early 2008, Tina's first ever plotline saw her starting a romance with the Weatherfield bad boy, but the pair later broke up.
Although Tina's newest love interest is show favourite Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey), Keegan confessed that she still wants her character's partnership with David (Jack P. Shepherd) to be revisited at some point.
The 23-year-old told Hot TV: "I know this sounds mad but I would really love to see her back with David. I think they suited each other really well. They had a fiery relationship and that was great to film.
"It would be different to see what David's like a few years on and see if he's learnt from his mistakes - see if he can actually be the man that Tina wants."
It is not the first time that Keegan has pondered a possible reunion for the couple. Earlier this year, she claimed that David "still really loves" his ex-girlfriend.
CORRIE butcher Graeme Proctor can't believe his luck as he wakes up next to gorgeous Tina McIntyre.
Tina, played by Michelle Keegan, realises she's fallen for Graeme (Craig Gazey) after he helped her through her dad's death and Gail's murder trial.
Viewers will see the unlikely pair share a snog then wake up together on Thursday.
Tina's boyfriend Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) might not be too happy about it.
But Craig sees a future for them. He told TV Biz: "I love working with Tina. I hope the characters become as loved as Raquel and Curly were."

LOVED-UP Graeme Proctor will dump his gorgeous girlfriend Tina McIntyre over fears she’s too good for him.
The likeable lad, who looked after the babe following the tragic death of her dad Joe, can’t get his head round the fact that Tina wants to be with him.
But instead of talking to her about his feelings he tells her their relationship is over and it would be best if they stopped seeing each other – even as friends.
Stunning Tina is left gobsmacked by his decision but refuses to accept he’s suddenly stopped loving her.
She eventually gets to the bottom of it all and discovers that it’s all down to his own insecurities.
A Coronation Street insider said: “Graeme is so in love with Tina that he’s terrified of getting his heart broken.
“He’s never had a proper relationship before and gets himself all worked up.
“He decides it would be better to end it now rather than carry on and get hurt a few months down the line.
“He still can’t believe Tina loves him too. She’s the prettiest girl on the Street and she’s in his bed. He’s convinced she’s only with him until someone better comes along.
“But Tina doesn’t take his strong words lying down and decides to have it out with him.
“She can’t believe what he thinks and is furious that he doesn’t know her by now. If he did he’d realise he is all that she wants.
“It’s going to be a difficult time for them both. And viewers will have to wait and see whether or not they can come through it.”
Fans of the hit ITV1 soap can watch all the drama about Graeme and Tina’s relationship next month.

Coronation Street star Craig Gazey has predicted that Graeme Proctor and Tina McIntyre will have a long-lasting romance.
Speaking to Hot TV magazine, the actor explained that he expects his character to stick with Tina as long as viewers keep enjoying their scenes.
Asked whether the couple have the potential to get married, Gazey replied: "Yes, a wedding would be alright! I think as long as the audience want it and the writers like writing for it, then the relationship will last.
"It is an interesting one. I actually thought it was going to be Rosie - I thought that would be a mental relationship. Graeme would be treated really badly in the Rosie camp so I think Tina will treat him a bit more delicately."
The pair went public with their romance last week as Tina shared the news with her last boyfriend Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Graeme told the shop worker's other previous partner - his good friend David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd).
Speaking about the aftermath of the scenes, Gazey commented: "I think there's going to be a lot more turmoil ahead from David's end. I don't think they will be friends for a long time. Jason doesn't cause half as many problems as David does."
Coronation Street star Craig Gazey has revealed that he would love to feature in a wedding storyline for the soap's 50th anniversary episodes.
The actor's latest plotline has seen his eccentric character Graeme Proctor embark on a relationship with Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) after they grew close following the death of Tina's dad Joe.
Discussing what is ahead over the next few months, Gazey confessed that it feels "amazing" to know that Graeme will be around for the show's milestone birthday episodes, which air in December.
He told Inside Soap's Coronation Street Special: "However long I stay with the programme, no-one can ever take away from me that I was part of the 50th birthday of a proper institution."
Asked to name a storyline that he would create if he were in charge of the anniversary, Gazey replied: "I'd have a wedding for Graeme and Tina, with David as best man! What if David tried to wreck things by tying up poor Graeme in some foreign country on the morning of the wedding? I'd love that!"
Gazey has previously claimed that Corrie fans are backing Graeme and Tina's romance.
Popular Graeme Proctor is usually the peace-loving sort, but mess with his girlfriend and it's a different story.
Tonight, viewers see the butcher fly into a rage after he learns that David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) apparently threw himself at Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).
And Craig Gazey, who plays the hapless hero, has loved revealing this harder side to his character.
Craig said: "What I've really liked about the recent stuff is seeing a totally different side to Graeme. He gets into survival mode and there's no messing about and I really enjoyed that.
"I had this scene in the Rovers. It was the last scene of the day. I psyched myself up, went mental and screamed and didn't have a voice for three days."
At least that's not as bad as what happens to Graeme, who ends up in hospital when David runs him over.
