Robin Gibb has revealed that he is planning to reform the Bee Gees with his brother Barry.

Robin, Barry and Maurice Gibb were one of the most successful pop acts of all time, scoring hits with 'How Deep Is Your Love?', 'More Than A Woman' and 'Night Fever' between 1958 and 2003. The group disbanded six years ago following the sudden death of Maurice.

However, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, the musician confirmed yesterday that the band are now ready to perform again as a duo.

"The two of us are getting back together again," he said. "I was with Barry in Miami a couple of days ago. It was an emotional thing because Maurice wasn't just a brother, he a was a comrade in arms really.

"We have got through the breakwater of the emotions and now we can go forward."

Gibb revealed in 2008 that he was "very open" to the idea of Bee Gees reunion, but his latest comments are the first confirmation that the brothers are planning live shows again.

I love the Bee Gees, I am pleased that Robin and Barry are going to perform again. Mind you, Barry needs to go on a serious diet looking at some recent pictures of him, not looking quite so good as he did 30 years ago, that is for sure. But then, who am I to talk

They had their day

They have not Chris. The Bee Gee's have written some dancefloor classics, without them we wouldn't have had Grease and Saturday night fever.

I never liked the falsetto, but the Bee Gees have written some of the best disco hits ever, and many many other hits for other people.
