View Full Version : Corrie’s Hunk Ben Quits Show
ORRIE teen heartthrob Lucien Laviscount has stunned bosses after quitting.
The actor, who plays Sophie Webster's church-going boyfriend Ben Richardson, wants to leave Weatherfield to crack Hollywood.
Lucien, 17, is the third male star to quit the show in as many months. Craig Kelly is leaving his role as factory boss Luke Strong to star in Strictly. And Reece Dinsdale (Gail Platt's lover Joe McIntyre) is also going.
Last night a Street source said: "Top brass are scratching their heads as to why they can't keep hold of their male stars.
"They're surprised as this is Lucien's first big TV role and they had huge plans for his character but he told them he wants to break into movies, and he wants to be the Brit version of Will Smith."
Lucien, who joined a year ago, will leave in November.

He's NOT a Hunk.
id hardly call him a hunk!
Whos he trying to kid, maybe if he did a bit more on the Street he may have a chance of being recognised, he had a role most young actors would dream of.

I think so too Katy he would of been better staying in the street for a little longer getting a decent storyline and being recognised for some kind of acting ability

I don't think he would make it in Hollywood.
Having appeared in a British soap for 5 minutes does not even mean that he has made it in UK, let alone the US

no real loss i didnt think he was a regular cast member
he is certainly no hunk and doubt he will be missed
Don't make me laugh, hunk he is not.
As for breaking into Hollywood, what planet does he live on :rotfl:
he wants to be the Brit version of Will Smith
:rotfl: now that made me laugh

I think he has been seriously mis-lead into thinking he is something that he is not.
yeah i agree, he had a golden opportunity, if he was a good actor, which we odnt really know as he hasnt been on a lot of screen time.
I dont think he has realised that there is a ladder to climb and a child star on a big show is near the bottom and you rhave to work your way up.
My cousins ex is an actress who is working her way upl, she has done dramas on tv and thearte and is now auditioning for some short film parts.

Do any British soap actors crack hollywood and turn out a success?
Coronation Street producers have confirmed that actor Lucien Laviscount will leave the show at the end of the year.
The 17-year-old, who plays religious swimming team captain Ben Richardson, will bow out of the ITV soap when his storyline with screen girlfriend Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) reaches its climax at Christmas.
A Corrie source said: "Sophie and Ben's relationship fizzles out at the back end of the year and they eventually go their separate ways.
"And rumours have been rife about a potential lesbian storyline between Sophie and her best mate Sian [Sacha Parkinson], so the decision to split Ben and Sophie up might be to do with that."
They added: "It could be a while before that happens, though - if it ever does."
A Weatherfield spokesperson this morning confirmed to DS: "Lucien will still be on our screens until Christmas when his current storyline ends."
Laviscount joined the Manchester soap in December and made his screen debut on February 2.
A weekend tabloid recently claimed that he quit the show to pursue a career in Hollywood.

I don't know, I have hardly seen much of him to know if he has any acting ability.

He is supposed to be a top actor - if this is the case why did he look like a deer in the headlights when he rushed into the pub looking for Kevin or should I say Mr Webster?

Why do people that have been acting for a short time think they are good enough to break into hollywood?
