A man and his wife have denied abducting California woman Jaycee Lee Dugard when she was a child and holding her in their home for 18 years.
Phillip and Nancy Garrido denied 29 charges including kidnap, rape and false imprisonment when they appeared briefly in court in El Dorado County.
Ms Dugard was bundled into a car in the county in 1991 on her way to school.


What's even more sickening is Philip Garridos interview in which he said: "In the end, this is going to be a powerful, heart-warming story, one that you're going to be really impressed by". What a twisted ****. The sad part is Jaycee Lee seems to have affection for him which I guess is part of the Stockholm Syndrome.

I still cannot believe they have plead not guilty, and still act like they have done nothing wrong, I mean they trapped her for 18 years, they are complete nutters, and have something wrong with them, they need to be locked up for life with no parole.

Yes she had 2 kids to him, one when she was 14 and another when she was 17 I think.

I dont know the proper details to the story, but I do know she was pretty young when she had her first child to him, he thinks he has done nothing wrong, aswell as his wife, apparantly they are strong Christian believers.

More recently, Shannon Matthews' and Baby P's mums. They don't look like women who would drug their child, assist in their kidnap and allow another person to hurt their child. Appearances can be deceptive.

Women being involved in serious crime happens more often than what one would think. Just because she's a woman doesn't mean she isn't capable of kidnapping or allowing the rape of a child.

The heartbreaking fact is that Jaycee is a 29 year old woman stuck inside an 11 year old's mind. She has had no education or social interaction except with her abductors so her mental ability will be the same as it was when she was kidnapped. Her two daughters will be of low intelligence. They will never be able to lead normal lives even if the US authorties get them new identities. All three will be mentally scared for life as well as physically.

Maybe I was being a little naive
Just it can be hard to get your head around that a woman and possible mother would allow the ill treatment of a child and even be involved in the abuse of a child
