Noel Gallagher has confirmed that he has quit Oasis following a deteriorating relationship with brother and frontman Liam.

The 'Falling Down' group's founding member and guitarist announced the news in a statement on the band's official website, BBC News reports.

He said: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."

The Manchester rockers were forced to cancel their second gig in a week at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris after "an altercation within the band".

Last weekend, Oasis pulled out of their headlining stint at the V Festival.

Aww, thats a shame, they were quality.

They have only been communicating via twitter and text it said on the radio! That really is a deteriating relationship.

not my kind of music anyway so it does not bother me either way but they have been round for about 15 years now havnt they? they have done what they set out to do so good luck to them

Im really gutted! I loved them

It was the Man City commentators who said they werent communicating, I remembered earlier. They were in the same box and were not talking only texting when they were nexyt to each other.

They have been around a long time.

I cannot believe they have split, I always knew this was coming as you could clearly tell they were not getting on over the past few years.

Its a shame, another great band has split, always loved there music when I was growing up.

They probably will, hopefully they will anyway.

They have opened a ba near me in Burnage where the Gallaghers were bought up, and its the Oasis Music Lounge, i think that name will be changing soon.

The owner was saying its such as shame as they really did put Burnage on the map.
